Nice to see you posting videos again my friend.
I wish I had that competent an assistant flying with me.
We’re planning a flight from kvqq kchs kilm kecg kffa (purely because we’re near there) kacy kswf and back home.
I bought an Xbox to run Microsoft flight sim 20 on. It was a pretty easy way to fly approaches while I was away from the conus infra structure. Do you have any recommendations on hardware for those of us who use a gaming console instead of a pc?

Phil! How ya doing my friend!? It's great to hear from you! I think it's awesome that you're using MSFS for instrument training! What aircraft you flying it in?
Unfortunately I'm zero help to you with consoles. The last console gaming I did was COD on the Xbox 360 in college! 😄
Sounds like you're just gonna have to build a Beastly Gaming PC instead! Way more add-ons for PC (like pilotedge, BeyondATC, and SayIntentions)!

Got Air Manager and Pop-out Mgr, and transfer all to my touchscreen but when I touch the screen to activate a knob or push a button the popped-out image hides behind MFD, truly annoying and wondering what am I doing wrong. Thanks

@@jaytua730 Both air manager and pop out manel manager have settings you can configure to "always on top". That keeps the window always the top window over other applications like msfs. Air manager you can set that by right clicking on the air manager panel and clicking "always on top". Pop manager needs to be configured in the main menu.

I just ordered a 7800x3d and have a 3080 12gb. I am putting it on a rog board with 64gb memory. I am running a 49" ultra wide screen with three touch panels and a side monitor. How Do you like the 4070ti compared to the 3080? I was thinking of upgrading but may wait for the 50 series.

When I first got the 4070Ti I made a few performance testing videos and called them 4070Ti testing... Somebody left a comment on one of those videos making fun of me and telling me I should have called it a 5900X testing video because I'm clearly CPU limited. In retrospect he was correct. And even with my current setup now, I'm still CPU limited.
The fact is, MSFS 2020 is heavily single thread limited. Until they fix that (which I believe they're doing in MSFS 2024) our GPUs are going to continue to be sitting there not at 100% load. If asobo makes good on the promise of better multi-core performance in MSFS 2024, we might find that our 40 series cards are finally maxed out and we end up wanting for 50 series cards. If I were in your shoes I'd probably hold off. Even having just built up this system, I still think as soon as the 9000 series CPUs and 50 series GPUs hit the market, I'm going to find myself wanting to upgrade. At $370 for the 7900X3D I figured now was a good time to get my AM5 platform all set up and running properly, And when the new chips hit the market, it'll just be a drop in replacement for me and I'll be able to sell the 7900x3D for $250 or more.
I mainly made the jump from 3080 to 4070 because at the time you could only get frame generation on the 40 series cards. Now that it's been a year and a half or so, clearly there's other workarounds to get frame generation on a number of other graphics cards.
All that to say, I would expect your performance to be about the same as mine. I was really stuck between the 7800X3D and the 7900X3D because they're the same price, and all of the benchmarks show the 7800X3D eek out slightly more gaming performance than the 7900X3D. I was afraid since I'm running a whole bunch of background tasks, the 8 cores of the 7800x3D might not be able to keep up with that. The bummer is by going for the 7900X3D, I'm limited to six cores operating on the 3D VCashe, versus eight cores all on the 3D vcash with the 7800X3D.
Good luck with the new system!

Looks great but my windows 11 lost the touchscreen feature so cannot really use air manager like I use to. So frustrating.

That's odd. Not sure why you lost your touch functionality. Mine was always a bit glitchy getting the windows touch calibration to open, but nothing a reboot wouldn't usually resolve. My touch works fine with my Windows 11 install.

@@mcorrive12 Thanks ... I might have to do a fresh install which I'm dreading but out of options.
