- Today, I find Rykard chilling out in the middle of a lake.
I’ve played around with modding on the channel before, and I figured the next step was to just take the plunge into randomizer territory and start seeing what chaos I could stir up. Randomizer mods are some of the greatest ways to keep your experiences with a game fresh if you feel like it’s been growing stale. Here’s the one I used…

If you're still wondering about adding in bosses, there's a custom enemy placement button in the randomizer exe that lets you do that (along with replacement odds for all sorts of stuff to an almost absurd degree)
Yeah by default dungeon bosses will be randomized with dungeon bosses field bosses with field bosses. Etc
@Yakul I'm not sure if you can get down to the single enemy level for things that are being replaced, but you can get very specific about what is in the randomization pool. For example, you could say you want a 10% chance for regular enemies to be replaced by basilisks (don't ask me why you'd want this exact example though lol).
For me, Margit and Godrick were replaced by goats so I randomized mine a bit too much lol.
Imagine if invaders could be replaced by any enemy
You'd be chilling in Limgrave then you step a bit too close to the Colosseum and suddenly you get invaded by Radagon of the Golden order

"How much damage do you do? ... Too much, too much, WAY TOO MUCH" is essentially my reaction to any boss in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring damage is just on another level. Not only did I think I was underleveled in every area I went to with how many vigor checks I took, but I was doing some insane damage by the time I reached Hogwarts. It's all glass cannons out here.

@@ihatehandleupdate Interesting choice. I'd say Bloodborne and Sekiro have Malenia speed, Ds3 has Radussy speed, and ds1 and 2 have Miriel speed.

I've been playing around with the Elden Ring Item and Enemy Randomizer (by thefifthmatt) and it's been a blast.
My suggestion to anyone playing through this is to do what many Randomizer runners do and find your Hype Caves; areas with a lot of randomized drops that you can quickly check for progression or gear. Named after a cave with a bunch of item checks in The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past Randomizer.
Anywhere with a cluster of items (underneath the Divine Tower of Caelid), a bunch of graves (you'd normally find lots of runes at these), or a merchant (if you're randomizing their inventory).
If you get lucky, you'll end up with at least one enemy that drops stuff reliably with a good roll. Miranda flowers large and small, Abnormal Stone Clusters (the Mario Pokey-looking ball-things with eyes near Gaols), and GIANT ENEMY CRABS all have reliable drop tables that can lead to fun times in farming.
And for Rusty, even 1% replaced Regular Enemies with Bosses can get truck-nuts real quick. A good roll will lead to shenanigans. A bad roll has Elden Beast hanging out in the pond behind Kalé.

A good tip if you play randomizers that mess with starting kits.
In the character creation screen, there’s a section for “origin” where you can flip through them quickly.
Saves having to exit out and pick from the menu before each time.

cool watch! most randomizer run I've seen where people just speedrunning the game and using the functionality that allowed them to locate key items, it's nice to see someone actually explore

The randomizer mod single-handedly quadrupled my elden ring playtime. The game is basically a roguelike now

I just decided to do another randomizer run, and I got the seed from hell. Nothing useful in Limgrave, god tier bosses in Limgrave and Liurnia, things gated in the most perverse ways ... one half of the medallion you need to reach the Consecrate Snowfields and the Haligtree was where the Crimson Amber +2 is usually: down a hole in Ashen Capital that you can't reach at all until after completing Farum Azula.
I'm not sure if seeds repeat exactly, but the seed was 433074988, if anyone wants a ridiculously brutal random game.

Pretty sure there is a way to make regular enemies bosses and setting wildlife to be certain types of enemies as well, similar to what Distortion did for his run (replacing wildlife with revenants, lobsters, albinauric archers) just wish he added runebears and mohgwyn crows in the mix lol
Also kinda appreciate you did a regular character instead of monstrosities, I just see too many monstrosities thanks to prod that normalness every so often is good lol
