lol where’s the official statement on the Sierra 5?
Pinning this comment. I asked for a comment on that at the show. No one wanted to talk about it on camera, but I see their perspective on the issue (just as I also see pissed off customers' perspectives - and FYI I'm not taking a "side" here, just presenting what I was told). According to Dead Air, there was a bad vendor who was cut out after messing up a run of Sierra 5 cans. *Allegedly*, this affected a very small but vocal section of the gun community and a very small cross section of their product. According to DA, they feel like making a public statement calls more attention to what was, again, as I was told, a bump in the road. DA says they have shipped more cans than ever and only a small amount (I don't know if this means small in proportion to all DA silencers or small in proportion to S5 silencers) had issues which have been/will be addressed.
Again, I gave them the opportunity and this was declined on the basis that they perceive this as a minor issue caused by an ex-vendor that is/has been resolved. The statement is somewhat persuasive on the basis that, if they were really hurting and having widespread problems, it would behoove them to take the opportunity to address the audience. But if it truly is a minor issue as they say, they would be correct in that it wouldn't make sense for them to make a big public statement about it.
Again, I don't want to get in the middle of this but I do have a vested interest in my audience knowing that this was an issue I brought up. I also can't guarantee the accuracy of the above as it was being relayed to me over a week ago in a brief conversation and I'm regurgitating it here.
@@TFBTVShowTimeI appreciate the response. I don’t think it would’ve harmed their image too bad if they had been open about the issue from the start. Hopefully this is all behind them as I do like most of Dead Air’s products.
Thanks James… I own 5 DA products, none Sierra 5, but even though I’ve had no issues find it hard to recommend to others given their response to those who have had problems. Many other reputable manufacturers out there.
Silencerco had a "bump in the road" too, except they did a public safety recall instead of waiting for people's cans to explode.
@@TFBTVShowTimeand what about the warranty repairs that were taking 9 months with no communication? Along with the Sierra issues their customer service has been terrible.
The idea of adjustable back pressure is really cool. There’s definitely a trade off when adjusting it, but that’s pretty darn innovative.
Will this one have a secret maraca feature too?
🤣🤣🤣
Dude really referenced this can to the Sierra 5 💀
Dead Air certainly isn't rising from the grave with this one
Bahahaha
Not with DEAD AIRS HIGH PRICES
@@romeofoxtrot363 High prices? They're pretty average prices.
James made that Klingon joke but I'm pretty confident it is a reference to the Gamesters of Triskelion which was an episode of the original Star Trek
Definitely! I think James doesn't want to let on what a huge Star Trek nerd he is!
Kinda looks like a lightsaber handle
I was gonna say. I love the look of the nomad, wolfman, wolverine. I hate the look of all these new ones to the point where I'm having.a hard time saying go on any of the new ones. They're all seriously ugly.
kinda funny how he's got the balls to sit there and call the sierra 5 a hard use can lol
What did you expect, specifically?
Man that is awesome love to see Mike coming out with these awesome new designs that is an awesome looking can
No way in hell I’m investing in more dead airs. So sad. I vouched so hard to friends and family on these guys.
lmfao you're part of the problem, shilled for a meme company before they prove themselves
@@TheBawbSagetAre you dense? Their maskHD and sandmans were/are fantastic yet they completely lost their way with warranty and quality since those days. How is that part of the problem my fellow regard?
@@Nexar10keymo has always been dogshit, DA is a meme reddit company
@@Nexar10was gonna say, isn’t Sandman like one of if not the best in its class? Objectively? I don’t have one but I’ve been extremely happy with my Wolfmayne.
Obviously DA needs to take its lumps for the Sierra but this dogpiling from read it dweebs and, quite frankly, guys that likely haven’t shot a DA product (and never will) makes the whole “enthusiast” community look like a bunch of nerd losers more concerned with read it “up votes” and youtube “likes” than actually seeing the company figure out its sh|t (which it needs to do)👌
lol sounds like you spent too much time on the NFA Reddit.
Until they make some sort of a statement about the Sierra 5 I’m not selling any more of their cans, I’ve been stuck with 5 of Sierra 5’s for over a year now. Can’t even get my inventory investment money back.
@@abel4776hello fed boi
I'm an SOT if you want to sell and F3 a keymo S5 :)
I noticed you're selling Dead Air without them making a statement about the S5. Did you change your mind?
@@SkylynedSince the Suppressor Market has been booming I've sold the can about 5 months ago but im still not selling anymore of their cans. I switched to being a B&T dealer ;))))
@@NectarStrategic Im an SOT as well. I sold the last can about 5 months ago. But still like wtf you know what I mean. no dealing their cans no more
That's some pretty interesting stuff actually, I'm curious to see how it will perform. I'm glad they are moving to additive and pushing forward with new designs. With the way other stuff is performing they are going to need to. Overall I think this is good for us as customers because its showing that the need for healthy competition is starting to finally be met.
I'm done with DA after the S5 issues. I have an early SN model and am expecting to send in a tactical maraca for RMA at some point.
If we buy the first gen. Will the ABD be available as an add on later?
You guys did a fantastic job! Thank you very much
Q2 is long passed. But to be fair, he did not say what year. Any news on this when available?
Well as long as as they don’t put out a statement on the sierra 5 me along with lots of guys won’t be looking to dead air for our hush hush needs
Are we asked to sign an NDA if we warranty these also?
Will never give a dime to this company after seeing how they’ve treated their customers this past year…
I was hoping for Darth Pappas..
Smith says “hub”. So a plan B/Atlas can work on this?
It does seem really interesting, but especially for the price I'm still looking for a Nomad. I have a wolfman that's pretty good (and seems to have no back pressure increase) on my 5.56 shorty, and id hate to buy a rifle can that I can't also use on 300BLK.
If it's the same series as the sierra 5 for hard use, I'll hard pass on that.
I get the feeling that even wirh a full team they dont come up with anyrhing too outstanding
Extremely interesting. I’m in
Sounds sweet. Is there going to be a 30 cal version?
No
low back pressure is something I just dont care about. there are some many easy ways these days to deal with the pressure and still have really great sound reduction without special cans.
I always wanted a silencer that looks like a lightsaber
Thanks for the review.
Nice backpack. Who knows the manufacturer? Or the same design :)
Damn, last video. Next year you should do a video on the craziest concepts from the shot show dungeon.
How much does it weigh?
Why shoot 6mm ARC (or 22 ARC) suppressed ? No one makes Sub. rounds !
I’m not buying any more DA cans until they publicly address the Sierra 5.
The price is high. Really needs to stay at about $800 to be competitive.
Think I'll pass on Deaf Air after my Nomad Ti exploded...
the tragedy that keeps on giving
My s5 is great
I thought it was a lightsaber at first
Did anyone else read the thumbnail as deadly lazer
No one is gonna buy that because the sierra 5 was a fuckin grenade.
What do you mean?? I’ve got one in jail rn.
@@jackryan9710 the baffles disintegrate. its a feature, not a bug. makes the can way lighter and less backpressure
@@jackryan9710 ignore it. They are Reddit trolls from the NFA sub who spend the majority of their day searching out any and every video about Dead Air to comment on something 99% of them have no first hand experience with. If you see @ NFAreviewchannel's interview with Mike from DA, every single person here complaining are copy and pasting the same exact bs on those videos too. These same exact people from the same exact sub that hates Dead air would have recommended Dead Air over most other suppressors a year ago. Who they love and hate changes faster than the wind in Wyoming.
I own 3 Dead Air silencers. I shoot every weekend and since I can shoot on my own land, a lot during the week. Never had an issue. Wolverine, Sandman-L and Nomad 30. Don't use unsupported mounting systems, install correctly and check for centricity of barrel and you will be fine.
@@LiveFreeOrDie76 Tell that to all the dead air salt shaker owners that waited 3-12 months for a product only for it to detonate after a few hundred rounds. And then tell them how dead air didn’t say a word and took months to fix those cans that detonated. Just because you got three da cans that work doesn’t change the fact that there’s a lot if dudes that had their shit blow up after a few hundred rounds. But it wasnt just the sierra 5, all their cans were failing at the same time. But good for you bro. Glad you got your cans before they shit the bed and rolled around in it.
@@jackryan9710They outsourced the first batch to other manufacturers, bad QC, many explosions and ruined cans.
They’re fixing and returning the broken units and claim to have increased their QC and are sending them out. Range Day Bro on here will give you an unbiased, unpaid first hand experience with one that blew up.
So loud it wakes the dead.
Good name choice.
James Reeves suffered for our sins of gun gluttony and ammo supremacy. RIP in peace.
Don't look so excited James.
"Lazarus"? How ironic.
Ya honestly did you think about this?
No statements on the Sierra five is real simple guys, with an army of lawyers all over the place waiting to chase an ambulance the first time they say something they’ll be hit with lawsuits from everybody. It’s the world we live in. If you own a business, you would know that. If they fix the cans and nobody gets hurt, what’s the problem? Oh, I forgot trolls.
Can I trade my Sierra 5 in for this one? Lol
Yet another year without "breakfast with mike". curious as to what happened, but i know it's none of my business and can make a good guess as to why.
People clowning on the sierra 5 probably are too poor to even afford one😂
🇺🇸
Should’ve named this the Judas
No price?
Looks like crap
This thing looks like a lightsaber hilt
Cringe Air. Flying high on an unearned reputation.
Man my Wolfmayne been running strong and I beat it up real bad nine mil, thirty-cal, five-five, whatever. How many DA products do you own? Just curious👌
@@hikeskool They don't own any cans that's why they sit on Reddit all day. I bet 90% of them don't even shoot regularly if at all. They got mad I have a bunch of cans, 3 of which are Dead Air. Also hilarious how Dead Air used to be the NFA subs favorite company.
Sandman s, mask HD, odessa-9 checking in here. Once they're back in stock, my wife is gonna get a Sierra 5 for her DD and I'm gonna post it everywhere and watch everyone cry about it
just get a sandman and a superlative arms blow off gas block.
Folks dont own any DA products asking about a statement 🤦🏾♂️
Quite wack I know 👌
HAHAHA EXAAAACTLY!!! They havent figured out their opinions dont matter as much as they believe they do
Glad they got a new suppressor out instead of repair my two Sierra 5’s.
Never again will I give them my money. Avoid Dead Air and their garbage customer service at all costs folks
looked like a plastic fake airsoft suppressor
?
Yuck
Do not buy the Lazarus 6 suppressor. It has way too much weight, and it doesn't have the flow through reduction you should expect.
Dead like like the company
Uggghhh my comments censored AGAIN what am I doing wrong here? Seriously? I’m only nine beers in on the evening but have I said anything THAT bad?
His voice was done
Might as well call it the Dylan Mulvaney can cause nobody is buying it! Dead air is like the bud light of the suppressor industry..
Not really.... all my cans are DA and they are ALL BAD ASS!!! No problems and CS has been pretty good for me... that being said, ive never had any repairs done, but I did have a chipped end cap on a Sandman and they sent me a brand new one for free, which I did not ask for... they offered it. That has been my experience with them.
Nah dead air is the most transparent company. I think their success is bigger than they prepared for so they need to maybe focus on customer service, allegedly from what I hear about people complaining about their customer service.
Dead air is dead to me. And the Lazarus will not revive them from the dead
Hehe
If we buy the first gen. Will the ABD be available as an add on later?
