- Ingredients for the filling:
1 kg ground beef/ minced beef
3 chopped carrots
2 chopped potatoes
1 chopped onion
2 minced garlic
1 chopped scotch bonnet pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
1/2 thyme
2 tbsp cornstarch or flour
1 beef seasoning cube or any of choice.
ingredients for dough:
1 kg all purpose flour/8 cups
400g butter or margarine
1 cup milk or water
1 large egg to mix the dough
1 large eggs for egg wash
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
1/4 tsp salt
These look great Can I omit the onion or substitute something else? Would grated carrot be okay instead of chopped.

Pls what about when using 4cup of flour, how many grams of butter do I use.
4cups of flour is 500grams which is ½kg. You'll use 250grams of butter which is 1satchet.

1 kg usually gives about 14 to 16 medium pies depending on the size
