You need goats to keep all of the bramvles and brush rown. Work smarter not harder. Yes, goats require some care but not much. They are pretty hardy and you woyld be amazed at how much they woyld help in the care of the property. Get 2, and see. Or borrow from neighbors!
In Portugal, goats can stay outside all year round. All you need is a mobile electric fence, a mobile shelter, because goats don't like rain, and a water trough.
Goats have time, a lot of time. They use it mainly to think of ways how to get to the other side of the fence. And they succeed, always. Even electric fencing is a joke for them. So you might save some time caring for your land, but you’ll spend a lot of time keeping them where you want them to be.
I know - I look at this and think "why wouldn't you maintain it a little at a time, rather than let it become a gigantic task?". Whatever. I don't live there.
I think Julie summed up Project Kamp nicely with one sentence when taking about the lagoon and waterfall: "Finding the right balance between caring and taking is not an easy task, but we will get the hang of it "
I think that you should install a gutter system on the pig trailer. With basics filters you could harvest clean water in a tank (reuse an old ibc like the one for the biogas tank). If not drinkable the water could serve other purposes (watering plants, for a summer shower near the pig trailer, washing dishes, etc).
@@paranihiaanaru4414 I imagine with the nearby pond from a recent video, most of the rainwater becomes groundwater that runs into that anyway so they're indirectly conserving it.
I would recommend to make not less but more dams upstream. Making the stream more wide at those points like little ponds combined with overflows inside a wadi. Just so you can retain more water during the winter months that are becoming much more wet to compensate for the much longer dryer seasons It also helps with slowing down water, wich can proof lifesaving for the people as for the nature during "monsoon" / extreme rains Greetings from landscape architect. (Not a native english speaker)
Brilliant idea to propagate willow branches to hold the lagoon embankment! Willow is such a useful tree too, I imagine y'all making baskets in a year or two. Downstream looks good cleared out, but remember that swampy areas clean water that flows thru it. If you plant canes in teh waters above the lagoon, maybe you will see less mud build up in the lagoon. So glad to see the multi-color house (formerly the pig trailer) getting finished up!
Great small bird feature! And I love the color of the big trailer, also called pig trailer (Which I didn't realise till today). Greetings from good old Vienna
I particularly like how the video guys make a cameo appearance from time to time. All in all Project Kamp is a fantastic learning environment. Keep up the great creativity!.
You should build a little roofed area outside the door of the pig trailer. That way people can remove muddy shoes outside even when it's raining. Makes it much easier to keep the inside clean. It would only need to be large enough to overhang the stairs.
Since there's a lot of leftover wood, I think you can use them and create small trinkets or items that you can sort of auction or sell to raise funds for Project Kamp.
It may be interesting to have the frontdoor opening to the exterior instead of inwards. It'll give more usable space in a small space such as the trailer. But overall an impressie result 😊
The rain on the tin roof sounds like popcorn popping. The lagoon and damn look fantastic, great work you guys! I liked the time lapse especially. The trim-guide you added onto your circular saw, BRILLIANT !! I will absolutely remember that for my next job. Such bright colors on the 'new' trailer, but it is really coming together. Nice roof work, the last bit along the roof line turned out great too! Love the weekly updates! Keep up the amazing and hard work you guys!!
This door bird: Such a nice, little but very useful modeling of a function. Awesome, felt in love with it asap. The trailor looks soooo great (You know i dont like this patchwork color...but still:) inside as outside. Fantastic job, hui!
Nature abhors bare soil.the volunteers are always trying to correct that. And like always the problem is the solution. Grind all that plant matter and mulch the pathways.
It would be interesting to hear about how you've incorporated safety elements into your living spaces and around the camp, such as smoke alarms, GFCI outlets, etc.
Hey good afternoon you guys I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and God bless you guys and have a good time out there just be careful nobody gets hurt all right can you speak God bless you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i love the whimsical artistic touch with the toilet lock! I wish i could be a resident artist in a little community like this. Every community needs an artist!
The inside of the trailer looks much nicer than the outside, the multi-colored panels look like an alien element in the environment, as for me, if the trailer was covered with wood on the outside, the trailer would look great.
I am surprised that the pig trailer was not given a "shed" or slanted roof. It would have made a great way to shed water into a cistern or rain barrel. Not a criticism--I think the work done was outstanding! Love the little bird on the outhouse!
My favorite videos are the ones where you show us more than one project. Well, actually I occasionally like the 'dedicated to a single project' ones too. For me the mix would be something like 1 out of 10 videos on 'challenges', 1-2 out of 10 on "Kamp life" and the people & rhythms of things, 1 out of 10 involving the neighbors and local community that Project Kamp is located amoung, at that point maybe I'd actually like 50/50 between 'multi project' & 'single project'. Not that it will stop me from watching. I just found you a few weeks ago - but I went back to the very first video and now have watched all 103. I'm quite aware that I am just one person and you have over half a million subscribers - so it's not at all about me! ....But still, I wanted to share my particular view. I really appreciate all the work everyone there puts in, in order to provide the videos!!!! Thank You Project Kamp!
Love the cute little bird lock and how the pig trailer has come together.... I love watching your videos but i have to say the "Nooo" when the guy was in the toilet was absolutely hysterical!!!! i had to go back after the video ended just to watch that part again, lol 🙂
Guys! music is always amazing but this time who ever is responsible for the music in videos out did himself. Love the music so much! Sometimes I’m watching those videos just for the music in them! love it ❤❤
Is it worth considering installing something upstream of the lagoon to slow down the flow rate? In turn, it would hopefully keep more mud and silt out of the lagoon. Hopefully, that would result in clearer water in the lagoon, making it look more inviting? 😊❤❤❤😊 Edit: If Kevin deserves an award, so does the pig trailer team. It's looking great inside with all that lovely wood. If I could remember names, I'd mention them by name. The only name I might remember is Carola, although I probably spelt it incorrectly (apologies). That woman is a gem for all her building skills. 😊❤😊
I love format of different projects it totally takes on the title of an update. I would love to see a wrap up/ review of all the different projects that you guys completed over the year.
The bird lock is very creative. I do feel a bit of pain on using the planer to create a flat surface. Also for hygienic, durability I would recommend to debark any wood you use. It either will fall off when the wood dries. (So protective measures can only be half done) or to much dirt will stick in the bark cavity. Also and this is just a aesthetic choice. The feeder I would connect with a duvel from the back so the screw, 1 doesn't speed up the rusting proces. 2 by hiding the connector it won't break the immersion of the feeder. Further loving the creativity!
Rather than hacking the canes, a pull a long winch is a handy tool, use the biggest tree to winch out roots, i have use a large ratchet strap before, looking great guys.. keep up the good work..
That little bird is whimsical, what a great idea to add art to function. 👍🏻
Great idea. Im thinking that how they see it from distance. Maybe painted bright colors would make it visible from far away.
Love the little bird
The bird is so cute!

Goat milk is very nutritious and delicious! Also, all the free fertilizer from the goats!
I agree, it would certainly be revisiting jobs again and again and again. Let the goats do the work!
Goats have time, a lot of time. They use it mainly to think of ways how to get to the other side of the fence. And they succeed, always. Even electric fencing is a joke for them. So you might save some time caring for your land, but you’ll spend a lot of time keeping them where you want them to be.
They’re vegans they probably cry if people suggest getting goats or chickens
Maybe have weekly lagoon maintenance where everyone spends 20-30 minutes together plucking the cane shoots.
I know - I look at this and think "why wouldn't you maintain it a little at a time, rather than let it become a gigantic task?". Whatever. I don't live there.

I don't think it rains at all in the summer and in the other periods they already have enough water
@@gregorgombac5302 Never hurts to conserve water, no matter how much you think you have
@@paranihiaanaru4414 I imagine with the nearby pond from a recent video, most of the rainwater becomes groundwater that runs into that anyway so they're indirectly conserving it.
Was the first thing i thought of too. Can collect water and have some veggie gardens around the trailer to make use of it.
Plant more trees. It conserves water in the immediate area and refills underground aquifers.
I would recommend to make not less but more dams upstream. Making the stream more wide at those points like little ponds combined with overflows inside a wadi.

Best idea in the comment section
The pig trailer looks amazing inside and outside.
I am definitely amazed.

Exactly! And the willow is good at absorbing extra nutrients and helping keeping them out of the water supply.
Cane can be woven into baskets or mats as well.
The shade when they grow would also help slow evaporation!
Those canes are most likely Arundo donax, an invasive species, there are other species who can do the job tho
The bird lock is so adorable!!!!!
LOVE the bird lock!
Those canes can work as bio filter
You can plant in the upstream
it's an invasive species (Arundo donax). It's better to not help them to spread even more.
Those canes are most likely Arundo donax, an invasive species, there are better alternatives
Paint a red dot behind the bird that only becomes uncovered when the bird is down. Easy & simple extra visual marker.
project kamp has been the only thing I've been looking forward to every Monday! Thank you!
Great small bird feature! And I love the color of the big trailer, also called pig trailer (Which I didn't realise till today). Greetings from good old Vienna
I love love love the episodes where you guys clear a lot of plants out of the way, it's SO satisfying to watch lol
Love the little bird! It's nice to see you do little artistic things!
The inside of the pig trailer looks great! I love the lighter, sanded down color of the walls :)
That bird lock is the nicest touch to the whole of the kamp 😃
THANK you Kevin for your washroom humour!!!
Your yelp in this episode and even the impatient hopping on an earlier episode brightens my day :)
The moral of this video is to keep the lagoon maintenance high on your job challenges! 😂 Love the birdie loo lock!🐦
For the pathways you might want to consider planting groundcover like thyme to keep the weeds and mud down.
I was more thinking of woodships to ease maintenance of the these areas. As they say, trial and error is the right acid test :-D
Or putting on gravel to reduce the repeated man hours to clear them 😊
Or some of the abundance of wood chips from cutting down and chipping the mimosa.
Yes, any kind of mulch, be it green or otherwise. The abundance of broken tiles could be used for pathways or drainage as well.
You may take oregano...it grows everywhere...
The bird detail on the outhouse turned out so well. A fun, unique detail.

Wow. So many updates. Lagoon cleanup is nice. The trailer is looking beautiful. Great use of the 2nd hand materials. The bird lock is wonderful too.
It may be interesting to have the frontdoor opening to the exterior instead of inwards. It'll give more usable space in a small space such as the trailer. But overall an impressie result 😊
The BEST way to avoid evaporation loss is some sort of shade cover on the water to help keep the direct sun heating effect off of it.
one of the better put together videos so far. The story telling was organic, Music was on point, and it had a nice flow to it!
Idea of goats eating all brush is amazing ❤❤❤🐐🐐🐐🐐
Fantastic episode, the pig trailer is sooooooo cool. The little bird is a clever addition to the toilet.
there are really talented people together!

Always thinking outside the box. Great idea for the compost toilet sign.
The big trailer on the whole is super duper amazing and I loved the side wood pieces that were put
The little craft project at the end was great.
I love the care, the creativity, the hard work and at all times the good nature and humour you bring to these videos, so good to watch, well done.

Always happy to see your latest project.Keep up the great work.
Oh!my! How you all work so good together,I love how the things look so well made. Have safe winter. Can't wait till next year!!!
The trailer looks great. Y'all are excellent planners and craftspeople! Well done!

I love the bird lock!
Moving rocks that big with bare feet :x
Drone cuts are so beautiful
