Jane Lynch in the roach commercial is my favourite thing all week.
I highly enjoyed it lol
Omg that was so funny 😅
I never would've guessed
It's an eerie feeling to have a long-forgotten jingle tear itself from your throat as you're watching a commercial. Cheerios did that.
this channel gives me more hope than this current dystopian postmodernist world we live in today.
@James I hope so, I really do.
@James I'm with ya! LET'S DO THIS!!
Lol it's just commercials dork
The 90s was like the peak of post modernism is popular media...
Amen
why does the cheerios commercial make me feel warm and safe?
I was feeling like I was in a space when my parents made sure I nothing to worry about except just eating healthy and being a kid...Thank God that none of these nostalgic commercials are destroyed or restricted...Thank God for RUclips...and thank God for the people who post theses memories...you are THE most important people in the world.
The family seems happy. Seems nice.
Ah yes, Bacon Wave, my favorite sub-genre of Vaporwave music.
I was thinking the exact same thing! It took me a minute to realize it was a cooking gadget. Then I was somewhat disappointed that it wasn't an actual sub-genre. 🤣
90s commercials just have this light and life you don't experience in the current ads. Where everything is just phones and drugs commercials. Makes me miss simpler times where we had limited access to madness of the internet. Thanks Dave
I was a kid in the 90's so the only commercials I cared about were the ones with toys and cartoons, so it's nice to see some of the commercials my parents saw in that era. Keep them coming!!
Dave Thomas made a a lot of great commercials for his company Wendy’s , they were better than any commercials they have had in the last 20 years … RIP Dave …
Dave Thomas is rolling in his grave with how Wendy's is now
You had me at "Bacon Wave"...Dave. 😎 Another banger of a video sir!
haha, it's so perfect :D
We had one of them Bacon waves for the microwave. My mom absolutely hated it having to wash it. My mom probably threw it away and I wouldn't have blamed her.
What’s interesting about the Bacon Wave ad is it’s one of the few ads for cooking gadgets that doesn’t feature incompetent people. Seriously, the lady is just cooking bacon and it’s not a disaster area, it just is swimming in bacon fat, aka cooking gold.
Also, one of the plates looks like Fiesta Ware. Just gorgeous!
I miss the 80s and the 90s
Clusters!!!!!!!!! The best cereal ever made
My girlfriend had her bacon-wave stolen by a neighbor when it was delivered back in the day.
The obsession of the 90's with fat free stuff was so weird
and today's obsession with avocado isn't? 🤣
Every decade there's a health craze. 70s was Weight Watchers and diet pills, 80s was all the sugar substitutes and Slim Fast, 90s was fat free, 2000s was Atkins and Master Cleanse, now it's high fat, Keto, and MCT oil.
Yes, and they always added way too much sugar to those products to compensate. My MIL still falls for the fat free hype.
My mom had the Bacon Wave back in the mid 90s. It worked for a while, but we started getting tired of having microwaved bacon. Then my mom found an article in the newspaper where baking your bacon in the oven was the best method. Sure, it'll leave you with grease, but can be easily cleaned up. She always lined the baking sheet with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
As always, you're doing a great job with these commercial compilations, Dave. Commercials from the Family Channel. That's a name I haven't heard in years!
I love oven bacon. Plus it's super easy to save the bacon fat for cooking with later.
Oh my god! Jane Lynch doing a roach commercial!!!!!!
Oh my a K mart commercial I miss K Mart
“Simply place bacon in the slots.” I thought this was a family channel!
Been following for 4-5 years roughly by far one of the favorite channels for when I want a nostalgic blast... Keep up the great content Dave....
Been thinking about it more and more, and I've concluded there was something special about the years we used VCR's - from the late 70's (when they first started being introduced) to around the late 2000's. Maybe from 1977 (when "Star Wars" debuted, and video game arcades were springing into existence) to 2007 (around when cable TV started to become stagnant, slowly replaced by social media, and - of course - it's also around when VCRs were replaced by DVR, Tivo, DVDs, Redbox - and the rise of Netflix).
Before 1976 we were in the "Boomer" years, when life revolved around Vietnam, Nixon. Woodstock, etc. There's a reason "That 70's Show" started in the year 1976. And after 2007, things started to become toxic (with the rise of Facebook and social media, and this was also around the start of the economy collapsing into the Great Recession). So yeah, from 1977 to 2007 - the best 30 years in human history.
@James I stopped using my VCR in 2006. I think our local Walmart stopped carrying VHS tapes around 2003 or 2004. It's hard to pinpoint the exact year "when VCR's died", so I chose 2007 (for the reasons I gave above), but it could be 2004 (when I first started seeing Tivo and DVR devices in people's homes), or it could be 2009 (when the FCC required all TV stations to switch from analog to digital broadcasts). VCR's were meant more for the analog era of broadcast TV.
Everything is so happy and fun.
Thanks for my nightly hit of nostalgia
The San Francisco Treat? Oh hell yeah!
Oh the Nordic Track! Id forgotten about that thing. I remember it was actually really long and took up a lot of room and was kind of expensive. Not to mention you had to have great balance to stay on it. I really miss the 90s!
It's always a good day when Dave uploads these gems, thank you!
the Bacon Wave ?!?! I must have this. and good 'ol Jane Lynch lol. Thanks for the videos. tickling our brains with nostalgic positivity
Bacon Wave..still have that gadget actually..good for when youre making bac cheeseburgers,BLTs and club sandwiches😁
Rice-A-Roni in five minutes wow now that’s a fast Roni!
That Baconwave at 4:42 is actually blowing my mind. Actually a good idea, why am I only just now hearing about this? This should be in stores everywhere.
go to a few thrift stores and yard sales.. they're everywhere.
It’s also stackable.
@@dfuller81 And none of that messy grease.
I can legit say I owned one and they do actually work.
I know Jane Lynch Bats for the other team but she was little cutie back in the day
Man this brings back memories
26 minutes of pure 90’s Awesomeness 💯🧈📼📺🙏 thank you for the trip back in time Dave!
My pleasure!!
I'm not gonna lie, the Bacon Wave wasn't a bad idea! Thanks for the great memories! Now I'll have the Incredible Edible Egg jingle stuck in my mind for the rest of the week, Lol....🍳🍳🍳
8:54 he loves eggs, enough to write a song and sing it for our enjoyment, he loves eggs. Thank you

It's time it's time its dave archives time
Like a time machine to my childhood.
that was a fun trip thru memory lane! the only commercial to hint at the digital future to come is the 'virtual reality tour' of the '500 nations' video & book set. other than that one every commercial was wonderfully analog. plus it was a delight to see those old cable channels like the family channel & the nashville network, so long defunct. plus, thank you Dave for pointing out Jane Lynch on that bug killer commercial. i was watching thinking is that Jane Lynch? so many memories! also, who else wanted to punch that dweeb in the Reden Budder Chedder commercial! i remember that one well! that woman was FINE! & all he wanted was cheese popcorn?! c'mon, man! also, the BK commercial, 'i don't want to live my life in fear. it's not a bib!' classic! another great set Dave!

You had me at the dave Thomas opening thanks for making my nite!
Wendy's commercials were great back then.
2:27 It's A Yabba-Dabba-Double Anniversary!
4:42 Introducing Bacon Wave!
(Loved all those classic food spots in today's volume, can't wait till we get to vol 500!)
A comment to that Western Whopper commercial: it really isn't a bib. It's... 🎶A ghetto nap-🎶
As a kid I didn't realize how much the Western Whopper ad campaign was drawing on Seinfeld.
baconwave is the best thing since Vaporwave
Smokey bacon cheeseburger 🍔 I now want one !
Thanks for taking the time to make these nostalgic videos! Always go back to them at least 3x week 😅
The Bacon Wave didn't work unless you wanted your bacon to be rubbery and smell like plastic.
I remember many of these... But the one commercial that made this for me was the one for Lee Horsley cuz it brought back the crush I had on him from Matt Houston.
Dave. You are doing god's work here, sir. Please keep up the great work!
They charged $20 + $5 shipping for that Bacon Wave back in the early 90s?! No wonder it never caught on.
My family was growing weed and living in our grow op 1999. The house becomes extremely hot due to the equipment and plants so it attracts roaches. One day I showed my friend the bottom drawer under our family home. Inside were millions it looked like. My crazy mom said NO to getting rid of them cause she believed they are good luck cause tons of money was coming in. It eventually got so bad cause my mom saw how skinny I was, due to not eating. She bought these black square plastic things and placed them around. I go to open the drawer under the phone and was so shocked to see them all gone. No dead ones lying around so with the drawer closed and no holes inside the drawer. Where did millions of roaches go. I showed my buddy who saw it and he was baffled. It was spotless inside that drawer. My mom ended up being right. One night at 2am 7 white guys kick down my door just as I'm about to beat the last boss in Ratchet and Clank. As a 16 year old I fought back. I dropped my couch down on them. Most 16 year olds would of froze and not react fast like me. When SWAT came, I was scared more than ever. Those punks got away with half of our stash and one punk took my PS2. It was fun dropping a couch on their heads. I'm lucky they didn't stab me to death.
Hello Everyone. Has anyone but me noticed that lately TV commercials feature a dog, whether or not the commercial has anything to do with dog food or dog related products? Everything from insurance to prescription medications with side effects. In fact a lot of of those commercials for prescription drugs show an overweight bald guy in colorful workout clothing walking around with a clipboard in his hand, high-fiving everyone he meets along the way, for no discernible reason. Thank you Dave for allowing me to share.
YUMMMMM BACON!!!! 🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓 and as always Dave thanks for another set of banger commercials👍
Any time!
Congrats on your 100k
Thanks Anthony!
@@DavesArchives you're welcome
Bacon wave is now a flooring store.
That's definitely Lori Alan ("The Boss" from the Metal Gear series) at the end of the Redden-Butters commercial
wow! 😃👍
I'd almost forgot The Family Channel was a thing. I don't even know what is now, it split off or became a different channel, like, five times.
2:09 - 2:28 What is her name? She played Reid's mom on Criminal Minds and she was really good.
I vaguely remember those Clusters commercials. I just remember the squirrels, not the cereal.
Bro, I loved Rescue 911.
It got sold off to Fox to be come Fox Family Channel, then Disney to become ABC Family, and now Freeform, and it's still owned by Disney pushing woke garbage to kids and teenagers.
Wow 😣😣🥺😳.
I had the Bacon Wave. It actually worked good.
Great list of commercial I could make a comment to each one but the Jane Lynch threw me. I knew that woman didn't look like a scientist.
Honey nut clusters were my fave!
Bacon wave, the natural evolution of Vapor wave
Taking me back. 😊💎
To Late Summer 1993!
03:41 - Little Caesar's voiceover by Jackson Beck.
I STILL have my Bacon Wave...
A world before social media and before you had little influence in your life beside tv (if you had one), radio, family, or friends.
Does anyone know who the blonde is in the Reden Budders commercial?
Wow, 1995 and not one website or even a mention of the internet. If only they knew the shift that was about to change everything.
Because its 1993. Not '95.
@@Tornado1994 at 13:57 the Excedrin commercial says copyright 1995
@@OtaKatWolfe Look Carefully, its 1993. Not '95.
Besides if it were 1995, you'd be getting ads for CompuServe, Prodigy and "Dime Lady" ads.
ruclips.net/video/mwvF0j5MyoU/видео.html
Remember, 1995 was the year the Internet went Commercial. So there would be Netscape, and various other Web based Addresses.
@2:12 is that Jane Lynch? I never knew she was a roach scientist!
5:30 I live in Nashville. It's Mapleleaf Dr. All one word. Also its 37210 not 37120
Bacon wave had a lot of poor grannies sending their check or money order to the wrong address LOL
Bro, that comet grill cleaner contains perlite.. That'll cause silicosis and damage the lungs. RIP to anyone who actually used that.
I wonder how many suckers shelled out 25 bucks for a cheap piece of plastic to microwave bacon.......
Since anyone in a commercial wearing a lab coat is always an actual scientist/doctor/dentist/etc. it must be unrefutably fact that Jane Lynch enjoyed doing that roach control commercial so much she left her cushy job as a pest control scientist to try her hand in Hollywood.
Wow that's some carefully worded language there at 10:35.
We need 500 nations and in every schoolprogram.
Back in the day
after watching this, i gained a few pounds 😆

9:12 Should'a named this E.B. Farnum wave.
Back when Wendy's was gpod
Brother from a different mother, Dave! Everybody loves bacon! I'm here for the bacon! You on for live stream, Friday?
EDIT:
Okay, in until the end. After careful consideration, I'll trade all the bacon for the "bath bar"! @17:43
Cheers!
-Chris
Hey bro! Yup, see ya friday man!
@@DavesArchives Good deal, Dave. Your live streams are the best. They're real.
@@DavesArchives What time? You're central, correct?
Laying "pipe" @19:25 Metadent
@@chrisbondio2394 Always 9:30 central time.
the dude from scrubs in a pringles commercial..
Women in the 80s and 90s were so much more lovely...sigh....
Good forbid your burger is too tangy!
NEW YORK CITY!?
10¢/minute? 🤢
Also the kid in me rose from the depths of the netherworld to scream the Cheerios commercial. The feels!
Jane Lynch at 2:10 made me double-take :)
"New York City!?!?!"
Gosh these ads are about actual products! I'm a teenager and would much rather watch these than the constant political and mental health ads I receive on a daily.
😋 burger 🍔 :52
Great video but too many repeats than I would like to see in such a short vid
Yeah that's irritating.
I was into Bacon Wave long before all the "cool" kids were into it. BW4LIFE!
I had the bacon wave for a longtime
So about that clean up job on the bacon wave 🤔
A friend of mine vaguely remembers a commercial in the 90s for an antiseptic spray for kids. Part of the commercial was a kid falling off his bike or something and a parent spraying it on them and then being like "It doesn't even sting!" and they go back to playing. Anyone know what the antiseptic was called?
God no. I thought i made it up. You cant forget that smell. Many scratched knees from falling off my bike got hit with that spray growing up. Can’t for the life of me remember what it was called.
I think it was called Bactine? Not entirely sure, but it’s close as I can get.
1993. September to be exact.
