- Our training officers work their Rookie's hard, but it's only because they care about protecting the citizens of Los Angeles.
Talia Bishop is calm and collected, but don't let that fool you into thinking she won't get the job done. She grew up in a foster home, which she says helps with the job "My childhood was pretty turbulent, so I got really good at reacting quickly.".
Tim Bradford is a tough training officer, who frequently tests Chen in difficult situations and is highly competitive. Despite his hard exterior, its clear Bradford has a huge soft side when you see him with his ex-wife Isabel.
Finally, Angela Lopez "grew up with four brothers, in a two-bedroom" so she doesn't shy away from a bit of healthy competition. Lopez and her Rookie Jackson, often disagree on their understanding of the law and how to enforce it.

It's weird how Lucy Chen is more confident at the beginning when not on duty than on the streets working.

I miss the Captain!!!!! An unnecessary waste of killing off a character just for a "dramatic" affect.
I agree. That was a mess up. Plus whoever failed to address Afton Williamson's harassment claim behind the scenes was another mess up as Bishop was a great character. Harper has done a good job but still, Talia Bishop was better.

Its obvious that she wasnt needed and it would have been a waste of a character being alive. They might aswell kill her off gives the show a bit more saddness and effect.
she wasn’t killed for “dramatic effect,” the actress was leaving the show. it was the only way to write her off that made sense

This show is not about action and other things , it’s about how an old guy is living his life and the way he acts to someone who is so frank that even people who is half of his age is like a friend of him so it’s about learning that how we can lead our life even if we grow old
