    Many of my subscribers have been posting requests and sending private messages asking for me to go and do videos in certain places out west especially lately, including the Los Angeles area, Oakland, Texas cities such as Dallas, and Houston. Also many more southeast cities, Miami, Birmingham also St Louis, Boston, New Orleans, and many others. This as you know is very expensive. I will eventually go to these places, if you would like to see this happen sooner rather than later, please make a donation to through Paypal donation I have set up with a debit or credit card, no matter how big or small. Thank you all for watching and subscribing.

      CharlieBo313 You should try that side of town at night your will see a little bit more. But there’s a hood known as Dblock where I’m from and that area on Jackson and Milton was a few raids and roadblocks that afternoon you where in town not saying cause I’m from there but if you looking for something Highland st and Boulevard rd, (Blvd on east side)are your main hotspots in the daytime. But south side died down a lot there close to sheriff headquarters, which is a trailer in the heart of south side 🤣. Preciate the video.

    Confirmed for showing the worst parts of Sumter but that is a GOOD thing because it's all part of history that deserves to be recorded. BTW while you do your thing you could also capture regional architecture (there are lots of craftsman style buildings in Sumter) beyond trailers, though they certainly ARE the regional architecture of the South. Most of the abandoned buildings have owners who live out of state so it's hard for the city to foreclose unless the owners stop paying property tax. Even then it's not easy. I moved here after escaping New Jersey long ago and Sumter is pretty chill. Folks are a lot friendlier than in big cities, and I've been to many of those.

    I don't care what nobody says about Sumter Ive lived many places Atlanta, D.C, Charlotte and now I live in Philadelphia. This is not hood this is just poverty or lack or care and maintenance. Hood is when you can't walk into stores without pushing past drug dealers that have the front door blocked, walking all over trash and dirty needles in the streets. Hearing noises and gunshots outside your bedroom window 24/7 no matter what time of year it is. People give Sumter a bad name when its really not that bad of a place to be

    • @danielobrien1
      @danielobrien1 2 года назад

      Yeah cuz folks are decent in the country. If something bad happens that means you were looking or asking for it. One thing I can say is if ya ain't from the country dont go steppin round out there with that big city attitude cuz you'll find out real quick. The country is a dangerous place for city slickers even if they from "the hood"

    The orange tag on the front porch of the run down house @ 7:32 is a notice from the county that the property is delinquent on taxes. There's a time frame in which it needs to be paid before it goes up for auction to the public. At the last second, some extended family member will pay it and save it from auction. Then they will do it all again next year. I live in SC not far from Sumter. This is a pretty standard rural black neighborhood. You'll find them to not be "dangerous" like the Northern cities. Mostly just people hanging around and talking about cars or food.

    Why do you call this the hood?
    Just because the housing is not big and expensive apparently you do not know what the hood really is
    These are probably decent hard-working people that live in these houses.
    You are just riding around in circles why not go to other roads in Sumter.

Here in Connecticut $150,000 would get you a small condo or a mobile home. Saw some worthy homes in Sumter (although not on an acre of land) on S. Wise St, Lesesne St. and Cuttino Rd. • @juanpaulr
    @juanpaulr 5 лет назад +3

    Ok let me just say that there is a hood and divide in every city in the U.S. Take it from a person who lived in several different states including where I presently live Summerville SC. Before people judge this video I'll let you know I purchased I nice piece of land in the town of Wedgefield SC about 9 miles from downtown Sumter. Yes lots of trailer homes. Most are vacant. Yes there are old homes like in Seattle, atlanta, el Paso Texas, Chicago, new Orleans, detroit metro area, Philadelphia metro area, LA, San Diego, New York, new Jersey, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Tampa bay, Savannah and many other places I visited and lived.
    My wife and I are from the north and moved to the south for some good country living. The land we purchased is close to the forest actually next to it. I love the scenery around the area not many homes by the property a nice get away. Sumter is a nice town full of culture and good folks from what I have experienced.it is country in the town of wedgefield and also modern areas lots of it and I love it. Nice spread updated clean areas. Lots of Very nice in parts of sumter considering the lack of employment.
    I hope you're having fun driving around hoods and not talking to anyone about their town or city so you can truly understand their way of life. Most love it there it's their way of life their home.
    Truth be told I too stereotyped SC. Now I have a totally new perspective. I am going to make a video of sumter one day and the area I purchased land. Another thing I will mention some of mobile homes are hunting dwellings hunters in the areas I purchased property. If your a city person like me you may appreciate the country lifestyle because it's relaxed. If you never lived anywhere other than the city it would be easy to judge some of the country towns, I do understand that. But take the time to explore for yourself. It will open your eyes and mind. That's if your open minded.

Very different from the northwest, but I haven't been unhappy here. It's a strange contrast, though, you'll see old derelict buildings right next to nice new neighborhoods. when there are really good Thunderstorms or Severe Thunderstorms certain areas start rising up to the top of ones foot, but the "Great Flood " of 2015 was bad. But I live right across from Shaw Air Force Base and there was no flash flooding just little puddles then it would absorb into the ground then you go 4-5 miles in other areas and it was badly flooded, bridges washed out on several roads. Just couple months back one yard maybe a mile from where I live there are like multiple homes maybe a mobile home are two then a smaller home with additions or a single wide mobile home added on, that are in a line, I think it is many members of family living in them. There back yard where there Utility Shed and and dog houses were, was still partially flooded with stagnate water. I have not looked lately but it might still have standing water. I would not doubt it.
