Mixed-handed people prefer the left hand for some things and the right hand for other things. I'm mixed handed, so I write with my left hand but play baseball and guitar like a righty. I think lefties are more adaptable. I write left handed, eat with a knife and fork right handed, sew left handed, knit right handed, bowl left handed, bat right handed, use a mouse right handed, iron left handed. My biggest struggle was being kicked out of college in the US for being left handed. I was also fired from a major corporation run by asians for being left handed. In the US , it is legal to hire and fire based on which hand you use. A decision in the late 1970s by the US Supreme Court declared that the hand you use most is not protected under federal law. Thus making it legal to hire and fire on hand preference.

You make it seem like left handed people can't use their right hand at all. I can use a mouse with my right hand, I can write with my right hand (but it takes eighty million years) I can cut with my right hand, and a bunch of other things. I can't do them as well as with my left hand, but I can still physically do them.
