Yes, though he saves us through his death and resurrection:
If we want to participate in his resurrection, we must be born-again in Christ... that is, *be baptized onto him.*
It isn't for nothing that he himself said: "no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit."

@@peskeyfly4688 I think it's important to remember that even demons have belief in God and they tremble. Even though they believe, they are not saved. It talks about the inadequacy of only belief, without seeing an actual change in your actions in James chapter 2.
Also, It'd be good to read over 1 John chapter 1 and 2, where John talks about how even if we say we are believers, if we have hatred in our hearts and we are not following Jesus' commands to love, then we are still in spiritual darkness. John also says not to love the world or anything in the world. "If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him."
These are really difficult principles and I am not living them out 100% in my own life. Luckily, John says in chapter 2 that "I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father- Jesus Christ, the righteous one." So the presence of sin in one's life is not condemning, but the conviction of sin that we experience is an act of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Paul also urges us in Romans 12 not to be conformed to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This renewing is also done by God.
I agree with you that we are saved by our faith, and there is no work that can save us, because even are best works are as filthy rags to God, like it says in Isaiah 64 and Romans 10. However, even though we are only saved by the faith that God gives us, good works are proof that faith has taken root in our hearts, and therefore we can read and trust the words of Christ when he says, "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."
If someone says they are saved but are not convicted of their own sin and empowered to fight against it by the Spirit, then they need to consider the condition of their relationship with Jesus.

@@peskeyfly4688 I am in no way arguing for the potential salvation of demons, I am making the argument, along with James, that someone can come to a knowledge that God exists, and Jesus is the anointed Messiah, but until they come to an understanding of the truth, they will be whisked away by various passions like the women mentioned in 2 Timothy chapter 3, and may not actually be saved. I agree with Paul that none are righteous, no not one, but it would be incomplete to say that there is no distinction between a loving act and a selfish act. If we act out of love, which is only possible by the Holy Spirit, then we are saved; not because of the work itself but by the Spirit which gives us the desire both TO WILL and TO ACT in order to fulfill His good purpose, like it says in Philippians 2:13.

Lucas Kaufman no, sorry. Jesus died for the salvation of man. Demons can _believe_ in Jesus-heck, even if they could admit they were a sinner in need of a savior and it would never gain them eternal salvation because the blood shed of Christ was for humans. Not demons.

As someone who would say baptism is a necessary part of our sanctification, it isn’t because I don’t understand that it is by God’s grace, given freely to us though we did not deserve it and accepted by us through our genuine faith in His Son, Jesus the Christ, that saves us. My argument would instead be that one cannot claim to have genuine faith in Messiah Jesus if their response to His lordship does not include baptism. Pastor John mentions that it is something we should do as quickly as possible after coming to that salvific faith, but what if we don’t? What if we just never get around to being baptized? Jesus tell his apostles to make more disciples, baptizing and teaching them (Matt. 28:19). Peter says to repent and be baptized, not only for the forgiveness of sin but to receive the gift of God’s Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). Paul mentions that at the point of his conversion Ananias asked him, “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name”
‭‭(Acts‬ ‭22:16‬). The water is not what does the saving, we can all accept that. But Jesus, the Incarnate Word, and Peter and Paul, apostles of Christ who spoke not by their own authority but by the inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit, all say to submit to baptism- not as a work of the flesh like we’re trying to earn our way into heaven, but as an obedient response to God’s work that He’s doing in our lives to justify and sanctify us. How can anyone claim to have an “inward change” if they don’t follow it up by being obedient to the words of Christ Jesus? Pastor John brought in Romans 4 and Colossians 2 talking about how Abraham was justified by his faith prior to being circumcised. But in James chapter 2, James uses the exact same event of Abraham being counted righteous according to his faith, but brings in the fact that Abraham followed up his faith by being circumcised and offering his son Isaac on the mountain to the Lord to show that Abraham’s faith was exemplified and made “alive” by acting on that faith. How can we claim to have faith in the Son of God, but then not live out that faith by being “baptized into a death like His?” (Romans 6:3). God gets to make the final call, but I can’t see how anyone could claim to have assurance in Christ if they began their relationship with Him by essentially saying, “nah, I don’t think that action you told me to do is ‘necessary’ for me and you to have a right relationship.” That’s like if your dream spouse showed up and said, “I want to be with you forever, all that I ask is that you be faithful, and as a sign of our love wear this ring,” and you responded with “I’ll totally be faithful to you, but I just don’t feel like wearing a ring is necessary and it seems like to do so is asking a lot of me.” Jesus isn’t asking for much at all- Have faith in Him as Lord of your life, and then get dunked.

@@TorahisLifeandLight that's a good question. The answer is rather simple. 1 Corinthians 1:16, 17. Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don't remember if I baptized anyone else. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel-not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
To understand this, you must have discernment of the scriptures. Jesus gave them instructions before going back to Heaven in Matthew 28:18-20. The verse to note is 19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. You cannot make disciples without preaching the gospel. There is an order...make disciples (preach the gospel), then baptize. There is no use of baptism without preaching the gospel. So Paul was following orders. Preach first, then baptize. And he was commanded to go to all nations making disciples, including the Gentiles, and to baptize them. Keep studying with an open heart. God will show you the Truth.

@@jmcc-lt3lk Paul clearly said it that he did not baptize any gentiles. Did he lie? Paul didn't know that water baptism was detrimental for salvation?? Yes! he knew that was not a requirement for the gentiles to be baptized.
There is no historical record that proves that the people whom Paul preached to got baptized .
The narrative of baptism in the NT was referring to "Holy Spirit" baptism.. That's completely different than water baptism my friend. That's like apples and oranges.
So, by the direct statement of Paul, that tells me or anybody with some common sense and for lack of evidence that Paul did not baptize gentiles with water baptism or Holy Spirit. PERIOD.
The Ones that Paul baptized in the same chapter of 1Corinthians 1:16,17 were disciples of John the Baptist who were 12 men in that instance who were baptized already by John the Baptist BUT Paul baptized them with Holy Spirit. They all were Jews. My friend , you must read the context.
NOW, when you quoted Matthew 28:18,19
These verse do not indicate anything of water baptism at all. INSTEAD, the context indicates that the Messiah referred to baptize believers with the Holy Spirit according to his direct command in :
      Acts 1: 8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth"
So in order to be Yeshuah's witnesses or followers, these disciples needed to receive the Holy Spirit as commanded by the Messiah himself.
The Holy Spirit was a promise to the children of Israel by the Most High as the Messiah quote it himself.
      Acts 1:4,5
}While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “Which,” he said, “you have heard me speak about. for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days."
EVERYTHING INDICATED THAT THE APOSTLES AND MESSIAH HIMSELF followed and obeyed a prophetic command given by the prophets themselves.
See Joel 2: 27-32 referring to the children of Israel ONLY.
As Peter indicated this prophecy got fulfilled in Acts 2:5, 38-39
When they believed Peter , the devout Jews coming from all the nations around the world to worship in Jerusalem as the Day of Pentecost festival , which it was done every year by the devout Jews. Just like Passover or Sukkot festivals.
So when the people believed in the Gospel and Repented they were baptized into the Holy Spirit and their sins were forgiven according to Acts 2:38,39
They didn't need a "human blood sacrifice" or water baptism for their sins to be forgiven right? Peter did not indicate any water baptism or even mentioned anything along the lines of 'blood covenant "by the messiah. why? because it was not written by the prophets.
By the way, Corneliious was a Roman Jew who was considered a genitile because he was not circumcised. Just like the Greek Jews who were hellenized and not circumcised.
Some were also considered from Hebrew race as Abraham children or Abraham's stock but not Israelites as Paul indicated in his letters.Ishmaelites ( Ishmael's children) were Hebrew gentiles. why? because Ishamel's father was Abraham. They were Hebrew gentiles.
      Acts 13:26
"Brothers and sisters, children of Abraham’s race, and those among you who fear God, it is to us that the word of this salvation has been sent."
What I shared with you my friend, does not indicate the non Hebrew gentiles or non israelite gentiles will not be saved. Actually God's plan was also to save 'people" from the nations as "non israelite gentiles" to be part of the Israel but they had to meet certain requirements and also follow the leadership of his people as Paul indicated in Acts 13: 47,48
Just like ancient time Israel. It's coming back again my friend. That's why you need to learn Torah and the Prophetic Torah to understand the purpose of God for Israel and humanity. As a Sephardic Jew myself, i am very happy to know these good news for the future.
If you want to be part of Israel in the future kingdom, you need to flee from deception that is promoted by Christianity. I am just being a straight shooter with you.
      Shalom,

@@TorahisLifeandLight You are confused...very confused. The Greek word for baptize is baptizo which means to immerse in water. If it were not so to baptize in water, then why did Phillip baptize the Ethiopian Eunuch in water in Acts 8:38? The Ethiopian said "...See, here is water; what doeth hinder me to be baptized?" Verse 38, "And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and THEY when DOWN BOTH into the WATER, BOTH Phillip and the eunuch; and he BAPTIZED him." The Bible also says in 1 Peter 3:20, 21 "to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through WATER, 21 and this WATER symbolizes baptism that NOW SAVES YOU ALSO- not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God." And no where are we baptized into the SPIRIT. We are baptized into CHRIST. Romans 6:3 "now ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" Galatians 3:27 "for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." We receive the Holy Spirit as a gift when we are baptized. Acts 2:38 "Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Staying with this verse, IF they did not need water baptism, the Bible would have said another sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house ( or the location at which they were) where they were sitting. They also would have seen to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. That wasn't the case, because that promise wasn't to them. That was for the apostles. And Paul clearly stated he baptized some in 1 Corinthians 1:16. IF Paul didn't need to baptize anyone, he never would have baptized AT ALL. Yet still, it is not true when you have an understanding of the Greek word baptizo, meaning to immerse into the water.
You think only Jews are saved? It is true...the Jews were first to receive the Word because they were God's chosen people. We are all adopted into the family of God if we obey Jesus and his teachings. In Romans 1:16 Paul writes, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” The gospel is intended for all people. But, chronologically, the gospel message was first revealed to the Jewish people before it was revealed to the Gentiles (non-Jewish people). The Jews are God’s chosen people (Deuteronomy 7:6-7). Through the Jews, God demonstrated His love and holiness to the world: “Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah” (Romans 9:4-5). It was through the seed of Abraham that “all peoples on earth will be blessed” (Acts 3:25; Genesis 22:18; 26:4). That promised blessing came through Jesus Christ, as explained in Galatians 3:16. Jesus was born as a Jew under the Law, fulfilled the Jewish Law perfectly, and died as a once-for-all sacrifice on behalf of all who would put their faith in Him (Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 9:14-15, 23-28).
Fleeing from Christianity means fleeing from Jesus, and I will have NO PART IN THAT. I am not leaving the one who died for me! There is no way you can keep the Old Law perfectly. If you live by the Old Law, you are subject to it's penalties when you break the Old Law. That's why I am under the New Law/Covenant/Testament which gives grace. I hope you can come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

@@jmcc-lt3lk First of all, don't put words in my mouth. You said Jews "were' chosen" ? LOL According to Paul and other apostles We :Jews" are still the chosen people of God. What are you talking about?
Plus i never said God will never save non israelites ( non Jews). Did you read my previous my message? I guess not. I made it very clear about that.
Now on the other issue of "baptism", i know what baptism means in Hebrew and Greek. I speak Hebrew and understand Greek. I have some questions for you. I would appreciate if you can give me your answer.
Question #1) what word is used in the bible for baptism in the Holy Spirit vs baptism in water?
Since you said that the Greek word baptism all over the NT was only for water baptism.
Question #2) Now immersion in water is more important for you than baptism in the Holy Spirit?
Question #3) in Acts 2:38 ..what made you think Peter baptized ( immersed) the devout Jews who sent to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of Pentacost in Water where Peter said very clearly to "repent' and be baptized in the name of the Messiah in order to receive the Holy Spirit?Peter said to "repent" then receive baptism of the Holy Spirit. Perhaps you think there is no baptism in the Holy Spirit?? Is that what your pastor told you? lol
Haven't you read what Acts 1: 5 says when the Messiah told his disciples to stay in Jerusalem to be baptized in the Holy Spirit? The Messiah clearly stated that John the Baptized with Water BUT Yeshuah will baptize with Holy Spirit after repentance which was what Peter did.
I think you are the one very confused not knowing the difference between water baptism and Holy Spirit Baptism.
Sorry charlie but you need to repent for learning deceptive doctrines.
      Acts 1:4,5 ,8
"While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “Which,” he said, “you have heard me speak about." “for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.”
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
So you think the Messiah will only 12 witnesses and nobody else received the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament letters and Gospels?
You are confused my friend!! There are a lot more people who received the Holy Spirit as it was a promise given to the children of israel and it was predicted by the Prophets. why are you calling God a liar? when you go against what is predicted or prophecies ...you are practically saying that God is a liar that he won't fulfill what his prophets predicted????????????????
      Are you OK?
I don't think you are familiar about this prophecy regarding the Holy Spirit being promised to the children of Israel. That's how confused you are and your entire religion 'Christianity". Listen, your false religion will come to an end soon. We are living in the Apocalypse. Repent before is too late. Believing a LIE is a sin and will condemn you. Read 2Thessalonians 2:9-13
Yes, people were immersed in water but it was not for the forgiveness of sins. The baptism of the Holy Spirit was for the forgiveness of sins. Acts 2:38 and John 14: 26 and John 16:7-11 It was not for the Holy Spirit nobody will come to repentance and be guided to the truth.
By the way, ONLY Phillip baptized in water but none of the other apostles baptized in water instead they baptized Jews with the Holy Spirit. You go figure why. I know why but gentiles have a problem with that.
Another note , the Messiah Yeshuah was murdered . That's a huge difference . His murder was not for the forgiveness of sins.it was only to fulfill the prophecy to show that not all israel was saved but only those who believed and had faith in the prophecies regarding him.
why? because the Bible says so. how?
Well, Peter preached the Gospel and people REPENTED" and then Peter baptized with Holy Spirit. That's how they got saved.
Peter never said nothing about a human blood sacrifice in order to get saved or to be forgiven. This is according to Acts 2:38 and the whole chapter as context.
The Messiah himself never preached to the crowds that a human blood sacrifice was needed in order to be saved. SHOW ME ONE SINGLE VERSE THAT SAYS THAT
The Messiah preached what was predicted about him to preach.
He preached what Ezekiel 18:19-24 predicted in order to get forgiveness and redemption. This is also correlated with another prophecy predicted by the prophet Isaiah in 61:1, 2
The Messiah preached the kingdom OF ISRAEL BEING RESTORED THROUGH HIM that he inherited through king David. This was the good news he preached to the lost sheep of Israel.
Read Mark 1:14,15 Yeshuah/Jesus said to repent and believe the Gospel OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. he never said nothing about a human blood sacrifice in order to be forgiven.
SHOW ME ONE SINGLE VERSE where the Messiah encouraged or preached the crowds forgiveness of sins was through a human blood sacrifice OR THROUGH WATER BAPTISM ???????????????????

There is allways so much tension when it comes to baptism.
It started with John the baptist. Where he was doing a baptism of repentance. Then Jesus was baptized.
Jesus said a servant is not greater than his master. Why do we think we do not need baptism.
I'm not saying its necessary for salvation, but thats a big risk.
The King came down warning everyone repent for the Kingdom is at hand. You are in the wrong kingdom, you need to enter my Kingdom, by water and Spirit. The disciples understood this and thats exactly what they preached and did.
I also think that God is greater than our little quarrelling and if you cannot be baptized, but want to its a different story, for example the thief on the cross. He couldn't get down to get baptized. But hardening your heart and standing firm that baptism isn't necessary is a different story.
They also understood, where we nowadays think that faith is just believing. Is not how they did. Its has a action. Because you believe in Jesus and that you are following Him, you get baptized, read romans 6 where the whole chapter is about being baptism and that you are now free from the bondage of sin. That overpowering grip on you, where sin will no longter have dominion on you.
The disciples preached the new birth exactly like Jesus told them when He rose from the dead and for 40 days talked to them about the things of the Kingdom.
Everyone was baptized in acts and the very same day on most cases. Peter even commanded them to be baptized after receiving the Holy Spirit in acts.
One last thing is that the disciples preached repentance, baptism water and Holy Spirit. That was what the Churches consisted of. So all the letters in the bible written by Paul and others is for born again believers and taking out passages and implementing that on non believing people, I think is foolish. We will be held accountable for what we preached and I don't think we must do anything different than what they did in acts. They knew more than we do now.

      ( Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38 & 22:16, Colossians 2:11,12 )
The Bible does say that New Testament baptism is our burial, which is an essential part of the gospel of Death, Burial, and Resurrection.
      ( 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 6:3-5, Colossians 2:12 )
The Bible does say that New Testament Baptism saves us.

Tim Loewen Tim Loewen it’s hard to say anything to someone who has their mind made up. Even if I had every ounce of proof to show you otherwise, you seem dead set in your thinking.
I will still give you a breakdown of the book of Acts so you can see the transition for yourself. I highly recommend you take some time to read that book in 1 sitting, and to take notes (rather than taking a few bits of scripture out of context. Below this paragraph I will extensively explain the transition to you.
The book of Acts is a transitional book. Below is a transition from Law to Grace God created using Peter.
Acts 2:38 (Jews) - a message for the Jews to repent and be water baptized.
“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Acts 10:44 (Gentiles) - a message for the Gentiles to believe. The moment they believed unto Jesus the Holy Spirit of God fell upon them.
“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.”
Acts 11:16 “Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.”
Significance of Acts 11:16: Peter sees the Gentiles get saved and receive the Holy Spirit just by accepting the Gospel and immediately remembers Acts 1:5 (For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.). Peter realized the water baptism was for the Jews, but that God is going to turn from needing a water baptism in order to receive the Holy Spirit, to simply receiving the Holy Spirit by BELIEVING THE GOSPEL!
The point of this sequence was for God to make both the disciples and the audience reading this book understand that in order to receive the Holy Spirit all you need to do is believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. The moment you choose to believe in the gospel you will receive the Holy Spirit. This sequence also helps illustrate the transition that was taking place from the LAW to GRACE. Law said repent and be water baptized and THEN receive the Holy Spirit. Grace says believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Spirit. All you need to do is believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ for the Holy Spirit to fall upon you!!!
Now we have a look at the transition as spoken through Paul in Acts 13:38-48. He is rejoicing seeing the Gentiles get saved, and in verses 46-48 says: “Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.”
How did these Gentiles get eternal life according to Paul? How did these Gentiles get the Holy Spirit? BY BELIEVING! It was NOT by water baptism, it was by FAITH!
The book of Acts is a transitional book: from Peter to Paul, from Jews to Gentiles, from Israel to the Church, from Signs to Faith alone, from needing a water baptism in order to receive the Holy Spirit to only needing to believe the Gospel to receive the Holy Spirit.
Further proof of this Acts 15:7-9 - Peter is addressing the Pharisees accusations against the Gentiles, as they believe they aren’t saved because they aren’t circumcised as commanded under the law of Moses:
Acts 15:7-9 “After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.””
Peter was speaking here in these verses, he was joined by Paul and Barbabas to share with the Pharisees what God had done for the Gentiles. Here Peter assures the Pharisees that the Gentiles were saved by receiving and accepting the Gospel! The Pharisees believed the Gentiles were unsaved because they were uncircumcised, these Pharisees were still looking to the Law, here Peter was explaining how now we look to Grace. We are saved by GRACE through FAITH. We are not saved by WATER, we are saved by FAITH. This is not from us, this is a gift from God.
Icing on the cake by Peter, Acts 15:10:11 “Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”
Peter makes is crystal clear that they (the Jews) are saved by the Grace of God, just as they (the Gentiles) are!
We are saved by GRACE through FAITH today, not water baptism.
Further proof we are saved by Grace through faith alone:
Acts 16:30-33 - Jews asked Paul what they must do to be saved. Here is what Paul says in Acts 16:30-33 “He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.”
Notice how Paul told them that in order to be saved they needed to believe in the Lord Jesus! That was the condition given when asked ‘what must we do to be saved?’. It was AFTER they believed that they were baptized. It doesn’t say ‘believe and be baptized, only then you shall be saved’, it says “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved”. Salvation came from believing in Jesus Christ, not from the water baptism.
Edit: if you’d like I can take things a step beyond the book of Acts and show you how this remains consistent throughout other passages of scripture. The book of Corinthians, Ephesians, and Romans have many verses that are commonly misunderstood. People tend to pick them out and conclude that baptism is necessary for us to be saved. Another common theme is to take Old Testament scripture out of context as well.
The reason I am dead set on bringing an accurate understanding of the book of Acts is that the book deals with this very subject... law vs grace. The point of the book of Acts is for us believers to know and understand that there is no deed or work we can do to ‘earn’ our salvation. Our salvation cannot be earned, it’s a gift from God. God requires faith, not our works which are filthy as rags.
The reason I am getting into heaven isn’t because I followed some 10 step program, or because I was baptized... it’s literally because I placed ALL my trust, hope and faith in the only savior that could redeem me! I placed all my trust in Jesus Christ, that’s why I’m saved!!

Salvation is by faith, nothing change that, it was given to us with the sacrifice of Jesus. How can we obtain? By faith. Now, even satan knows who Jesus is, what makes the difference is because we repent of our old person and submit to Jesus, once we believe we have the promise of salvation. When we baptize we submit and repent in his name and become a new person, sealed with his holy ghost. There are a few exceptions, yes. But we cannot count this as true. Paul did not preach anything different. When Paul said Jesus did not send him to baptize does not mean we should not baptize, he was telling to an existing church that it was good that he did not baptize them so they dont say they baptize under Paul or Peter, but under Jesus christ.

@@mkovis8587 Lack of understanding will make you come to the conclusion you did. First, the Greek word for baptism is Baptizó (βαπτίζω) which means to dip, immerse, to go under water. Second, the Bible teaches you, along with the Greek definition of baptism, that baptism means water in Acts 8:36-39; 1 Peter 3:21, 22; and John 3:3, 5.
Obedience to what Jesus said do is what saves us. Jesus commands us to be baptized, and he told his apostles to teach and baptize (Baptizó) in Matt. 28:18-20.

Since you brought up Lutherans, I'll be the resident Lutheran here...so, when Lutherans say "baptism saves" what we don't mean is, by going through the "act" of being baptized, a person is saved, as if baptism is the "efficient cause" of salvation. To say "baptism saves" is no different than saying "preaching saves". If a Baptist were to say "preaching saves" every other Baptist would instantly know what is being expressed. "Preaching saves" doesn't mean every single person listening to a sermon is automatically saved; it means that the Gospel comes to a person through the sound of the preacher's voice and that the Holy Spirit through the Gospel pounds away at the human heart to work faith in Christ (Paul said the Gospel is the "power of God", after all). Baptism does the same. It is God's Gospel communicated through water. Saying water is just a symbol doesn't help here because words are just symbols too but in both cases - preaching and baptism - the Gospel is being communicated, by God, to the individual. Spoken words are not visible but water is, so baptism is the "visible Word of God" to use St Augustine's phrase. Or, as the Reformation Lutherans were fond of saying, Baptism is the "visible Gospel" and so brings the same promise and has the same power as preaching. So yes, a person can come to faith and be saved through preaching. In fact, all adults before baptism must already be believers in Christ. But that doesn't empty baptism of it's promise or announcement, namely, that in Christ, all your sins have been swallowed up by the eternal logos, who hung on a tree, granting full remission of all your sins. That Gospel, which to every Christian is full of power and comfort, comes in preaching, bread, wine, and in water, working faith, newness of life, regeneration, and salvation. Amen and amen.

It is virtually undisputed truth that man is saved by divine grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). However, some have concluded from this fact that there is nothing that man can or must do for his salvation. It is frequently argued that "water baptism can't possibly be necessary for salvation because it is a work of man. Man is not saved by works." Such an objection however, betrays a misunderstanding of the meaning of justification by works. In recent articles, we have defined the doctrine of justification by works from the Scriptures. We have also noted that saving faith is completed by obedience (James 2:22).
The difficulty for those who reject water baptism as essential for salvation is the multitude of passages describing its purpose and consequences. These passages clearly indicate the necessity of water baptism for salvation.
For example, on the Day of Pentecost, the apostles taught that water baptism is "" (Acts 2:38). There are some who would try to argue that the preposition "for" in this expression means "because of," a view which fits neither the normal meaning of the preposition nor harmonizes with other passages on the purpose of water baptism. The same expression "for the remission of sins" is found in Matthew 26:28; "" I have yet to meet anyone who argues that Jesus shed His blood "because of" the remission of sins, i.e., because sins were already remitted.
"" (Acts 2:37). It is amazing the apostles didn't tell these believing Jews they were already saved! Those who embrace the "saved by faith only" doctrine would have told them that. The apostles didn't pray the "sinner's prayer" with them, accepting Jesus into their lives as their personal Savior. Why can't those who claim to believe the Bible simply tell the believer today exactly what the apostles told believers on that Pentecost: ""?
Baptism is obviously symbolic. Is it then just a "reenactment" of the believer's salvation? Although some favor this view of water baptism, such is not what the apostle Paul wrote about baptism. We are baptized "" (Romans 6:3), "" (Romans 6:4). Paul did not suggest that baptism is symbolic of the believer's salvation; he compared the believer's baptism to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. In baptism the sinner is "buried" with Christ, but the comparison doesn't stop there. Paul wrote, "" (vs. 4). Jesus was raised from the dead and came out of the tomb; so also the buried sinner is raised spiritually as he comes out of the water of baptism. "Newness" has reference to quality rather than time. The person who once was dead in sin has now been made alive by the working of God (Colossians 2:12).
Paul observed that the Galatians had baptized "into" Christ (Galatians 3:27). Can anyone be saved "apart from" Christ? In the same text, he noted those who were baptized into Christ, had put on Christ. Can we be saved without "putting on" Christ?
Saving faith is completed by obedience. Water baptism doesn't "earn" salvation any more than any other individual act of obedience causes the doer to merit salvation. In fact, the person baptized for the remission of sins is seeking the favor of God in the form of forgiveness -- hardly the action of one seeking to be justified by his own works! Water baptism, however, does serve to complete the faith of the believer (James 2:14-16).

I decided I wanted Jesus in my heart at the age of 5 and asked my mom to help me. I remember the time period, the place and what I was doing which was taking my vitamins with juice after eating breakfast. Also I believe I felt the devil's presence in a particular room before I got saved. I think he knew that he was going to lose me to Jesus Christ and God. And he was really trying to scare or freak me out. Anyway I didn't get baptized until the age of 17 mostly due to the fear of water and being dunked. As I was dunked in pools by cruel kids when I was growing up and it traumatized me. Also before that I didn't even want any water touching my face or head as I thought it would hurt or kill me.I finally decided to get baptized as I trusted that the pastor wouldn't drop me or let me drown. Anyway thought I would share. God Bless!

He forgives us for not being able to do these things. Baptism is something that every Christian SHOULD do, just as they SHOULD love their brothers and sisters and the lost, but does this mean that if they do not do this, or if they fall to sin and later repent, that they are not saved?

I grew up as a baptist and fought against baptism being needed for salvation. I once spoke the same as Piper and others. I also reworded the word of God to fit my lack of believe. Why?
We are saved by grace THROUGH faith. True faith is belief trust and obedience. Hebrews 11 gives us an account of what true faith is. If you truly believe the word of God the you trust in the commandments given to you and that trust leads to obedience.
Being dipped into water does not save, the water does not hold some special antidote to sin. But it’s the humbling your self to God in baptism. In that moment you are united with Christ and you bury the old man and are raised a new.
“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?”
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:4-6, 8-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬
Have true faith a faith that follows the word of God over the word of men. Please stop following the man and follow your one and only true God. Please have the faith that trusts the word of God and be baptized for the remission of your sin.

I'm still of the opinion that water baptism was to bring Jews to repentance. That is the key in my mind, repentence, not water baptism.
I repented and asked said I believe Jesus died and rose again and asked for Him to come into my life as Lord and Saviour. Then I felt an amazing feeling come over me like I've never felt in my life. The whole room was filled with peace, like nothing else existed but peace. I experienced the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Also the change of heart and desires that followed that life changing experience. Well, I was dead, but now I'm alive, so that's something you notice.
I had what I can only describe as a glowing feeling for a good week or two after that. A lightness due to the burden of sin being lifted from me. It's a real noticeable change, if you are born again you will have no doubt about it, you'll know. Jesus `finished' it. Jesus baptises us. I'm not saying to get water baptised is a bad thing, but it's a picture of the real thing.
    Matthew 3:11

Jorge Torres baptism is for our benefit. All believers in the New covenant were baptized immediately into water ( or buried into Christ Jesus). The Holy Spirit baptizes us into the one body of Christ by using other believers 1 Corinthians 12:13. Being set free and filled with the Holy Spirit always happens then by asking Jesus to fill us with His Holy Spirit. This is a supernatural event just like the Lords Supper. There are no rituals or symbols in the New covenant.

Paul teaches in Ephesians 4:5 that there is one baptism. We know from Matthew 3:11 that Jesus baptized with the Holy Spirit, and later on in Matthew 28:19 we are commanded by Jesus to baptize all people on earth. Jesus baptized with the Holy Spirit, (Luke 3:16), so that leaves only one choice left. The "one baptism" of scripture must therefore be the baptism of the Great Commission.

I love John Piper and I have a deep respect for him and his work but I've got to disagree with him on this one...
You are united to Christ through faith in the water of baptism. Baptism is not a "work of merit." To suggest that it is is to misunderstand it. Almost no one who believes a person is saved at the point of water baptism believes baptism is somehow "earning your salvation." We are instructed to "call on the name of the Lord" in the water of baptism (Acts 22). The water does not save or have any power. There is no power in the water and there is no merit in going to the water. Going to the water is done only in recognition of a person's inability to save themselves and recognition that they need to "call on the name of the Lord" so He can do what they can't. I absolutely agree with John that the power is not in the water. A person is saved by faith as their heart calls on God for grace in the water of baptism.
Why do we "call on" on God through baptism? I don't know, that's just the way God told us to do it.
To suggest Acts 2:38 and Acts 22 ("forgiveness of your sins" and "wash away your sins") are not referring to the point of justification throws up some serious red flags. What is justification if not the washing away of our sins by receiving the righteousness of Christ?
John's illustration of the man grabbing his hat and running for the train might be ok if Acts 2:38 was the only passage in the Bible that spoke of baptism this way but it isn't. What about the great commission? Jesus tells the Apostles to go to the world, preach, and baptize. Mar 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Matthew's record of the commission also includes baptism. Galatians 3:27 says we are baptized "into Christ" and that those baptized have "put on Christ." Keep in mind, Galatians is Paul's writing. Those words seem to confirm the words surrounding his own conversion in Acts 22.
I just don't understand why people are so quick to put baptism back on the "nonessential list" when its importance is stated again and again in the New Testament. I don't believe any person who is free of theological biases would pick up and read the Bible for the first time and walk away with the idea that baptism isn't a key part of justification. There are too many texts that plainly say otherwise. The audience in Acts 2:38 came to this same conclusion which is why 3,000 were baptized that same day.

Philip 1 of the 7, chosen in Acts 6:5, is clearly designated in the Bible as an evangelist (Acts 21:8). Going down to Samaria he preached Christ there (Acts 8:5). And then: “Acts 8:12-13 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Simon himself believed and was baptized. (…)” This passage (Acts 8) highlighting the acts of Philip the evangelist very clearly mentions water baptism. It cannot honestly be confused with the baptism of the Holy Spirit (v. 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.).
Another example with the eunuch (Acts 8:26-40). “v.35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.” And what happens then; “36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” [37] [c] 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.”
My questions are, what in the message that Philip the evangelist, preached in his gospel led these different people to be baptized? What place did baptism occupy in his preaching of the good news?
Why did Peter still command Cornelius and his house (not babies, but repentant believers) to be baptized, even though they had already received the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:48)?
And that thrilling passage (Acts 18:24-19:7) “18:24 Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. 25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately. (…) 19:1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? ”They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. 4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.”
Why does Paul not just leave them like that, since they have already obviously repented(19:4) and believed (19:2)? Why does he continue with another water baptism and the laying on of hands so that they may receive the Holy Spirit?
In conclusion, I think deeply in my heart that water baptism should be part of evangelism. Just as much as repentance in fruits and active faith, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16; Jesus adds that not believing is enough to be condemned - implying that baptism without faith cannot save, which includes all ritual infant baptisms, or other rituals performed according to traditions). For me it's the general rule. While not excluding the Sovereign exceptions that confirm the rule.
    Blessings in Christ.

Salvation is a path not merely an event - that's why it was called "The Way." You are saved so long as you are on "The Way." You "were saved" at first faith. You are saved from slavery to sin in water baptism (Rom 6, Col2:11-13). You are "being saved" through sanctification. And you "will be saved" if you endure in faith to the end (of your natural life). These are the three tenses used in the New Testament concerning salvation.

I am from the Christian Church/Church of Christ, and we always baptize, usually as soon as someone accepts Christ as their personal savior, just as the Ethiopian eunuch immediately was baptized by Philip.(See Acts 8) We follow Act 2:38 as the way to salvation, and I just wanted to say if you are a faithful believer and have repented of your sins, don't wait. Find some water and a Christian friend to baptize you. I believe baptism can really help you to start your new life as a Christ follower and without it you are missing out on something wonderful.

I have talked with a member of the Church of Christ, talked to others about it, and read up on their doctrinal statements they have posted on their website and it is evident that they believe and preach a different gospel than Jesus preached. I'm sure you are, but I encourage you to read and study the scriptures daily and not take this subject matter lightly, since this type of teaching can actually be damnable if it is false. God stopped him at the last moment and that’s when it was credited to hill s as righteousness. The act was necessary not simply the faith.

When the thief was on the cross, Jesus was there beside him - obviously. According to Mark 2:10 ("But that you may know, the Son of Man has authority on Earth to forgive sins), Jesus could forgive that man's sins because Jesus was alive then. It's just like if I had a car (forgiveness of sins in this analogy), I could give it to anyone I wanted while I was alive, but as soon as I die, people would have to look at my will (the Bible in Jesus's case) to see who gets it (everyone) what to do to get the car (belief, repent, confess that Jesus is the Lord, be baptised and live a faithful life).
Also, the thief was saved before Jesus died on the cross, meaning it was still the Old Covenant, and not relevant to us today. It's just like sacrificing lambs - we don't do it anymore because Jesus died on the cross.

But I tend to have a similar opinion on that as John Piper does. If it's possible the bible really prompts you to be baptized in water. But if it's not possible, for example, someone who turns to Jesus and believes on the death bed just goes to heaven as the thief on the cross did. Otherwise, if you still obligate it in such situations it really fast goes into lovelessness, in some catholic cultures, it was common to cut open a childbearing woman at any practical area of the body just to "rescue" a child by baptizing it before it dies. Otherwise, it would go into hell the women always bled to death that just though law without love and to me pretty much Jesus' parable of the cow which stuck in the fountain on the sabbath.

I can believe that something written in the Bible is true without believing that I should do that something. When the Bible implicitly gives a command to every man, I must believe it and obey it (James 1:17-22). But the Bible contains more than commands to be followed today, for example, commands to individuals. When God commanded Noah to build an ark, that instruction was not meant for every Christian (Genesis 6:14). Why? Because the flood had already come. There is no need to build an ark today. Likewise, the purpose for miracles has ended: Jesus already proved He is the Son of God; the Bible is complete; and there are no more apostles; therefore, we don’t need miracles and Christians today are not subject to Mark 16:17-18. We must believe, because it is scripture, that the believers were authenticated by miracles in the first century. However I must not believe that these miracles are for me to prove my faith because the word of God and my works prove my faith for me (Romans 10:17, James 2:17-20).

Based on Luke 3:16, and Acts 11:15-16, and Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27, the most important thing about the word "baptism" in the New Testament, has nothing to do with water. What were they baptized with in that passage? Unfortunately, many Christians see water every time they read the word "baptized". Nobody should ever be baptized in water without an explanation of the baptism of the Spirit found in Luke 3:16.
In John chapter 3 Christ explained to Nicodemus, that a person must be "born again" of the Spirit of God, in order to inherit the kingdom of God.

In Acts 2:38 Peter is addressing Jews....not Gentiles. The instruction was to be baptized first, then receive the holy spirit. But let's remember that the Book of Acts is historical narrative and teaches a transition from the OT salvation for the Jews to the NT salvation to both Jews and Gentiles. Why did it go form just Jews to now Jews and Gentiles? Because the Jews rejected their kingdom and cut themselves off from it until the end time tribulation. Their rejection of the kingdom opened the door for the Gentiles and Paul received a new revelation of the Gospel that provided Jews an opportunity to still get saved while providing Gentiles salvation. This new revelation Paul received is salvation by Grace through Faith apart from the law of Moses. Acts 13:39; Romans 4:5-12; Ephesians 2:8-9
    SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
JESUS to Jews: Faith and obedience to the law is imputed as righteousness. Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 6:26
PAUL to Gentiles: Faith apart from obedience to the law is imputed as righteousness. Acts 13:39; Romans 4:5-12; Ephesians 2:8-9
The first Gentiles who were saved came 9 years after Acts 2:38 and Cornelius received the holy spirit before he was baptized in Jesus name. There was no water present, so Peter asks the Jews that were with him a rhetorical question: would anyone deny them water to be baptized? It's rhetorical because there is no water. Of course no one would deny them water if they could have because they already witnessed Cornelius receive the holy spirit....so why would they deny him water for baptism....IF THERE WAS WATER....which there wasn't. So Cornelius and his household were baptized into Jesus name. They were in someone's house...there was no body of water to baptize anyone.
In Act 22:16 Paul is recalling his conversion experience in Acts 9 in which the scales fell from his eyes in Acts 9:17-18. Paul receives the spirit in verse 17 by the laying on of hands. Then it states that Paul got up and was Baptized. They were in someone's house....there was no body of water there. This couldn't have been water Baptism. Paul was Baptized into Jesus name without water. We do know Paul received the spirit before being baptized into the name of Jesus. I examined all the Baptisms that take place in the Book of Acts and I can say for certain there is no set pattern for Baptism that one can take as a ritual or ordnance for all times. Using Acts as a basis for Church Age doctrines that apply to the Body of Christ is a recipe for heresy.
Water Baptism was for the Jews....not for the Gentiles.
The Book of Acts teaches us about a transition that took place from Peter's Gospel for the Jews to Paul's Gospel for both Jews and Gentiles.
The transition is marked by Paul's preaching in Acts 13 and throughout the rest of Acts.
Acts 13:39 contains a message from Paul that none of the Twelve Apostles preached in Acts.
Salvation became faith apart from works of the law for the first time in Acts 13:39
Prior to that, salvation was by faith plus works of the law.
Four years after Acts 13:39 Paul told Peter about the revelation of the Gospel he received (see Acts 15). Then in Acts 21, another 8 years later, we still find the remaining Eleven Apostles are teaching Jews obedience to the law of Moses.
Paul does not teach water Baptism. Paul teaches ONE BAPTISM ONLY....and it's the spirit baptism that takes place when a person believes (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
If water baptism saves, then Jesus died for nothing and Paul is a liar.
Now tell me what you believe about Baptism.

Then salvation is works. How can a person lying in the hospital bed hours from his death be saved? So even if he accepted the gospel repented, and put his trust in Jesus Christ، he would still be unsaved? What about the thief on the cross? So the work of Christ is not complete, it requires your act of getting into the water to get saved?

    • @ThreeQuartersCrazed
      @ThreeQuartersCrazed 4 года назад +3

@@perrytheplatypus7661 "Then salvation is by works." No one believes that baptism is a meritorious act that can obligate God to save you. Baptism is God's work in the sinner, not the sinner's work. I also find this argument ironic because baptism is very easy. You don't do anything except let someone else dunk you in water. Faith, however, is very hard because it goes against our sin nature. If baptism is a work, faith would have to be a work too.
"How can a person lying in a hospital bed hours from his death be saved?" Historically immersion has been the preferred method of baptism, but pouring was considered acceptable in cases where immersion was impossible (see, for example, an early church document called the Didache).
"So even if he accepted the gospel [and] repented, and put his trust in Jesus Christ, would he still be unsaved?" The baptismal regeneration position acknowledges God's mercy in cases where baptism was truly impossible. But even if God decided to damn everyone who never received baptism, would you be able to accuse him of being unjust? If not, then you have no argument, because that's the worst case scenario.
"What about the thief on the cross?" The command to baptize was given to the apostles in the great commission, which was AFTER the thief's death. No one believes that all people for all time needed baptism. It is only for the post-pentacost age of the church.
"So the work of Christ is not complete, it requires your act of getting into the water to get saved?" Any argument that can be turned around and used against you as well is not a good argument. One could just as easily say, "So you think the work of Christ is incomplete, because it requires your faith?" And then you're stuck with universalism. Everyone who's not a Universalist puts some kind of prerequisite on salvation. That doesn't mean the work of Christ is incomplete. It just means that God has chosen a particular means of salvation.
To conclude, I think this question is usually asked incorrectly. The correct question is not whether baptism is necessary or not, because even those who accept baptismal regeneration believe that it is possible in some cases to be saved without it, baptism is just the ORDINARY means of regeneration. The correct question is what happens in baptism--nothing, or a miracle of regeneration? I've been reading a lot of early church writings lately, and I haven't found one church father who didn't believe in baptismal regeneration. See, for example, "On Baptism" by Tertullian, "On the Lapsed" by Cyprian, and "Chatechetical Lectures" by Cyril of Jerusalem.

The Bible commands everyone to be baptized in more than one location but in the Book of Acts which tells the facts of the beginning of Christianity, Jesus told them after His crucifixion to go to a certain location and wait for further spiritual instruction. The Holy Ghost baptism occurred and the people in the surrounding area asked what was happening. Peter explained that the fulfillment of the plan of salvation was happening and they asked what must they do to be saved and he told them what they must do, Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized in Jesus Name and they shall receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. So repent, be baptized in water, receive Holy Ghost (Spirit). Other places in the Bible it specifically says believers are to be baptized and those whom believe do not will be damned. Yes, Jesus dearly loves you, He walks with you in this faith journey, holding your hand. His yoke is easy, His burden is light. I don’t know your situation and why you can’t be baptized right now, but Jesus does. Most of all, He sees your beautiful heart in this matter. Ask Him about this, then lay it down at His feet. You are saved the moment you believe in Him. In His time, He will provide baptism for you, I am certain. I was was baptized three times. The first time as a baby taken to church by unsaved parents who were doing what all the other families did during that time (1950’s). A second time out of fear I would go to hell, the teaching I received from a legalistic church that believed unless you were baptized in their church you couldn’t be saved. (1970’s) Then a 3rd time in the ocean with hundreds of others by Jesus-loving church where I finally understood what it meant, that I was identifying with Jesus, dying to this world and being raised to new life. But even though I went into the waters a third time in the late 1970’s, I believe I was saved the minute I believed on Oct. 6, 1974. People will say that the thief on the cross was part of the old Jewish covenant, but my understanding is that Jesus died before the thief. He cried out, “It is finished!” before the thief died because when the soldiers came to break His legs (to hasten His death), they discovered Him already dead. Then there are those who accept Christ on their deathbeds, dying minutes after salvation. They are not baptized. Please young man or woman, remember this formula. It will change your life. Jesus + nothing = salvation. It is His finished work on the cross. Baptism is beautiful and meaningful but it can’t save you. What of those who will be left behind and come to Christ after the rapture? Or those in prison? Disabled? How are they to be baptized?? 🤔
      Don’t add to the text.
We are saved by grace through faith.

Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments (John 14:15), the word of God says repent and get baptized. Jesus is the Word of God, so if you love Him then just do what He says, we can trust Him!

People (church leaders) who do believe that Baptism is needed for salvation are then faced with a serious question - why is it withheld from people pending "proof" of salvation/ commitment to Jesus? (i.e. months or year long "new believer classes" being required before one can be Baptized by a pastor.)

We are spirit soul and body. Our spirit is saved our soul is being saved and our bodies will be redeemed and we will be like Jesus. When we call on Jesus believing with our whole being and deciding to follow Jesus for our lifetime then we become a child of god . No true believe in Jesus will refuse to do his first commandment to be baptized. Baptism always followed immediately after believing and repentance.and is always full immersion. Saint Peter commanded all the believers in Cornelius household to be baptized in water or into Jesus act 10:48.

It’s amazing why Protestants and Catholics will not even be obedient to Jesus first commandment which is He that believes and is baptized will be saved. They put more trust in mans traditions than what Jesus said. A Protestant is really a reformed Catholic but we have to go back to the apostles doctrines in the Acts church. We’ve to skip the rubbish that has gone on since Constantine and obey Jesus. Be living stones of the spiritual temple as we come to Jesus 1 Peter 2:4. He that believes and is baptized will be saved Mark 16;16. Saint Peter commanded all the the spirit filled believers in Cornelius house to be baptized in water which is full immersion

We dont need to be baptized by water as a compulsion . Baptism to according to the bible is repentance and a willing heart to change towards god. Ur heart is what matter not what's outside

Teckson// Thevibranium what did Jesus say? He that believes and is baptized will be saved. Mark 16:16.If a person refuses to do Jesus first commandment how will he do the greater works mentioned in John 14:12. Saint Peter commanded the believers in Cornelius house to be baptized after they were born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. . You are right you maybe saved and go to heaven without being baptized but why would you ignore what Jesus commanded? Baptism always followed immediately after believing and repentance and was always full immersion in water (because it is a burial of your old man Romans 6:2-6.)The Holy Spirit baptizes us into Christ body in baptism 1 Corinthians 12:13.using other believers or disciples who know what baptism is. There are no symbols or rituals in the New covenant for Christ Jesus is the substance Colossians 2:17. Go and get baptized like the 3000 believers did in Acts 2:41.without argument. Jesus knows best. All blessings from Ireland. Torben on youtube is great teacher on baptism.

@@hawkeye2958 you need to rightly divide the word. James was written for the 12 tribes of Israel alive during the tribulation not the body of Christ which is saved by grace through faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ. If you don't rightly divide the word it certainly can get very confusing and seemingly contradicting. Paul's epistles are written for the body of Christ as Jesus gave him that status as our apostle for today

@@hawkeye2958 I never said throw out any of the bible. It is all profitable for our learning and understanding but we must differentiate what was written in covenant and prophecy for Israel and what is mystery revelation given to Paul from Jesus Christ for us in the Body of Christ. 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs to "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, Rightly Dividing the word of truth." The bible clearly teaches there are specific instructions and promises to Israel and to the Body of Christ which consists of neither Jew nor Gentile. When you blend the two together it creates all kinds of confusion and false doctrine. But again I 100% agree that all the bible is God's word and profitable but we must pay attention to the specific changes in instruction and who He is writing to and in what time period. I hope this is helpful and edifying. When you learn to rightly divide the scriptures so much confusion gets put away. Gods not the author of confusion

1 John 1:8-10 - "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
