I have a B50 string on my Damon Howatt Hunter that has been on the bow for 15yrs. The BH hasnt changed one bit cuz it was purchased from a quality string builder. And! Its a 12 strand instead of a 14 strand which is what the bow is supposed to have. Rock solid!
Just for kicks and gibbles ;-) I slid my silencers up the string and added a set of cat whiskers and man it made a huge difference. I’ve been seeing a lot of strings with double sets of silencers. The shooting experience is still not as soft as B55 but I do shoot better with the D97 ESPECIALLY now that the feedback is more to my liking. Now when someone shoots my bow I can barely tell the noise difference between the strings. However, I have an expectation of what my trad bow feedback is going to be. And when it doesn’t meet my expectation it gets into my head. As far as I’m concerned I now have the combination I need. Thanks for the information
Mr. Phillips I have aquired a Bodnik Slick Stick recurve and a Slick Stick longbow. Both Bows are marked 40#@28 but they are both 45#@28 on a bow scale. They have Micarta limb tips. Can I use a dyna flight 97 fast flight string on these bows?
Now, I am in total agreement that TTT makes THE BEST trad strings. For me though, I wished they weee a tad larger. More strands. This is the thinnest string I have ever shot. I am one that does not care about speed. Just COMFORT and accuracy, which the latter is all me. So Trevor, if you are seeing this, maybe make a string to at has 2-4 more strands of D97??? It would feel so much better on my fingers. Again, I am one the at the word speed means nothing to me. I think with my brain and not testosterone. Just like golf. I don’t have to hit the ball a mile. Just down the middle of the fairway. Hope this makes sense.
@@pickin4you Thanks brother and these are actually 16 strands I do believe and not as thin as some of the earlier ones which were probably 14 strand 👍🏻
My TTT string looks like it might be twice the diameter of the Mercury string on my Stalker longbow. The mercury string has some FAT serving on it though and the nocks fit well.
@@HolisticHealthDave yes sir and the reason I can’t leave a link for TTT Strings is because they don’t want to be any larger than they are right now so they do not have a website only the Facebook page and I can’t leave a Facebook page link but that’s where he takes orders from 👍🏻

Anyone can make a string this Trevor fella hasn't got a magic ingredient young lad here in Australia makes excellent strings he is only 16 so Anyone can do it
Making Flemish strings are easy to do if you make or buy Flemish string jig. I’ve made all my strings 14 strand bcy x and added another 8 strands on each string loop end. Pre stretch to 180lbs after making them. On all my trad bows about 12, draw length 27” bow weight 53-54 lbs 650 grain arrow velocity is between 160-165fps. Making strings is like making arrows or reloading ammo. Fun and saves you money!
I’m sure those are great strings but I build my own with the “limp noodle” b55 and I prestretch them and have little to no stretching. I think the guys that have trouble with stretching b55 aren’t getting well made strings. Also going up in spine for 4 fps gain seems a little wild but I’ve seen crazier things
I have one. 62”-45@28. It’s a great bow for me with a B55 string and a quiver. I draw about 29” and with a TTT string it shoots 168fps, but I hate the way it feels, sounds and shakes. A heavy Gunshy quiver was the ticket. With a B55 string it shoots 163. I shoot the wet noodle string I just prefer how it feels and sounds. All I’ve tried is B55 strings from 3 rivers. I just got one for my Stalker and the serving is separating the second day I used it. Ohh getting strings for the Galaxy is a PIA. It’s longer than the Stalker. If you get a 59” string for the 62” Galaxy it’ll be waaaay too short.
@@DixieBowhunter-m5g Same here I really like it. I like the Stalker better, but it did cost six times as much. However, at ETAR I shot a LOT of expensive bows and there was only two three-piece takedowns I like better. I shot a Toelke Whip that was excellent. Be aware that you can't get a typical 59" string for your Galaxy and expect it to have anywhere near a 7-8" brace height. Strung it is longer than my 62" Stalker. Other than the grip there isn't much difference in shooting between the Galaxy and ANY of the bows I shot at ETAR. That includes the massive collection of Black Widows and I shot just about every one of them. I just wanted a sorta custom bow. The Galaxy hybrid is no slouch. It just isn't. Take care.
