One guy is a "writer" who no company wants to touch because of his brain dead ideas. The other is best known for being the nephew of dixie Carter. Yet, they are experts.
Brain dead ideas which saw 2 of the 3 companies he was head writer for reach record high viewership, while WCW's viewership was showing signs of gradual improvement during both of his runs there, contrary to popular belief. You don't get praise from the likes of Austin, Rock, Angle, Michaels, Foley and Jericho (to name a few) if you have brain dead ideas.
@@josereyes1148 You've clearly put out the Russo was a complete failure spin plenty of times as well. Maybe try looking at the numbers which back him up.
@@TheNextStep851 The numbers back him up because he spins them. His direction In WCW sucked, which is why they wanted him out of the role a few months in. He spins it that they wanted him to be part of a booking team so he went home, which is true. He leaves out that they wanted him to be apart of a booking team because they hated his ideas. A successful guy doesn't get demoted three months in. That's an example of taking something that is true and spinning it so that you're not at fault. And I never said he was a complete failure. That's you spinning what I said to win an argument. I said he had brain dead ideas. Which he did. And Vince McMahon got Alot of praise as well. That doesn't mean he didn't have terrible ideas.
@@josereyes1148 How does he spin them? The numbers are the numbers. There is no spinning them. They are factual data. "His direction in WCW sucked" - completely subjective. I thought it was a huge improvement on what WCW was throughout 1999 before he got there, and clearly the viewers thought so because they were tuning back into Nitro. Regarding WCW wanting him out within a few months because of supposed bad booking, this is false. Kevin Sullivan and JJ Dillon have talked about this on Sullivan's podcast a couple of years ago. JJ got Sullivan his job back over Russo's head which is why Russo cut that scathing promo on him when he showed up in TNA. In JJ's own words, he wanted to get his buddy a payday on the Titanic and saw the opportunity to do it because management had some woman from the music industry that knew nothing about wrestling handling contracts. Then factor in Hogan and Flair wanting to keep their spot at the top of the card. Did backstage politics suddenly cease to exist or do we just conveniently ignore that so there's 1 more reason to trash Russo's booking? In those 3 months, Russo took Nitro from 2.6 - 3.4. He had the viewership up by 20% in his first 2 weeks and they only dropped below 3.0 twice (in December). That's actually quite remarkable given how long it generally takes a TV show to grow its audience. RAW in 1997 took 9 months to consistently do 3.0+ ratings.

However I think you nailed it because at the moment Triple H is wanting this version of the Bloodline a bunch of ruthless unapologetic blood thirsty killers and the audience is definitely buying it with the now constant Roman chants as fans are already wanting Roman to come back now to confront Solo and company. But we still have months of them continuing to bully Paul Heyman (which the fans are loving right now) as well as terrorizing anyone on the main roster including Cody at some point. I respect Russos takes often but the comparison to the NWO isn't the same at all here. In my opinion other than the CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre feud This bloodline story is all most care about right now.
@@billylindsey3678 ya to me its drew n punk, bloodline, and whatevers going on with karrion kross lol jk
@@TheNextStep851 yes, I've heard this Russo was perfect spin plenty of times.
I got sick to death of watching that paper champion Roman Reigns and his gang of thugs. THIS is an extension of something that was already boring and overplayed.
You don't like it, OK, but you can't say it's overplayed. It's still the storyline that draws the most in wrestling, and its climax is coming soon.
@@pkj2148bro it's definitely overplayed but on top of that they're just building these guys up just to lose to the original bloodline because if u think they're gonna have Solo beat Roman you've lost your damn mind 😂😂
@@countyboy3988 It will be overplayed when the majority will be sick of it. That isn't the case.
