It feels like everyone is taken into account for consideration no matter their color and also that all people share the same dreams. That's the way to go!
No question. Unequivocally. THE BEST law school day-in-the-life I've ever seen. I love your editing style and your content so much. I mean seriously, a 'What's in my bag?' WITHIN a day-n-the-life? Well played. PLEASE keep it up! Really, I'm begging you...
Can you talk more about how you scan and bound your books. Do you scan them personally, how long does it take, and can you get in trouble for this? I'd love to do this, just don't know how to go about it. Thanks!
Lol honestly, the only part of my law school experience that was a breeze was first semester 3L and that’s because I was abroad. Law school gets progressively better, but I def don’t think this semester will be easy. And I get to bed a lot earlier on the days when I don’t have classes.
This was an enligntening Video. It was great to see highly ambitious black law students, getting along and supporting each other. From my experience. This is rare in elite Colleges and universities.
Thanks for this inspiration for my future 1L year. I’m definitely joining Black Lawyer Society. It’s my opinion but it good to network with all demographics in law school. Thanks so much for inspiring future black law students:)
This made me start my own law firm business and my own website and thank you for letting me get up and start it, this video has a very detailed art style and very inspiration details to it so I subscribed and hit that notification bell and liked the video and so thank you for letting me get up and start it because before I was fat and lazy and I wasn't really into starting anything but until I saw this. (Don't worry I have a law school under-graduate degree).
Miss Jamaica I am soooo impressed Oh my Lord. Lon,long day keep on slaying my Dear😍😍😍😍Appreciate this video thanks for sharing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷✌✌✌✌❤❤❤❤
Great video. Do you mind by chance doing an in depth video about the process of scanning and binding your books (ie: where you get them from, how long the process typically takes and costs). I'm potentially going to law school soon and think that would be a beneficial resource to learn about as a means to save money!
Hi! Barnard/Columbia undergrad here. I'm wondering how much time you spend doing homework/readings/briefs a night? Especially in comparison to the undergrad workload.
When I was an undergrad, I thought it was difficult balancing my classes, but law school is a whole different ball park. I spend a lot less time reading/briefing now because I do not brief every case, but when I was a 1L I would work well into the evenings every day. - Sam
There are about four or five scanners in our library. If the professor requests it, a book or two remains on reserve. The machine scans two pages at a time in pdf form. If you can split up the work with another student or two, it'll take approximately an hour each max.
Currently in my last semester at a community college in Rochester NY .My 3.942 GPA in Biology/Math major. I’m a Black/ Pan African do you think I will get in?
Love this video, super informative. I actually am hoping to get into a program for an exchange semester. Im a law student from Berlin Germany and we have classes with 500+ Students
So awesome! This is the first video I’ve watched on your channel & noticed that you used Indigenous music in your intro & that you have an RC Gorman painting in the background. I’m Navajo & thought that was pretty badass. Just curious - are you part of an Indigenous community?
Which program is she using for taking note? Even though I’m using my macBook for more than 4 yrs but still using the basic note program only lol help me
Two points in the video that made me laugh: 1. When you mentioned that the black students sit in the back (I swear every video you mention this😂😂😂) 2. When it's 2am and you're like "if I have time I like to read" 😂😂😂 what's your definition of not enough time?? 6am? 😂😂😂
Tho I’m late to this video I have to say that I like the American lecture halls(?) more than mine here bc where I study it holds between 200-500 people depending on which I’m in and the tables are sooo much smaller like in one of them they are no bigger than an A4 paper 🤭😂 so nice to see the comparison America vs Germany(at least from what I know)
Not dumb at all, there is a scanner in our library that scans two pages at a time. It came out of the printing amount that is allocated to us each semester; the cost is already covered in our tuition and fees.
Curious what your Lsat score was , and your application process? Did you do any internship before applying to Columbia? I am in art school and aiming to apply to Columbia. thank you so much.
Yes, I have committed to the investment funds group at my firm. Although I dabbled with the idea of going JD/MBA when I was in undergrad and in my first year of law school, I ultimately decided not to do it. This semester, I have cross-registered into a business school class, and I realized that I have some regrets. I do not have any tips on the process or the likes, but if it is something you actually want to do, go for it. I do not know anyone who regrets doing it, and if you decide to work in the private sector, a number of employers will provide a MBA bonus which surpasses any additional costs. - Sam
I am currently taking my bachelor's degree, and now I am confused if I will be having my second bachelor's degree, or go straight to law school? Thank you!
If I leave on time, I take a route where I do not have to go through a toll lol. If I do have to go through, I take the west side highway so its $2.60 with an easy pass. Parking on some days is a lot worse than others, but if I leave early enough, I'm usually good. It is a struggle!! but I've gotten use to it. Still wouldn't recommend it to anyone lol.
It is really unhealthy, but I'm so accustomed to it that it doesn't really affect my productivity throughout the day. However, I get a lot more sleep on the days when I do not have classes.
God bless you, and I hope you have a beautiful life serving the Lord and bringing the light of God to others. May I recommend reading the Bible every day !!!
you DRIVE to school? how far do you live from campus? would u suggest getting a place in the city or a little further out especially if you dont have a car? Great vid btw!!
I live about a 15-20 min drive out. However, this is my first semester off campus. I would suggest living as close as possible-especially if you’re not from NY. It’s a bit more expensive, but if affordable, the convenience is worth the sacrifice.
I stopped caring as much about cold calls after my 1L year. You realize after a semester or so that it doesn’t affect your performance on exams and no one remembers them except you lol. Even still, I have that voice in the back of my head telling me that I’m going to sound like I don’t know what I’m talking about so I read footnotes a lot more carefully and anticipate any questions I may be asked. -Sam
Do you not find it detrimental to still find you are segregating yourself? You mentioned only knowing the black people in your class. Why aren't you trying to better understand diversity and culture among the other student body?
I'm happy to see more African-American people in an Ivy League law school. This encourages me.
Right!!! My eyes feel blessed to see this👏
me too

I deadass have PTSD from the alarm you had at the beginning. Like I started fidgeting.
Like I am disgusted

One of the only videos that actually explained what it’s like
Awesome video! I'm a black, undergrad student studying computer science. I know those late nights all too well!
I’ll be attending Columbia this fall! This video was so informative. Thanks so much for the video!
Congrats!! If you come to the admitted students weekend say hi! -Angel
Angel & Sam LLP Thanks so much! I definitely will. I’ll be attending the School of General Studies for English.
Thanks for this video! I was recently accepted and am also black, so this was encouraging to see! Going to binge watch your entire channel.
Thank you to all who make these "in the day and the life of" these video's are key, whether it's medical, business, or law

I loved this! The editing is very good. Sam are very charismatic. Loved watching you go through your day. My favorite type of vid!
eye opening and super impressed! I got a few tips for my own studying in undergrad
5:35 LOL I love how blunt you are. and GIRL do you only get 4 hrs of sleep every night?! I thought 3L was supposed to be a breeze
Lol honestly, the only part of my law school experience that was a breeze was first semester 3L and that’s because I was abroad. Law school gets progressively better, but I def don’t think this semester will be easy. And I get to bed a lot earlier on the days when I don’t have classes.
My dream is to go to law school in NY, maybe even Columbia and you make it seem so possible ❤️ An inspiration fr!
Love the intro and thanks for a great video. So proud of you!
honestly, one of the best videos i've seen for columbia law school!
You are awesome! That's one hell of a schedule...I got tired just watching!
When I saw them vinyl CDs, I knew this was gonna be the best day in the life ever
The Law library probably has the most antiquated furniture...you should try the engineering library
Thanks for the tip.
Hey!!! Good luck on law school!!!
All the best from Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦
would love to see yall make a video on how expensive law school was and the expenses in the city while you both were going to law school!

I was thinking it was a lot of black students. I was jealous for a moment. 😂😂😂 I am in the Columbia School of Social Work in my last semester!
Lol Good luck with your last semester! Let's finish strong, sis.

Lovely video 💕💕 that’s a long day at school 😱
do you get to take time to exercise? it helps me think better for school
Same! I only have classes M-W so I try to go as much as possible on my off days, and I do heated bikram on Saturday mornings.
My name is Sam as well 😊 I’m interested in law school but I haven’t made any moves yet 🙄🤦🏾♀️ but now I’m inspired ❤️
You sealed the deal for me. I chose my school. I am so excited!
Congrats 🍾
I was so hyped when I saw all the black law students, lol thanks for the disclaimer.

Good luck!
I was born in Manhattan, & raised in the Bronx. Where do u live, & y do u drive instead of taking public transportation?
I lived in Yonkers during this time, so that was the fastest way to get to the upperwest side.
Could you talk about your preparation of the LSAT exam? Anything would help right now because I’m struggling
The best advice I can give is to practice as much as you can and stay positive. Good luck! -Angel
I was like wow, I didn't know that many POC were attending Columbia, until you said it was a meeting. Was that an NBLSA meeting?
Sorry, I may have been unclear. I meant that it wasn’t an actual class. We all attend CLS. It was a CLS BLSA meeting.
So awesome! This is the first video I’ve watched on your channel & noticed that you used Indigenous music in your intro & that you have an RC Gorman painting in the background. I’m Navajo & thought that was pretty badass. Just curious - are you part of an Indigenous community?
Were your classes and school activities daily throughout the week?
YAAS -- that is what us minorities will always have in common -- our love of Viet Cajun seafood!!! Love you guys so much for loving that stuff.
Which program is she using for taking note? Even though I’m using my macBook for more than 4 yrs but still using the basic note program only lol help me
its called OneNote its a program by microsoft
Two points in the video that made me laugh:

2. When it's 2am and you're like "if I have time I like to read" 😂😂😂 what's your definition of not enough time?? 6am? 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 I guess I’m saltier than I realized that they don’t want to sit with me lmao. I haven’t had classes with my front of the room friends in a while.
And to the reading before bed lol, it usually depends on whether I plan on waking up super early to do work before leaving the house
Tho I’m late to this video I have to say that I like the American lecture halls(?) more than mine here bc where I study it holds between 200-500 people depending on which I’m in and the tables are sooo much smaller like in one of them they are no bigger than an A4 paper 🤭😂 so nice to see the comparison America vs Germany(at least from what I know)
Amazing video! When you say you scanned the book instead of buying it - literally stood scanning page for page? Or downloaded and then printed?
Stood there page for page lol. 2 pages at a time. It doesn’t take as long as it sounds, but it does take a while.
This may sound dumb...but how did you scan all those pages? Was there a cost?
Not dumb at all, there is a scanner in our library that scans two pages at a time. It came out of the printing amount that is allocated to us each semester; the cost is already covered in our tuition and fees.
@@Sistersinlaw Thank you! You just gave me a new idea!

Is law school about memorizing or more understanding concepts.
More understanding concepts and applying rules/ standards by arguing both sides

You are awesome..... 💖💖
Do you have any tips or advice on how to get scholarships for law school and how to get a high lsat score?
I’ve never though to scan an entire book and then get it bound. About how much did that cost?
I think it cost about $5 dollars to bind it, and printing costs are already covered in our fees
Great vid as usual
I know this video más made 3y ago but can I asked you what’s was your undergraduates major?
Political science
Sheesh! That intro sound is 🔥 🔥 🔥
Where was the restaurant with the crab?
Can we talk about that drive to the city though, topped with finding parking and fees..
Then you gotta do again all the way back.. Omg 😲 I cant

Does Columbia provide paid parkng ? My goodness where exactly do you park ? 🚘🚙
So you only sleep about 4 hours and a half each night? Would you say that's typical for the average law student?
I don't think so. I get wayyyy more sleep than this. Probably too much sleep lol. -Angel
