I don't usually travel for mine, and a lot can be done from home. To your question, some attorneys can appear in other states if they get a special permission to do so, and it's usually only for a limited scope. Thanks for watching!

Hey, I'm not sure if you continue to read your comments, but SUPER tldr of me: I graduated from UIC Law back in 2020, had to move back home to help take care of my parent. During that time, I kind of got lost a bit and ended up doing trying to get into a PhD program. I'm currently a 3rd year in a PhD program and am now realizing I made a mistake and I want to practice law. I have always wanted to go into Big Law. Do you have any recommendations? An opinion on whether I should leave the PhD and try to get a job? Whether it's too late for me? Any advice would be appreciated.

Would you recommend getting a real estate license for real estate big law? I’m applying to law schools this fall and am considering pursuing this once I get my acceptances. Thanks for all the info you provide on this channel!
I can't imagine having the license would hurt, and closing a couple transactions as an agent would probably be decent experience, but it's by no means necessary. At worst, it shows some interest in real estate in general. Having my license probably marginally helped me during interviews (but I also had other real estate experience, namely property management at a large real estate company with a fairly strong local reputation and an internship at a commercial real estate law firm). And no problem! Thanks for watching!
I am planning on getting an LLB along with an LLM in my home country within the next 5 years. By the time I finish, I will be 28. After that my plan is to move to Chicago in order to pursue a trainee or intership position as a lawyer, and ultimately staying in the US. I live in Greece, any ideas as to how this plan could be feasible?
It's a lot of work, no doubt. I think a lot of it depends on your practice area and specific team, but it's definitely not for everyone. The average career length in big law is pretty short since it can get exhausting.
@@Jonathan_D12 best of luck! I'd recommend reaching out to attorneys in your area (in practice areas you might be interested in) and letting them know you're applying to law school. Many of them will be happy to meet with you.

There are nice things about it, don't get me wrong. Just as there are plenty of silly things about Houston. But I've been quite happy with the move thus far!
