Just finished my 1L year. This is 10000% the life of a law student. Just add “stressfully thinking about the work I should be doing” to the end of every activity that is not doing the work I should be doing
congrats on making it through 1L!! haha work is constantly at the back of my mind - it seems like there's always something else to do?? but it's important to try and relax too! :P

I have to say that I am so glad the internet wasn't nearly as interesting when I was in law school (1999-2002), because it would have been much harder for me to buckle down and study knowing that youtube, etc. was at my fingertips!

I can relate this with my life when i was in law school in Korea. The one thing different from this is i couldn’t study at library because i swore so much😂

I never knew that university’s have lockers this is the first time i have ever seen this and ill be a senior at URI in the fall
Haha I was surprised too! I think it’s likely because the law school has so few students that there’s enough space to give everyone a locker.
@@untitledlawstudent We had lockers at Case Western Reserve School of Law, also! (Class of 2002) I used mine extensively as a 1L, but after I got onto a journal, I started keeping my stuff in the journal office. I always wondered if other law schools had lockers, too, or if it was just some quirky CWRU thing, lol.

i was considering going to law school when i first started undergrad but recently i have been almost 100% certain i want to go to graduate school. this video is making me reconsider because it seems like law school has such a community feeling
haha, please don't make such a momentous life decision based on one video! and remember that what you see is just the highlight reel. ;) a lot of grad school / law school depends on the people you'll meet. there are communities everywhere! when i made my decision to go to law school, it was super helpful to talk to students in the years before me and practicing attorneys to see what their lives are like and how their schooling experience was. :)

I feel you so much girl. I am a law student in National Kapodistrian University of Athens and the only thing I can say about your campus is that it is stunning! Wish our buildings were that developed as yours, but I love law. I study very Hard as you and I can completely understand.

I got to visit Yale's campus for a mock trial competition and it is seriously the most beautiful college campus I've ever seen! Congrats on going to Yale Law School!

Hello! It’s actually my dream to get into Yale Law, I’m currently in 8th grade and I was just wondering how it all works. Are you able to get into Yale right after high school? I guess I don’t understand what the requirements mean when they say you need a bachelors degree before you can apply. Also, what classes do you recommend taking to better my chances? If you can answer this it would be really nice, thank you for your time.
Yale has an undergraduate college, so you can attend Yale before law school where you’d earn the necessary bachelors degree. Yale Law requires an undergraduate degree so you’re unable to enter after high school. Better to focus on enjoying high school and college before stressing about law school!

That's a first-rate educational experience. I think you should make more videos, I'd watch them. Last, why were you crying? Stress?

Cali HS Senior here with some questions. Question #1: What tips or important things would you have wished someone told you when you were in my position. Question #2: What is the best major for law school and when should I start studying for the LSAT? *I am double majoring in Poli Sci and Philo at CSUN (I'm going in with 27/30 units so it's not that bad)* Question #3: You clearly have the work ethic for the demands of law school because you got into the #1 law school, but for someone who is prone to procrastinating what habits or advice would you give someone so they can prepare themselves for what's ahead? Love the vids and congrats on getting where you are!

1) law school is a long time away! focus on getting through college with a good support network (friends will get you through life!). work on your mental and physical health. work hard to get good grades, because your gpa matters quite a lot for law school, but don't burn yourself out. and remember to have fun along the way. :)
2) law schools don't care what you major in, so pick something you like / something you'll do well in. i did environmental studies + poli sci because i thought they were interesting! i studied for the LSAT halfway through my junior year. it really depends on when you'll have the time to sit down and study and whether you want to take time off to work before going to law school (i went straight through).
3) i haven't figured out how to follow my advice yet, but work on your physical and mental health! there's always a reason behind procrastination. also, discipline is better than motivation, but be kind to yourself.

haha yes generally i only had 2-3 classes per day, sometimes 1, and mostly none on fridays! people usually take an average of 4 classes per semester, and classes mostly meet 1-2 times a week.

Does anyone actually fail Yale Law? It looks more like Club Med to me.
I think it's pretty hard to fail, given the support system that really wants you to succeed.
I doubt it. They do a very thorough job culling out low achievers at the admissions office.
