The message pops up right after the first key. Then you put the next key in the cupholder and follow the steps in the video. Thanks

Will remote start feature still work?. and can you reprogram the original key. Im having an issue with my receiver for key and will be replacing the receiver but will need to reprogram key so hopping it will work with the original keys.
If remote start is integrated in the key meaning there is a button specifically for remote start and its not an aftermarket add on, then it should be fine.
I currently have 1key & purchased another off Amazon. Do I need to get the actual key cut for the new fob if I still have old one?
No. But it's good to in case you lose the original. Not needed though if you have one.

If you have 2 keys the process is faster. This process is for no keys or 1 key

This process is when you only have 1 key and want to add a second key. If you lost 1 of your 2 keys and purchased a second key, when you find your lost key it will no longer work. You may be able to add it back to the car though.

Customer already had the original key so we just duplicate that with our machines. If you do not have it, then youll need to order one from the dealer or call a professional locksmith.

It should work with a used key, it has to do with the car computer adding the unique code to its table. It should also work by adding the remote for another car that uses the same type of remote.
Where did you purchase your key fob?
Key fob was the customers that we programmed and as locksmiths, we cut the key.
Will this work on a convertible to operate the top?

In this procedure, we programmed the original keys back in, and we added.

Can't tell you for sure but sounds like you don't have enough keys programmed
Will this work on a 2018 malibu? the key is the same i had 2 broke one need an extra key fob not really trying to go to the dealership and spend hundreds also does the extra key need to be cut?
Extra key does not need to be cut. Just use the one from your broken key. As long as you have one, you can program but this key is good to have cut for emergencies. Yes, if you have one key and it looks like this and you want to add a second for chevy Malibu, it will work

My key is programmed to my 17camaro Theft deterrent system light is on but I’m still able to remote start my car and start the car with the key fob in the cup holder. Do you know when will the theft deterrent light turn off?
How many keys do you have to the car
I have one key fob program to the car. The dealership only gave one key program to the car.
Have a second one made. That may fix the problem.
So my son has a key fob from his 2019 camro and he just bought a 2016 Corvette can he use his old key fob from his camaro on the Corvette??
The key is locked and cannot be reused unless it is reset by a professional

What if you lost first key fob?? And only have spare key from dealership? But it is not programmed
This procedure is for adding a key so you can go through the process once you have a second key as you may need 2 keys for programming.

When programming your locksmith will need to program all keys at the same time for you unless you have 2 keys, The process is faster.

I followed everything exactly as you did, Now my car says theft deterrent system. The remote works and the car starts but every time I start the car i get that message. I also have the orange light of the car with the lock symbol on my instrument cluster. Any advise. Car is a 2020 camaro.
Did you figure it out? My 2017 is doing the same thing
@@eightysixu101 Yes I did. My car only came with one key fob. I was trying to program a used key fob. I had to purchase one that had never been programed. Once I had two programed key fobs I was able to program the used one.
@@rodneyemerzian9241 and the light was off? My car is also stuck in programming mode, if I let is sit for 15 minutes then go to start I have to hold the power button for 12 seconds to get out of the mode everytime I go to start the car
@@eightysixu101 Once I programed all the remotes I had to hold the stop/start button about 10 seconds to exit the programing mode and the light wnet out.
@@rodneyemerzian9241 and did your car also make you exit programming mode everytime you went to start it, if I let the car sit for more than a few minutes it makes me do that

Does it work with v6 models
If you have this key in the video it should work. Engine v6 does not make a difference.

U did 30 minutes for 3 keys I just need to program one do I still need to do the 30 mins? Or just 10?
The process is the same no matter how many keys you want to program. Just keep in mind some vehicles require that you have two keys. So if you program one key, there's a possibility your car won't start until you program a second.

@@locksmith707 It does not have to be OEM, but keep in mind that not all aftermarket keys are good. I always recommend to use OEM or refurbished OEM from a good supplier.

Theft deterrent system turned on, how do I turn it off??
The best option is for you to have the car scanned to narrow the problem down correctly. I am receiving the impression that this is your only key, and it seems like the key was not being recognized. I cannot tell you the problem for sure, but having a new key cut and having that programmed to your vehicle, might fix the problem. Please seek professional help and I would recommend calling a trusted locksmith.
Did you figure out what it was, or how you got it fixed? I have a 2020 Camaro, same thing. Two keys supposedly programmed but the theft deterrent system won't allow me to start the Car.

Many vehicles require two keys and some don't. If yours requires two keys and you won't be able to start your car if you only have one

Notice the second key didn't actually unlock the passenger door...
Listen closer
The manual states that you must have 2 original working fobs in the cup holder to program any extras, if you program any extras and lets say you only have 1 original it will stop working and cannot be reprogrammed. Your "skipped video" is misleading and the last fob you programmed was not an original. DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTUCTIONS UNLESS YOU HAVE LOST ALL ORIGINAL FOBS AND NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES!
All keys need to be with you in this procedure and in the video at .15 seconds I mention it is different and faster with 2 keys. This is when you have 1 key or less and yes, you need to program all keys at the same time or they will no longer work. That is the procedure that says ready for remote 1, remote 2, and so on.

Terrible video. You put the first fob into the cup holder WITH A key in it. Then when you removed it, it DIDNT have a key in it. Then you put the 2nd key fob into the cup holder WITHOUT a key. And you also did not explain this.
So you were smart enough to see what I did but you wanted me to say it as well. This video is not meant for kids. It is for locksmiths.
