    Thanks for this video! I purchased a replacement key fob for my 2011 Chevy Cruze from Amazon for $16.78. Ace Hardware cut the key for $10. I programmed the key fob using your method - I started the Cruze with my old key & let it run until all the dash lights went out (about 6-8 seconds). Shut the car off, and then immediately inserted my new key; started the car and let it run until all the dash lights went out (about 6-8 seconds) and Voila! The key fob was programmed. All the buttons worked perfectly including the remote start button. My new working key fob only cost $26.78. Thanks again for this instructional video!

I bought a new FOB on Amazon and took off the broken FOB and connected the key to the new FOB. Sorry to hear that. There are a couple things it could be. 1 the battery. Is it a fresh one and in correctly? Second, do the numbers on the side of the new fob match the old? It is possible yours has too many keys stored in the system and they need to be cleared. Lastly, you may want to try one of the other methods I have listed as well. Thanks for watching

    Great information. All these systems are aimed more at scamming the customer out of more money (IMO). Every time they mess with the key locks a new crop of problems begins. I'm lucky enough to have a car old enough to bypass with a resister. Unfortunately the lock mechanisms are junk for my model impala(2004). At least it doesn't have the + key.

    I bought new cases and just swapped my blades and thought that I needed to reprogram the lock and unlock functions. I did so with 2 working keys. One is fully functioning and the other only starts the car, no lock/unlock. By chance does using an existing key deprogram the original key used? I'm afraid to use your method 1 in case it deprograms the unlock/lock functions. The key works to unlock the door but then it's disbled for the 10 minutes, then it starts the car. Thanks for any input! And thanjs for you videos! We have a 2012 LS Camaro.

      No.....it will not deprogram the key.....I am extremely curious as to how 1 works without any programming???? Did you buy from a GM dealer or online? Most of the time you can just add the fob. But there have been instances where you will just need to get the blank cut and use the fob with the new key blank. If that is the case just insert old key , crank it up and let run for about 5 seconds. Switch it off and remove key. instantly insert new key and crank. Let it run fot 5 seconds and done. If that does not work you will need to do this one ruclips.net/video/blZf-TMnQCM/видео.html

    When I purchased my 2013 Camaro back in June, I didn’t come with the key fob. It just came with a regular key so I have no way of using keyless entry remote start set the alarm pop the trunk nothing ! so I bought this key fob off of eBay. The guy says it’s for my car 2013 Chevy Camaro with a two LT package and the RS package. Well a locksmith told me that I don’t actually have to have the key cut. It’s and I can just program the fob that I with out using the key in the fob. use the fob for the keyless entry and all that and I just have to cover the end of the key. I have with aluminum foil on the key i had and put it in the car. Don’t turn the car on just turn it till the dash lights come on and it should tell me when it’s programmed. I’ve did it three times and it’s not working, now I’m wondering if this is the right one. I called the three-way Chevrolet dealership here in Bakersfield. They didn’t wanna give me too much information. They basically wanted me to bring the car down with that key fob but they told me if it’s an aftermarket key fob they won’t cut the key because they’re afraid they’ll mess up their machine and they can get me a key fob and with programming and everything it’s gonna be about $387 Out the door but they’re not charging me to cut a key and that’s free but they have to run my registration and all this baloney, so yeah I was like forget the dealership have you ever heard of what I told you that locksmith said to put tinfoil on the black part of the key turn the key When it’s in the ignition to the lights come on on the dash and then you can program the fob without having to use the key that’s in the fob?

    • @CamaroTime
      @CamaroTime  7 месяцев назад

      Very interesting. Never heard of the foil. But you would need to know the correct numbers for the fob from a dealership....Mine only charged me $67 for a new fob.......And even told me how to program it........Several things could be wrong with yours. First, does the fob have a battery in it? If so, more than likely it is the wrong one. But if the guy is certain it is right the cars memory could have too many stored in the computer already. You would need to get someone with a scan tool to remove a couple of them........Thanks for watching

      @@CamaroTime No, the key fob does not work at all. I know I have the correct fob because the dealer required my VIN number to look up the correct one. If the way you describe programming is correct it is like they sold me a fob with a bad battery. I checked and it and it is 2.83 volts remaining on a 3 volt battery. So I know the battery is good. I have it attached to my key ring so if proximity to the ignition switch is needed for signal retention it should have worked. As you know GM sells the key fob without the blade because of peoples knees shutting off the ignition during driving. But I cannot find a single video on how to program this bladeless key fob.

    They lost me when purchasing a bumper to bumper 100,000 warranty, A headlight went out and the dealer tried to charge me $350.00. Well! That's not covered, They said you had to remove the bumper cover. Probably wouldn't even have used a genuine Osram bulb. I called BS, then left vowing never to return. The last three Nissan's I have owned never saw the inside of a garage. I do love my Camaro though!

      I used to work at a dealership years ago. There are soo many scams it is crazy. I mean next time you buy a new car. Check the oil. ALWAYS half a quart low. Why? Well, half a quart times how many cars they sell equals how much money saved in oil....And Ford used to be the worst....This was during their quality #1 campaign. You buy a car. They do something real simple like unscrew a bulb or whatever......then you have to bring it in because you are like, I have a warranty and it is new, let them fix it. So they get you right in, no waiting. Fix it double quick. You did not even have time to get cup of coffee out of vending machine. As you sign the paper saying work was completed at no charge they hand you this flier that asks how they did that was postage prepaid......you of course fill it out and send it back in giving them top notch rating.......Everything fine until next time you take it in.......They get slower and slower........Thanks for watching
