I ordered the HH 66t and 87t yesterday and they’re already on the way. Now I just need Traxxas to actually ship the TRX4m🤣. They sent all the upgrades I ordered but I guess they still haven’t got the trucks back in stock. Since it’s going to be a while till I get mine I’d love to see the HH 87t with stock gears run if you have time. Maybe run it stock against the Bronco and then with the 88 against it so we can see if there is a difference in both slow speed modulation and top speed. Subbed in case you do it😉. Nice build, I pick the blue Bronco as well.
I'm on it. I was trying to get this video out asap. The Defender is bone stock other than removing the fake rear tire and installing the light kit. I literally have a pile of upgrades to go in that rig. Working on getting something ready for the 87T. Thanks for the sub and watching.
Thanks for the comparison tests. I have a 66T on the way for my TRX4M. I noticed in the speed test the 66t with crawler gears was still quite a bit slower than the 87T on trail gears. Do you think (with an ESC swap of course) running the crawler gears on 3S with the 66T id gain more speed? I’m trying to find a perfect setup for slow modulated crawl, trail speed, AND something I can run in water. Thanks man!
You bet. And possibly depending on esc. I think you would be better off with trail gears and the HH 87t. The crawl gears are such a huge reduction in gear (40.3:1 reduction ratio) that trying to run trail walking speed will be very difficult. That's why I have a crawler and a trail rig. I have not seen much middle ground on this problem yet. Maybe a brushless setup. I have one on the way. Review video coming soon.
I’m convinced that Injora can’t make a front driveshaft that’s in-phase. Every single one I’ve seen online is out of phase including their own stock photo. I only noticed after I got mine, installed them, and then all of a sudden the truck started running like crap. I tried every configuration of the driveshaft since it’s 2 pieces and they machined the coupler in a way that doesn’t allow the driveshaft to be installed in-phase.
My steering binding is awful on mine, even after replacing the bushings with bearings. All of the oil leaked out of the stock shocks in less than a month. Super disappointed and not spending any more money on this. I like the Defender body and think I will try to fit it to my lengthened FCX24, which I absolutely love and would chose over the Traxxas.
Yeah, RTR rigs always come with their downsides. I have a FCX24 I'm building as well. I have several videos on it as well. You should check it out. Thanks for watching.
I have a few questions about the 66t, if you don't mind. Is if waterproof and is it as fast as the stock motor. Ive been trying to find a more powerful motor thats waterproof but all of them don't seem to be waterproof. Thanks!😊
It's is faster than the stock motor. Most brushed motors will be waterproof. The HH 66T have Bushings in them, so you should be fine. Thanks for watching.
Glad you like the motor! I think the 66t option is great with the low gears.
Agreed. Quality parts make for a quality motor.
Just got the Bronco and you're giving me some good ideas. Nicely done.👍
Thanks. They are amazing rigs. I'm glad I could help.
Love your build, looks great with those big mickeys,, What wheels are those? That's a great combination.
Thanks. Those are the Injora negative offset wagon wheels. Went with the blue and gold rally look.

The HobyTown in my area has like 50 of these things in stock.

I am also disappointed about that. They make a lot of quality parts. I actually contacted them directly about this issue.
@@hyperc5249 same. They’re supposed to be sending a replacement sometime but I’d be willing to bet that it’s also manufactured incorrectly.
I bought both but haven’t had time to put it in yet. (that’s what she said)
I am pretty sure you won't be disappointed. Easy swap with the HH connectors.
Thank you
No problem

I want the 87t motor but the Holmes hobbies site doesn't have an option to deliver to the UK 🤦🏻♂️
Boo. You guys get the short end of the stick on RC stuff.
thing's a beast
The Holmes 66T appears to come with a metal pinion gear. If so, when using with plastic/nylon gears does one grease?
Yes. I always apply a small amount of grease to any gear set. There is no need to add a lot. Super Lube is my go-to grease. Runs awesome.
@@hyperc5249 which Super Lube model number please.

@@hyperc5249 thanks for replying so quick! I was a bit worried because it said the warranty doesn't cover water damage. Cheers!
@Mr_Ice_5 No problem, that's why I do this. Now, the ESC might be a different story. Where did you see the water damage warranty issue?
@@hyperc5249 I saw it on their website.
Why can't these shock keys ship to Canada.
You guys get screwed on RC cars and parts.
