    I gotta say I prefer the look of the TRX4 M. The body looks much more proportional and I love the black paint but from a performance standpoint I’d pick the SCX24. Smaller, lighter, and years of aftermarket support

    absolutely killer video! this was such a fun one to watch, i love how differently each rig reacts to all the courses. for whatever reason i am drawn to the trx4m platform but you really cannot dismiss how versatile and capable any type of scx24 build is. it's incredible how much size and parts selection can make or break a course layout. that 24 comp build completly dominated! it was probably the cheapest to build too! what people tend to forget about these trucks is you don't have to choose this or that, just get them all and build them how you want! when i have a "crawler day" i bring everything, that's the fun part about this hobby is you can see how well all your rigs do. on a side note i am having good success with my trx4m rear steer project and i finished my indoor course as well. you've definitly ignited my passion for these little nuggets

    Love your videos! I really like the fact that you don’t pick one or another for a clear winner… I was not a 1/24 fan but love so much to see what people can do with these little beasts. Seeing videos like this one is fun and very useful to understand the pros and cons with all the thing we can do with them. I’m in love with the little traxxas but will never bash axial. I’m in to mod my TRX4M Bronco into a “Furitek Cayman Pro’ish” clone… With all the weight out, i think it will be a solid contender! Wonder if you will do something like this in a future video? You Bronco built is not far from that… Thank’s for your good work! 👍

    Great vid, been waiting for this since the original comparison. You did a good job of showing their capabilities without making it a competition, cause it simple isn’t as you pointed out so thank you. With that being said, I am glad I went with the scx Bronco (before I saw your bronco build videos, I just could say no to that body…). The size makes more sense to be, although they are very close in size, the TRX is kiiiiinda stepping out of “micro crawler” territory to me, it seemed big in comparison . This is my first and won’t be my last, I have dove head first into the deep end with these guys and couldn’t be happier.

    The Trx4m is 1/18 because of the body, the frame is similar in length to mini Gladiator, and if put over the chassis mini Gladiator you will se both have the same scale. The scale is different because of the body nothing else. In my case I buy the mini Capra the last Friday, where I go I don't need to make to many change, they climb really well and I have more options because the 1/10 shocks and links share some similar, now the first upgrade will be tires and I will using redcat beadlock, they add weight not to much, but will increase mass rotation not to much

    I agree the TRX4m is quite finicky with mods. I tried and failed time after time to stop the shocks from binding and causing body lift and imbalance. I don’t dare touch my current setup because it sits at stock height but has all the flex I need without major mods to the servo mount or springs. Only things I may add are more brass and a motor from Holmes Hobbies.

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Год назад +1

    even with upgrades the trx4m is better simply because of its scale, you are able to fit far more powerful motors and wheels to it, it is probably still heavier even with the carbon fibre chassis, keeping it planted. 1/18th and 1/24th may not seem like a gigantic diference visually but in terms of performance it is pretty huge.

    I have both the Trx4M Red Bronco and the Scx24 Gladiator. Out of the box the TRX is better rig. I have a small course in. Y front yard the TRX box stock did almost all of it. I then did the Traxxas bead lock rims with brass rings. A noticeable improvement. The Scx24 could do about 1/2 my course. I found it either flopped over very easily or the wheels would just spin. I’ll be visiting my local hobby store for tires/rims and some brass for the Scx24.

      It’s the nsdrc rs100. I think it’s worth buying. It’s very strong! And it’s not a lot more money than the Traxxas replacement

    • @rcglock9608

      So the reefs 99 @ 6v has 89 oz in of torque and the nsdrc rs100m has 120 oz in of torque @ 6v according to their specs. And it's $5 cheaper. Looks like we have a winner. But that injora servo looks pretty good to and it comes with metal horn and metal mount

    Okay so now the size isn't even an issue on this head-to-head. This isn't even a Traxxas or a axial anymore. Neither one of the chassis a stock and the only thing you comparing now are the bodies on modified everything everything's modified So the only thing that's any good you're just comparing one Komodo to another Komodo system on two different tile types of frames they're not even what you said they're not modified on their own frames nor are they modified comparably in weight or size still still not right

      Both of them stock and then modify the FJ Toyota 18 scale and the TRX4M and then put modification without changing the frame make sure that they weigh the same and that they have the same tires. That would be a cool thing to see and I like your course by the way it's very cool
