dUg is a freaking legend and the world is better with him in it!
🎯🎯🎯
I couldn’t think of a better voice to do justice to how Phil Lynott originally did this song,
@@rebelcat420 Damn right, Dug's the perfect choice. It's incredible he's going on 70. What a guy.
He sounds like Tommy Chong singing this song. Lol
Shoulda scraped Sheenan and had dUg do vocals and bass. He’s awesome
I don’t know what is better, Billy playing the whole thing sitting on the couch or Dug drinking wine, but it’s one of the two. 😁 That was awesome.
it’s both
Dude can't sing a 4-minute song w/o wine? OK....Billy can play it upside -down hanging from the ceiling if he wants.
Billy had wine on stand by too I'm sure!
Zero fucks from Doug
Bill vets my vote the bass sounds better then dudes vocals
I still cant believe Dug is 70. I turned so many people onto kings x in high school. One of my favorite bands
What a SICK lineup! Can't go wrong when DuG is involved!
or when Doug is involved!
Could not be done any better. Tribute to T. Lizzy! Phil would be loving it!
Doug and Billie
@@markpolacek7840 Phil was one of a kind.one of the best composers of hard rock/ballads ever.
@@talibe801 Still in love with you!!
Best ballad ever!! Best guitar solo ever! IMHO
I am a big Thin Lizzy fan. These guys must be too. This was terrific.
I thought you were about to say they must NOT be Thin Lizzy fans.
for sure - phil had a bit of a deeper bass - i just missed that bit of the spectrum
HOLY CROW! What I wouldn't give to see this group of monsters on stage together. Talk about a super-group!
Totally agree. Can you imagine a set of new material mixed with the best of the best from bands they've been in. That would be off the rails. No two concerts would be the same and the house would sell out every, single, night.
Check out Bonzo Bash and Randy Rhoads Remembered shows over the past 8 years or so. All of these guys have played in those shows and I believe some of them have played together before.
First, before seeing ANYONE on stage we must follow our trustworthy governments advice and get vaccinated, wear a mask, etc!
3:22 Phil X paying tribute to the G.O.A.T. (EVH). Two thumbs up for that!
Dug's voice is fantastic.
Especially for being in his 70s!
Karoke standard.
Ritchie Blackmore said Kings X was one of the best bands he had heard..the master is right
Kings X was my guilty pleasure for a LONG time.
I saw Kings X with Dream Theater and Joe Satriani in the early 2000s, and it was one of the top 5 shows I have ever seen, and I've seen alot...
Dimebag thought so too, as I stood beside him headbanging to them at The Elmo after Pantera's Masonic Temple show. 96 I think.
@@MusicMotivator Dimebag fell on top of me at a KX show in Dallas back in '96.
@@MusicMotivator That would be the most bad ass and reliced memory of a lifetime!
Phil Lynott genius and poet... RIP... love to hear black rose there guys.... Thin Lizzy's songs will never age.
Should be more than 2 likes for your comment !
If I’m not mistaken, he died in like 1986 or so. I came home on leave from Fort Stewart, Georgia, and a high school school friend (a REAL rocker) told me of his passing.
Hell yeah, man! You guys killed it. More Thin Lizzy covers, please 😁
That red wine though. What a smooth dude.
Met Dug. I was bass guitar teching for a highschool friend who played bass and sang for a Houston band called The Missiles, and they had just hired Kenny Cordray, the writer for ZZTop's "Francine" and a well known Houston musician and guitar salesman. I was backstage, and this guy started a conversation with me. He was amazingly polite and engaging. Afterwards, the drummer for the band asked me how it was to talk to the bassist and singer for King's X. I honestly had no idea that it was Dug. Also, RIP Kenny Cordray.
I was lucky enough to take lessons from Kenny before he died. He had the best stories, and I used to look forward to that half hour every week. What an amazing talent taken away.
Do you remember the Backstage club in Houston? That was one heck of a fun place! And Kings X always crushed it live. Dug hasn't lost a step 🎸👍
Phil for sure will be a happy man, listening to this version of his song, Somewhere In This Town... 💜
Doug has one of the coolest voices!!
similar like Phil L
@@erkjan Exactly!
Dug.
Just sayin
Lynott mixed with Jimi. Awesome.
Dug is the perfect choice for a Phil cover. His voice is made for this. Great cover.
I couldn't agree with you more. Perfect choice!
Huge song. Love these guys especially Pinnick. King's X is so unique.
King’s X…this trio is one of the most underrated bands ever. Even better live. ❤
... really, really enjoyed that. Thin Lizzy was one of the greatest hard rock bands of the 70's..wish I had seen them live...R.I.P. Phil Lynott
Who the hell gave this a thumbs down? Please go get your hearing checked.
I love Dug, love King's X and love Thin Lizzy. But i have to admit, i didn't love Dug's vocal here
He can sing with real bite ( Fall on Me, Dogman) and I think that's what this song calls for. Listen to Philo's original
@@tomfabozzi6309 that the same thing i thought, vocals are nope nope...
In Dug's defense, Phil had a voice that few can duplicate... it was one of a kind.
@@HuddshouseofRockNMetal you are right, but still this aint good.
I gave it a thumbs down....cause your just thinking about the band but the Singer sings the song like he's half a sleep. i could sing it better I know i could and i even play left handed bass to so the bass player can take a break from sitting;)
Hell Yeahhhhh!!!!!!! Turn it uppppppp!!!!!!! Rocking & Rolling!!!!!! Old school is the greatest!
Dug pinick underrated beast Ray what a drummer
Underrated by who??
@@jumpinjojo I don't think he meant literally ...relax
Underrated is an overrated description. Everybody in the biz respects and loves dUg.
@@davidpeterson9647 no I mean he deserves to sell millions no disrespect
Agreed! Kings X should have been one of the biggest bands in a just world. He respects his fans and is a very nice guy, as are Jerry and TY.
Great version, I've been on a Thin Lizzy binge recently.
WHAT A BAND! Dug needs to play bass along with Billy too!
I second the motion, then re-record, and release a new video. Twin guitar replaced with twin bass. Spinal tap that song.
dUG sounds like an elephant on bass, lol.
between him and Billy, it would break the internet, lol.
If he broke out that 12 string bass...
Damn, what a Lineup of Great Musicians!!!
Brilliant guy's, great cover 👍
That was amazing, and dUg on vocals was perfection!!!
Well done! Thin Lizzy. Nuff said. Best sound on the planet.
How the hell could you not love this video considering the talent involved and the song performed?

Two of my favorite guitar players..Doug Aldrich & Phil X..Definitely can't go wrong with those two..
No lights , pyrotechnics lasers etc just great players covering a classic. Imagine a gig when the band starts with this !!

So great! Loved every second of this.
When I saw that Dug Pinnick was on this vid, I thought it might be a spelling error. Way to go Dug. I saw you 3 times in the Kings X days and the concerts were fantastic.
Hopefully the Kings X days arent over yet!!!?
