Alot of us thrashers had a mad respect for this back in the day. I never met a rock/metal guitar player who didn't think George Lynch was the shit.
I'd seriously rate him in my top 3 guitarists. Truthfully he probably hit's number 1for me. Just my opinion and preference.
100% Agreed.
They didn't think anything brother
They knew!✌💛🤘
You are 100% correct🤘🏾
@@FoundingFathers2.0 Thanks for the recommendation man..that was so good i didn't notice 5mins had passed!😆He's the kind of guitarist i could never tire of hearing!I want more!✌💛🤘
Phil Demmel is such an underrated guitar player. Definitely did the justice a Lynch song deserves
Really good character as well. He comes across as a very nice and humble individual. I’m sad about how things turned out for him and Dave McClain in Machinehead.
Dude was born in Walnut Creek California..frickin awesome
@@Grimeyhoob I'm a Bay Area guy. Been following Phil & Vio for a long time. I remember Vio-lence at The Stone then MH right after them...I follow him on IG. He does live streams, interacts all the time. Answers folks questions, etc. He has a bar in Dublin...I swear I gotta get over there for Karaoke night on Wednesdays. It's like a 20 min drive.
Tooth & Nail was a very underrated album.
Tooth and Nail is the fn shit dude
✌💛🤘
Agreed 100%. Every track is awesome.
Every song on that album was good.
It's not underrated,it sent Dokken to new heights.everybody I know was digging the record and couldn't get enough of it.
The guitars in Turn on the Action are just unbelivable, I never understood why that track wasn't hug
Mad respect for Phil on his Randy Rhoads inspired Jackson V !! ♫
Always one of my fave Dokken tunes.....nailed it.
I see what you did there.
Didn't really nail it this was abit simplified
Dokken wrote some killer tunes. Definitely weren’t the atypical hair metal band, had a heavy side. George Lynch is still a man on top of his game. Much respect to this cover, Ellefson has such a heavy bottom end on his bass, totally badass. Vocalist totally owned the song and the drummer and guitarist amazing chops. Love the R Rhoads inspired Jackson.
Part of why I agree with Eddie Trunk that we need to get rid of the term “hair metal” some bands get lumped in that shouldn’t be. For example would you equate Dokken and W.A.S.P. with Winger and Poison?
@@kudukilla agree totally....the term hair metal doesn’t do justice to those bands. Those musicians especially Winger, WASP could really play their instruments, the image betrays them.
So tired of this hair metal lame ass label...btw that term wasn't used back in the day....this is heavy fuckin metal PERIOD...
The only thing that really kept them from becoming the best was their penchant for heartache and heartbreak in their catalog. They started sounding really Pop-like in the later years.
@@kudukilla Dokken maybe, W.A.S.P. never.
Russell Allen singing Dokken was the best thing I saw today!
People forget what an amazing band Dokken were. Powerful metal. Killer top 10 guitarist. So many hits from this band. Great cover 🤘🏼
They literally had the most complete talented band in that era
I didn’t forget 😃
Loved it. Hard to top Don in his prime with the high notes though. Him and Pilson worked so well together.
the drums were outstanding in this...
JUST the Drums?? LOL!
Stix and the rest of steel Panther are ridiculous 😎🤙🤘🍺🍺🍺
Agreed , more stand out than his playing in SP, but they're all on point here 👍
@@dragonfly8341
Seems to me that what he puts out with SP is equally sick - and especially so, cause it's original stuff.
@@432b86ed fair call 👍 actually who I am kidding? You're totally right haha Sorry dude I must've been in a shitty mood when I commented, too much of that on the internet already! It's the first time I've been able to really focus on his technique actually, that's more to my point, SP is always such a fun party live even it's a piss-take parody they're doing it right so it's still homage tribute but they're keeping the flame alive for the next generation & are a gateway band now for sure. They always had the chops since Metal Shop 🤘 Atomic Punks= best VH cover band ever
1:49 Solo by Michael Angelo Batio 🤪
Thought that was him😀
Most underrated Dokken song. Love the cover!!!
Thats a hell of a solo for Phil to pull off like that. Looks good for someone out of that Bay Area scene.
Amazing cover !
Damn, that was kick-ass! I didn't know that Phil Demmel could play leads like that.
Bro.... his work in Vio-lence was his best and his first. Calling in the Coroner!!
Why Do You Think Rob Flynn Kept Him In MACHINEHEAD So Long??
Dmitry Owens then you need to hear the first 2 Vio-Lence records, both Phil & Rob at the top of their game, MH pales in comparison
@@dragonfly8341
I listened to some of that stuff a year or so ago - I was heavily into thrash metal during the 80's, but never really heard Vio-Lence. Took me a while to get used to Sean's vocals, but yeah, Phil and Rob shredded it up. And fuck Machine Head - they're a second rate Pantera rip-off band. I bought their first album back in the mid-90's and sold it shortly after. Really generic shit.
@@dmitryowens haha yeah Sean Killian's voice was always the barrier for everyone, the most manic of all the Bay Area thrashers, only eclipsed by the heaviest SF bands like Sadus & Possessed, but their vocal styles were more extreme. Great that Killian is healthy & well again & Vio-Lence is back in business 🤘
Russell Russell Russell.... You rule...!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great song and you guys nailed it!
Great cover! Phil’s use of a Rangy Rhoads influenced guitar on a George Lynch song did not go unnoticed. ;)
I miss my Russell Allen wish I could get him back
I love this version better. Russell Allen is a awesome singer. All of them are awesome
I miss him so much
Russel Allen is one of my all time favourite metal singers
I was going to say this kicks ass, but I'd just be repeating all the previous comments. This kicks ass. Used to hearing Lynch's beautiful, wailing, intro to Just Got Lucky immediately after this.
Stix always kicks ass. Here it's no exception. Everybody brought it. _Everybody._
Russell Allen = God
Fucking just pure awesomeness, Phil killed that solo. Russell is incredible and so is everyone else. cheers to you guys.
These guys tear it completely up
Excellent! I'm glad to see other musicians appreciate others songs and work. DZF
Oh, just hell yeah!!!!!!!! Nailed it.
Ummmmm Nailed It!....strike that....SLAYED it! Not easy to cover George - but this was fire!
Heck of a cover of one of the best songs from one of the best bands of the 80’s hair metal scene. Dokken’s strengths were the harmonies of Don and Jeff and the riffs and solos of George.
Vocals were on point here and the guitars were note for note spot on! Rokken with Dokken! 🤟🏻
I want Phil's guitar!!!!
Another huge Randy Rhoads fan!
🤟👍Rocked this classic Dokken hard!💥
They crushed this. I love Phil’s look in the camera after the solos. Says a lot, and I think sends a lot of respect to George Lynch…
30 people thumbs down? ...apparently they are hard of hearing because they was an EPIC cover!
I'm so sorry that I am just seeing this video now, but this is awesome. Russell is an awesome vocalist, Phil is awesome on guitar, Stix is right on time, and Dave is badass on bass and backing vocals!!! I don't know if this is a one off or this is a side project, but I would love to see and hear more of this!!!! You guys sound awesome!!!
Absolutely Incredible! Thanks guys! 👍🏼👊
Lynch on a Rhodes guitar. That’s balls but as a Dokken Fan since day one this is fantastic.
The first time ever I hear Russell scream 🤘
Phil is a monster on those leads!
Phil Demmel is Bad Ass, I'm a huge George Lynch fan, his solo was spot on!!!
Why would you give this a thumbs down...some people are just stupid...great work guys
Those dokken songs ARE rockin'
Hopes and Dreams Russ.
Hopes and Dreams.
I want more of this!!!
Agree
This needs more views. Excellent job! Very dedicated 👌
All day!!! Phil is a beast!!
This is absolutly fukin killer!!!!!! Thank you guys for bringing this song and nailing it!!!! I know it wasnt easy ,,, im a 80s rock / metal guy tooo.!!!!!!!!!

Well done my friends. Take care and god bless.
Russel Allen's Voice is amazing .. This cover gives brand new energy to this song ..
Vocals were superb. This was very well done all the way around.
Gooood performance ! Thank you!👍👍
Russ has the best voice in all or rock and metal
This just flat out kicked ass.
This brought back memories. Busting out some old Dokken next. Thanks
Now that is how you do a cover 😎🎸🥁🎸
All hail the 80s !!!
Hell yes !
Thanks guys for this video... amazing metal song
Hell Yeah!! What upp Stix it in ya😎🤟🤟🤟💯
Yesssssssss!!!!!!!
I love Dave Ellefson
GREAT COVER!!! While I'm a diehard LoG and Slayer fan, i have my mellow moments. Dokken is definitely one of those bands I listen to during those times.
Very nice job to the singer. Don Dokken had a serious set of pipes back in the day.
Instantly transported to my dorm room in 1984. Funny thing is your version sounds much meatier than I remember. My roommate at the time didn't consider the album to be that good until he saw Dokken in concert. He came back and put the album on again with newfound appreciation.
Woooww!!!!!! Freaking awesome!!!!!!
Phil, you're a beast. 🤘
Awesome!!!!!!!
Great rendition!! Bad Ass!!👍🤘🤘
Stellar
Sounds great gentlemen! Love it.
Russel Allen is hands down the best vocalist in metal. So god damn underrated.
Very good job guys. I have to say as a die-hard Dokken fan, that you gave it a new life.
Fantastic job guys!! Killer!
Outstanding guys!!!!!!!!!
Perfect
Daaaaamn good. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🥁🎤🎸🎤🥁
That was badass. Bravo.
Fantastic cover of a great Dokken staple.
Yessss! Awesome song and cover!
Bravo, gentlemen! Great cover. I didn't know anyone ever made Dokken covers. Now I have something else to check out on RUclips.
Meaning, other major recording artists? I've seen a few.
If you mean Dokken cover bands, there's a few of them. Dream Warriors, Breaking the Chains, Without Warning and others.
Badass cover!!
Need more from these all stars
Takes me back. It sounded awesome.
great cover!! awesome!! I want to see someone cover Dio
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎤🤘🤘🤘🤘💥Genial idea! 👍
"We used to hunt these guys with Ratt and Poison and Dokken shirts and kick them out of the gigs, until one day all guitarists we gathered up and had to admit we were playing Lynch and DeMartini licks...." K. King.....
I love how Gary Holt admitted they used to go to Ratt and Dokken type shows to pick up women.
Do NOT put Dokken in the same group with Ratt or Poison (worst band ever).
@@edwardcampbell3420 Ratt not in same tier with dokken? :D i would but it higher... Poison is dog shit agree.
@@edwardcampbell3420 I don't dude..Kerry did. Dare complain to Kerry? :)
@@irmasil3 ok, I will. Just kidding. But without Dokken along with heavy bands of the time I wouldn't have graduated to Slayer and other thrash metal bands.
Lightniiiiiinnnngg lightniiiiiinnnngg Stikes again🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Freaking awesome!!!!!!!
WOW!
Awesomest!!!
Fabulous!!!!!!!!!
