Can't fuck with Russell Allen. His voice is gold.
I had the PLEASURE and I do mean PLEASURE of hearing this in Cleveland the same year. Words can't describe how amazing it was in person!!!!
And here I am, listening to this for probably the 500th time. No regrets
You and I both.
Same
Same
Me too!
I have been a symphony x fan for 20 years and I swear this is the best vocal performance I have heard this guy do
He can sing anything, but on this particular tour after having lost Paul and then his bandmate David Z, filling in on this song for the last six shows of the tour was something cathartic for him and he really channeled the years pain into these performances. It was stunning to witness.
The pain. The passion. This was one of the best performances I've ever seen in my life. I've been to every Ohio TSO show since 2004 and I find it hard to imagine a dry eye was at this show. Even if you didn't know the back story, it, itself, was phenomenal. Russel has a fantastic gift from God with that voice.
He is moved himself so much also, he put his whole heart and whole soul into this song!
If you don’t mind, what is the backstory of the song?
@@danieleaton7336 Russell was in the band Adrenaline Mob with David Z. They were involved in a big accident in 2017 that killed David. David was also the bassist in TSO.
First show after the tragic death of his Adrenaline Mob road manager and bass player to a car crash.
He sung his heart out on this performance. David "David Z." Zablidowsky died in the crash
Thank you for uploading this again! Sir Russell’s performance of this song here was so powerful and moving. Especially after losing Paul and David Z that year, the emotion, feeling, and passion in his voice is incredible. You can hear the emotion with every single note he sang. He really sang this song beautifully, by far the most heartfelt performances of this song I’ve ever heard since Daryl Pediford. Brings tears to my eyes every time, especially at the end when he gets the standing ovation.
Fir years, I have loved Russel in Symphony X and his work with Ayreon but the best of all is that I finally got to see him last year with TSO live on stage
By far the best rendition of this song ever! He knocks it out of the park!! Nothing but 100% emotion when he sings it. Would love to see this live. God bless you Russell!!!
The BEST and most powerful performance of this song I’ve ever seen!!!! Period. The pain, passion, emotion, and feeling is absolutely incredible. What a phenomenal voice too! I always come back to watch this performance.
Every year I watch this, every year Russell makes me cry. I love him so much, I've followed his career for years. This year I gave him a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka in the Glass Skull. Symphony X was amazing as always.
This was a once in a lifetime performance for sure - so much emotion and passion brimming to the surface.
I will legitimately cry the day this man stops singing
Damn! This is the first time I’ve heard Russell sing this song. I wish TSO East would come to Seattle just for one year
There is no one like this man. The best there is.
Wow!!! Emotional!! Thank you Squinty!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🩵🩵🩵
Wow. That gave me chills! I believe we just had some church up in here! Praise be to the one who sits on the throne, and to the lamb and to the Spirit! If that didn't have you on your face praising the Name of Jesus, then you need to check yourself for a pulse.
Been a HUGE RA fan for years. Love him with Symphony X and TSO, although where I live in Alabama I don't get the RA version of TSO LOL (Still love them though... gonna go see them for the fourth time next month). One of these years I'm gonna go to my cousin's place in Columbia, SC so I can see RA do this live.
I love this Man immensely and deeply who I also met personally ❤💯👑
Que emocionante es escuchar al GRAN RUSSELL ALLEN !!! que privilegiados los que estuvieron ahí presentes. LARGA VIDA A RUSSELL ALLEN
The best rendition of this song that I’ve ever heard. The pain, passion, feeling, and emotion in his performance is so powerful. He put his entire heart and soul into this song. Brought tears to my eyes just watching this. What an incredible moment.
Just massive, beautiful.
Goosebumbs........and it is only July....not Christmas yet.
The Marvelous Russell Allen ! Love it so much.
damn Russell!! simply amazing sir! to have all of that emotion pour out in the words of another within those 5 and a half minutes...just damn Russell! 😮😮
This one my favorite song
Che voce mamma mia. Sempre stato il numero 1...solo Roy Khan arrivava a questo livello di perfezione. Che voci
Wow...that was awesome!
PERFECTION
Best
Top top top
G.O.A.T. Daryl Pediford & Sir Russell are kings among singers.
I agree, and IMO Sir Russell’s rendition here is the most heartfelt since Daryl Pediford. Beautifully sung, and a really powerful moving performance. I get chills listening to this, his voice is phenomenal. I’m sure Daryl was smiling down on him during this!
@martinw1225 Thoroughly agree across the board on this one, brother.
The Whitney Houston of rock! The only voice DIO would be envious of.
Kicks Ass...Takes Names
Menuda brutalidad de puesta en escena.
The last great Rock Voice we have. Maybe even the last one we will ever have
The most poignant song on that album by far.
Christ the lord :)
