Thanks for posting this video! Not a lot of videos on the old machines. I have a sears 2 geb/disc with tr/disc. I’ve been told it’s the sears model of the 6000d. It was my uncles who passed away a few years ago. Just started swinging this year and I’m hooked! Started in geb norm and digging everything. I started running geb disc and I’m nailing coins and rings everyday! I’m discriminating at 6 1/2 (foil) and hitting every silver dime in the neighborhood! I got my first buffalo nickel at 8” thanks to this video. I wasn’t listening to those quiet signals. I hit my first 1905 IHP at 7” yesterday. Just got some good permissions so I’ll post some vids soon. It’s my only machine but I love it! Can’t say the same for my arm after a couple hours. Keep swinging and posting vids!

Man that machine brings back memories. It was my first detector I got it in the early eighties.

Brings back memories. That's what I started with as a kid. My dad won it at a club hunt I believe in '79. Found lots of goodies with it. Later traded it in on a Whites Eagle.

I just watched this video again thanks to you. It really does bring back good memories of finding lots of shallow silver coins everywhere. Thanks again!!

@@PaystreakSuperfreak I do miss the easy silver. I pulled my very first half dime (1853) in 2020, then hit a silver dry spell for all of 2021. Just means I need to get out more this year. Thanks for all the videos. Wish you the best for the New Year.

@@PaystreakSuperfreak When I was about age 9 in the 70s I found 1.75 in silver and a very heavy 18k England Air Force Base ring with one of these heavy Whites in my grandfather`s yard. Had no idea how to ground balance it because it had no instructions with it. I just set the threshold as best I could.

I love messing with my old machines too buddy. I have several, from the old Sears to the old Mine Labs and even some of the old Military landmine detectors. Love the old detectors the more Knolbs the better, right?

That was the first detector I had when I was fifteen years old. I found some good stuff with it.

I had one that looked just like this in the 1970s. A Whites. Found one 18k Air Force ring with it.

I just picked up a 5000/D for sentimental reasons. My dad had a coinmaster 6dB in the 1970's. Unfortunately the 6dB failed not long after we got it and never was able to get it fixed. They find stuff, but I'm spoiled by target ID now and greater depth of the modern detectors.

I saw a cheap Bounty Hunter Fast Tracker hitting 6 and 8 inch deep targets very well....much better than the Tracker 4. Someone said it was designed by the guy who made the Tesoro machines. I love simple detectors for some reason.

the Whites 5000 is impervious to EMI, and where will your electronic detector be in 45 years ? when it's as old as the White's, it'll be on a dump pile like Dead Horse Bay island. The White's will still work. You can prospect gold nugget with the Whites, and that software in the new one will have a meltdown someday, and stop working altogether. having said that, the new one is a nice piece and really handy, light, quick. however, the key to detecting is location, of an old, previously undetected area. homesteads from pre-1970 era. any detector will clean house in a place like that. high dollar, high zoot detectors looking for clad pocket change in modern schools and parks, gets old really fast...what's your time worth ?

That machine probably has smacked out unbelievable amount of silvers. Back in the late 70's the silver coins were everywhere on the surface. If I could just travel back in time and film people detecting with those machines. It would make us cry knowing how much silver these old machines smacked. 1 out of t0 targets would be a silver man!! Makes me drool thinking about it!!

You can purchase a whole new working machine for the price of a new battery box. New parts are almost impossible to find for these old machines.
