Agree with Nancy, what a fantastic video. The guys are showing off some great skills in this video and I love these types of fireplaces. Very impressed.
At the bottom of the cast iron columns on my 1900-1910 fireplace there is a plate which sticks downwards from under the columns by half an inch. These plate mean that the the fireplace doesn't sit flat but rather tilts backwards ever so slightly. I'm a bit confused how I sit this on a hearth. Can anyone explain it to me? Thanks
Excellent workshop and real gentlemen. I wouldn't be placing those antique ceramic tiles on top of one another like that. If your going to at least place them face to face and back to back to prevent any scratches. My only criticism.
this is lead based paint he is taking off. I hope he tests his lead levels and does not bring his work clothing home if he has children. Severe lead poisoning risk I see throughout this video.
Excellent, true craftmanship on display, the eccentric owner just adds to the charm, thanks for showing this
