Those pull tops are probably the single greatest advancement in canned seafood in fifty years . When I was a kid ( My God , I'm getting old . ) each can came with a key to open the can and if you did it wrong or that key was missing ( a not infrequent occurrence ) opening that can was like trying to crack a safe . For many a young man the first time he heard profanity was when his father couldn't open the sardine can . Thanks for the memories, Sardine Expedition . Great video. Peace ✌️ , Be Free .
You’re the 2nd person to mention those cans with the keys today!!! I wish I could get my hands on one to see. I’d probably save a few keys as a spare lol. Thanks for watching! Much appreciated!
@@SardineExpedition The problem wasn't so much the key (we saved spares) but that the fragile little tab the key fit onto would break off. And those cans were not can opener friendly.
I love sardines...I can't believe I found a channel dedicated to one of my favorite snacks. That being said that's about the skimpiest can of sardines I have ever seen.
My wife seemed to enjoy these more than I did, but they did mix into a nice sardine sandwich mix we made with mayo, paprika, and some other ingredients.
Lemon sardines were my most recent try out like a month ago! I can t remember what the brand was now though. I liked it pretty well, I just ate them with water crackers for a quick snack. Hello food producers: We don't need your artificial flavors! Just lemon! ;)
I haven’t found anymore with lemon yet, but I want to find more. A fresh lemon would be great, but I never have one on hand when I need it and then I’ll buy a few and not use them lol. Let me know if you think of which brand it was! 😊
It just weirds me out, for some reason, that Chicken of the Sea mixes sprats and herring in this can. Just eyeballing the ones you got here, it looks as though most were brisling sprats, but a couple were herring. Why, Chicken of the Sea, why?
The sugar and the natural flavor are off-putting TO ME. I think I would just squeeze a lemon or add some lemon zest on plain or smoked sardines. But that's just me. THANKS for this video!

@ ahhhh I get it now. Well that would be a pain when that happened lol.
Awesome video love sardines ❤🤘
@@mikiemendoza3893 thank you and thanks so much for watching!

I’m glad you found my channel and we can nerd out on sardines together! lol. Yeah for $1.00 you aren’t getting much. It’s like a snack appetizer.😁
@SardineExpedition I guess they didn't get the memo about being "packed in like sardines".

I need to pay closer attention. That is odd.
