Disassembling and reassembling that handgun on the table would have been more impressive. As explained by others in the comments there's nothing "soldier" about knowing how to field strip and AK in the eastern bloc. My ex learned how to take one down when she was 16 in school in Estonia. Its not a big deal.

This is very cool. As someone who did this multiple times I can tell you that all you wish for is for your instructor not to demand that you take apart spring mechanism further. For us guys it was no problem, but for girls....I saw that black little knob flying over the room couple of times. Not fun to look for if you are outdoors.

Didn't detach bolt from gas piston. From my army experience, this was the trickiest part as it wasn't as simple as putting a stick in a hole. You need to put those parts together at the right angle and spin the bolt 90 degrees before you shove the piston into the gas tube.
yeah i always spent 50% of the time putting it back because that was like a lottery if your chamber can close. if you're not strong enough, you might not even open it after that

It's not patriotized (as some ru media like to tell) and is very interesting and helpful. In my school we even had a competition on who can disassemble/assemble AK the fastest.

I that order the Colonel will be yelling like crazy at Skif for being to slow,but other than that its a nice detail.
I've been in uniform class. I had it on lessons from subject: internal safeness at high school. (It was some military, rescue, public entities lessons)
In vietnam we were taught how to do it in class, it was also part of the final, if the disassembling and assembling took too long then you simply have to do it again until you get under one minute (which is not even that hard lets be real here)
To the Westeners: The Warsaw Pact and 2nd world was the greatest threat to the rest as in entire Eastern Block every man turning 18 was forced to military one year draft to learn things like this, which was creating unlimited manpower in World War 3, being stopable only by use of WMD like dropping over 300 nukes at Vistula and Oder river. The only escape from mandatory draft was to being physicly disabled or going to collage.

He pulls the trigger to put the striker forward, which is a standard maneuver done during making sure a weapon is clear of its ammunition. (it's also done after a disassembly to make sure the trigger works)
reminder: most of the developers conscripted into Ukrainian armed forces during development even one of them died during war (and despite of variety of small arms in AFU, majority of them are AKs so those devs are familiar with AK)

For you to correctly utilize the term assemble here, we'd be needing at the very least a shop press and headspacing tools et all, even welding equipment by some standards. It's all good, English is a nebulous language. Just worth noting if any of you truly want to be on the autism level of someone like me who works in the defense industry.
