It's not just his latest special, he's never made a good special. Joe tries to compensate for really weak material by pulling faces, yelling, and humping inanimate objects for 90 minutes.
Somebody made a really good point that said these podcast circuit comedians are filling up these venues with fans of the pods who are only laughing because they’re caught up in the cult of personality of the guy on stage. And it’s absolutely ruining stand comedy.
And considering all the "self improvement," he supposedly does that's saying a lot... dude probably doesn't go to therapy because he thinks it's fake and gay having another person Analyze his thoughts and feelings for him.
I'll tell you a secret.... Joe Rogan's "Comedy" has Never been Good. Nor is he anywhere near as intelligent as people think he is... It's only now that society has gotten so Stupid that a guy like him has made it to the top. This isn't me "hating". Hell, I give anyone props who makes it to his level of success. These are just facts . When 90 percent of society is brain dead, then you end up with "Joe Rogans" as the kinds of people who are looked up to.
Success has turned Rogan into an insufferable knowitall. He used to ask questions out of genuine curiosity, now he’s a poster child for confirmation bias who repeats any unverified claim as long as it comports with his increasingly narrow worldview.
When Rogan said " There's only a few of *US* " ...I know Katt wanted to tell him, "You're not one of us". I don't understand why Rogan thinks he's a funny comedian. He's decently funny as a podcast host, but his standup has always been trash. Someone needs to tell him the truth.
I got through half of this special and stopped, and am interested in some neutral opinions. I struggle with how he talks about comedy compared to his set. He’s not clever, he yells a lot and he was explaining some of his punchlines for some reason. He was also trying to be woke and anti-woke at the same time in my opinion. It was weird. The crowd seemed confused. I think he’s a victim of his own fame, he should just be the world’s richest comedy appreciator and hang his mike up. Time for Brendan to give him the talk.
Funny is speaking truth to power. Emperor no clothes type thing. Rogan is the power though. Funny would therefore be him destroying himself through poignant self reflection. But he's very far from there.
Yeah, the fact that he didn't weed that line out and thought it was a keeper says something about his standards. If they're that low, he's not gonna do a good set, because that line's weak.
I didn't want to include it but legit has a similar joke to Schaub. It's about how he wishes he was gay since it's way easier. Schaub did the same thing about how it would be easier being gay during the lockdowns with his bros.
My 100% unfiltered non-biased thoughts. As a UFC addict I am a fan of Joe Rogan. Because of that I ended up watching his Netflix special. I did not laugh once and I felt so embarrassed. It was one of those rare times when somebody does something that is just so awkward and embarrassing that you actually feel uncomfortable and strangely embarrassed yourself while watching. I am shocked that somebody did not tell Joe how absolutely beyond terrible these jokes were.
@whatevereyewant to be fair, he owns his own comedy club whose audience adors him inside those walls. Giving him free reign to fuck up and work on material until it is the top of the mountain. It can go both ways. Better than a lot of people can do but with his status he should do better than 99% of people.
Joe talking to katt Williams and acting like he is one of the greats "There are so few of us" Nearly made me fall out of my seat from laughter the first time hearing it LMAO. If you ever hear anyone say they are going to a rogan show or just got back from seeing rogan, ask them what the hell is wrong with them. To this day I have yet to find specimen or meet one person that has went to a joe brogan comedy show. Also, If you have seen kill tony with rogan, then you know rogan is one of the most insufferable people and is so awkward. It is an "experience" to say the least.
Let’s look at it logically, how many of the box office movie stars are actually good actors.. the same is true for comedy. Kevin Hart hasn’t been funny for decades, the Rock cannot act to save his life. World loves stars and the world wants to see more of them. It’s never been about quality tbh.
The rock has one role I like, the Gay-Goon in Be Cool.. He can be funny if Character he acts is funny.. Other than that one,He's always the same character.
Agrred. My brother was a stand-up, and can confirm there are far more than 500 Comics worldwide, but I think he was referring to Comics that have become some type of a household name.

And there's not one who I think is truly extraordinary. Those considered the greatest - Louis CK, Chappelle, Burr, Katt... - I like, but I can't remember the last time any of them dropped a start to finish banger. Fully agree with you. It's like he wrote the majority of his jokes as a way to voice his anger. Like, himself deprecating" jokes were the best ones of this special, because it wasn't born of anger.
That opening clip just rattles me to the core like if ypur not famous and paid you cannot be considered a comedian. There are way more than 500 funny people who work on material to make people laugh at the drop of a hat

Good or bad, Joe provides a lot of entertainment for me at the gym, walking, driving, or working. I've never been a huge fan of his stand up, but the man provides value for a lot of people. Good or bad, he provides me with a lot of entertainment and it doesn't take much for me to put it on and support him. At the end of the day it's your choice whether or not you choose to support him.
No one disparages has podcasting acumen. All the hate is from the sad & true fact he is not terribly funny. He’s much funnier on his podcast than on a stage. He uses loud, aggressive voices, makes impossible facial contortions and aural microphone manipulation to overwhelm the audience in a feeble attempt at enhancing his mediocre “jokes”. Joe’s standup makes you go, “heh…..heh….heh”-never “AHAHAHAHA!” And it’s been this way for decades now. No improvements. Same mid set time & time again. True story and let's be honest, Katt has seen better days too. If Katt's newer stuff is mediocre, what's that make Rogan? Not good, that's for sure.
He’s not even a funny podcast host. He’s actually anti funny. He sucks the funny out of any room he walks into.
