    Were you born to teach? You know what I love more than a great tutorial? A great tutorial taught by someone who is 100% switched on to the subject they are teaching! I hate it when you get some guy who spends more time saying "um, oh, sorry... why did that happen", then actually telling you how to do something!!!!
    Excellent tutorial, excellent knowledge and excellent style. Many thanks!

    my guy if you're still here looking at comments 9 years later, I just wanna say thank you and congratulations! this video was so freaking entertaining, fun and informative, I don't know nothing about cinema 4D and these 3d tools but it really made me interested in the subject

    You are one of the best teachers I've ever come across. That's 38 minutes and not a single second of boredom! And even better I finally know how to use layers in C4D.

    I have watched heaps of TuT and i have to say yours is the best i have watch...not once did you say to do this then changed your mind 20mins into it.

  • @Mrleo291
    @Mrleo291 9 лет назад +7

    Well, i realy have to say this. Your videos are awsome! Most "tutorials" for C4D are just step by step videos, but yours are different. You explain everything and tell us how to use it. Keep your work up. You're making a really good job there!

    • @Saur
      @Saur 9 лет назад +2

      +Mrleo291 This is exactly what I was thinking. I've been having a tough time finding the information I need (if I hear another patronising repetition of "go ahead and..." I'll scream), but these videos are a gold mine!

    Just watched this tutorial tonight because I needed a quick eye replacement. This was amazing. Not just for making an eye, but for learning a lot about how C4D works and how to get the most out of materials.

    Some real learning happening for people here, not just instruction. Very nice! I used to teach CG at a local college, and I'm pretty sure you could take the instructors I worked with to school with your delivery (myself included). You've made something that could make someone cross-eyed (yes, I went there) into something enjoyable and straightforward.

    This is the best tutorial I have ever watched. I'm an intermediate C4D user and there are so many useful lessons packed into this single tutorial, yet delivered in a very thorough and eloquent manner. I would have to guess you are an educator by profession for the medical visualization community. You are a master of your craft. Excellent!

    Thanks! That worked, sort of. Haha! It combined them, but now all the clones roll corneas down. They look like eyeball weeble wobbles. I think I just need to mess around with the rotation settings.
    By the way, you seriously have the best tutorials on RUclips. Please continue making them.

    top notch mate! This is a very good tutorial, especially because you´re very precise and you dont explain the very basics which is always some sort of a pain in the a** to go through again and again with every tutorial. I´ve started learning Cinema some years ago because being creative with 3d and also photography is my dearest hobby and what I put much much free time in, because haha I´ve probably chosen the wrong profession and need that as a compensation for my boring every day finance nonsense. So all my knowledge about graphics is self taught. But back to your tutorial: I always had a bit of problems with creating realistic materials in c4d but after your tutorial... no problem anymore after I understood that inside the materials its basically working like ps, with all the masking etc..That really improved my workflow. Thanks man!

    How to animate the pupil dilating (without using Xpresso):
    This is just how I did it, I'm sure there are other ways.
    1. Turn on PLA (Point Level Animation). To do this, click on the small icon in the Animation Toolbar that looks like 9 dots, three of which are orange.
    2. Go to the start of your timeline.
    3. Select the inside loop of the pupil.
    4. Use the scale tool to shrink it down.
    5. Add a keyframe.
    6. Go to the end of your timeline.
    7. Select the inside loop of the pupil.
    8. Use the scale tool to enlarge it.
    9. Add a keyframe.
    Done! Feel free to reply with any questions. Amazing tutorial btw :)

    That is correct. Did I say it was driven by luminance? If so I apologize. I was meaning to explain that fresnel can be used as more than just a mask in the reflection channel, but can also be used in the color or luminance channel to achieve edge lighting (based on the angle of light to object surface to camera).

    SioPio, first of all i reall love this tutorial you tell it all so clear. but i thought of one little thing to improve it (not sure if it works): if you add a displacement to the eyeball texture and use the water effect and a layermask you could let those vains pop out just a little bit so it isnt just a flat eyeball! i think it looks really cool
    But thanks for sharing your skils with us :D

    I have to say that I just installed this program on my computer a few days ago. I am very creative and detail oriented, however, I know zilch about this program in general. Thing is that you, my friend, you have taken an absolute newbie to this and taught me to create one of the most incredible, beautiful eyeballs I have ever seen in my life! Now I would just like to know how I can take this amazing creation and upload it to my second life interface so that I can sell what you have taught me to create. There are very few people in second life that have mesh eyes available and I would like to be one of them! :) Thank you so much for the glimps into your creative mind! I am now your biggest fan and will for sure be following you!
    Now my NEXT project is to create an animated version of ME to use in my music videos! I do cover songs and would love to create original content for the videos rather than just taking videos of myself singing and merging them with other aspects in my Sony Vegas. I'm sure that's another day though. :) Thanks again!!! GREAT JOB!!!
