  • In this video we spend 3 days camping in the beautiful Glencoe Mountains, we take a quick look around the visitor centre which was just at the side of our campsite. We also hike up The Pap of Glencoe which has spectacular views at the top.

Hi Alan & Jane, thank you for such kind words, it makes the videos worth making if we can help or inspire people in some way or another so we are glad you have got your self's out camping....good on you both. Like yourselves we should have plenty of camping trips next year so hopefully we can get some more videos made.

I just watched the 4 of you sleeping in the van about a year ago because I'm looking for ideas to sleep in my car. I have to say your (daughter?) Seems like she really doesn't want any part of this. And remembering being a teenager I don't blame her. I would want privacy and not have to sleep that close to my parents. So I watched a couple recent videos just to see an update and you don't talk about your kids or wife much. That would help you grow a following if you did because people would feel more of a connection through your videos. How do they feel about everything? Living in a van with their parents? Very curious to know if it just comes across like your daughter is miserable to a viewer or if she's actually ok and feels great ect? Hope everything is good! Just thought I'd put that out there if you haven't thought of it.

Hi Shauna, thanks for the comment. I'll just clear a few things up from your points. First off we don't live in the van, we live in a 3 bed house we're she has her own room and all the privacy she wants. We do however use the van on a couple of occasions In the winter when it's just a bit too cold for the tent, but this is generally on a campsite we're she has as much privacy as any other person would get on a campsite.
Also you are right she isn't very comfortable being on camera but to be honest we are all still learning to be comfortable in front of the camera as it is a very awkward thing to do which is why you here and see more of me on camera as I'm the one willing to do the talking etc.
As for her being miserable, don't forget you are only seeing a snapshot of a video we're she and all of us are out of our comfort zones in front of a camera, she has been camping since she was 6 so has no issues with any outdoor situation or luxury limitations and loves the outdoors but you probably won't see that as she isn't overly keen on being filmed but sadly not because she doesn't enjoy what we do but because of the possibility of her being bullied ect from kids at school.
So yeh it's a fine balance between sharing what we do to help and inspire other people and also not exposing ourselves so much as to have it used against us.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
