Tried that Fraser but the experience we had with it is because its cast aluminium, it doesn't stay hot enough or get hot enough to cook the cheese properly before the bottom of the pizza has gone black. Thanks for watching

@@itsthenortherners you need to heat it more then. Another way is to heat stones and put them on it. It can be done believe me. You're expecting results quickly. Take your time and don't heat the underside of the pizza too much/quickly

We have a diesel heater in the van so its not really a problem keeping warm ( it can be a problem getting to hot). Ive watchedva few videos were people have used electric blankets with the big power packs like jackerys as they are low power consumption. We always try to pre cook what we can .......more time for drinking 😆. Thanks for watching the videos.

@@itsthenortherners We are going through the same thing. Our son is 17 this year and wants to spend more time with his mates. We are torn between changing to a VW or just keeping the Landcruiser to take us camping. Catherine wants more luxury, so we are thinking let's drive over to Europe not towing and camp on the way, but book an airbnb at the final destination. That way she gets her luxury and I get my camping and we stay married. Btw, belting nights up Bolton i recall.

@whereveraway yeh we have a 17yr old daughter who practically lives at her boyfriends and our 13yr old son who plays for 2 football teams so at the minute its football every weekend which is stopping us getting out at all at the minute. Bolton used be a beltin night out but theres nothing realy there now.

Hi, thanks for the question. We have the 5 kw and its never been to hot or to loud. But as for outside use i have no idea and especially at -15. Their is another RUclips channel i like to watch called Talonsei, he does a lot of overlanding and he uses an external diesel heater so if you have a look at his videos he does some test on them using them in freezing conditions at high altitudes so that might help you decide.👍

Hi, Shell Island is a wide open site exposed to the sea which makes it both brilliant and hard work depending on what weather you experience, but i think on a basic level the must haves are a good sleeping bag or some way of making sure your warm and comfortable whilst sleeping otherwise your waking up 2 or 3 time during the night because of the cold and then your tired for the rest of the day so keeping warm whilst sleeping is a must, Hope you enjoy your trip.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, it was quite a while ago when we did this so i cant remember the exact size but I did the search on Amazon for heavy-duty draw sliders and then just choose what size I needed, they also show you the weight capacity in Kgs so you can work out which ones you need. Hope that helps.

I think it was called Llyn Padarn, it was about 15min drive from Bryn Gloch campsite.

Hi Christopher, The little funfair is in Barmouth, which is about a 15 min drive from the island. There are a few campsites around that are but none that we have actually stayed other than Shellisland, there is one at the end of the road heading to Shellisland which i think is called Nancot campsite, but there are others as you drive into Shellisland. Im not sure if it has a name but the campsite in which you get access is called Shell Island in Wales.
