Purdue fan here. We know we don't have a chance. We know we're going to get clobbered. We're just happy to be here.
We’ll Michigan will let it be a close game till halftime . They enjoy doing that for some reason lol
Either we get murdered, and we expect that. Or we win, and the BIG10 will never hear the end of it. Either way we are happy
I think Purdue will come out amped and make it a game in the 1st half. Then Michigan will do what it has all season in the second half
Prayers to your QB .... Michigan is on a mission you're team just happens to be in the way.....Go BLUE 🔵
I think it might be a close game for a half, but I agree Michigan should win comfortably
There's a difference between catching a top 5 team off guard in October and beating them in the B1G championship game. Purdue has Michigan's full attention this week
And in a dome, on turf
I kinda feel like it's not even just that, Harbough last year did something in the championship game they'd never done before, where they had the game in the bag and just ran up the score and started passing when they could've just run out the clock. This program is not letting off the gas pedal for any team, big school or small school.
There's also a difference between teams from years ago and this year's team. Which should be obvious.
@@creefer it is to us that follow the program and know this team. Cfb fans have been sleeping on michigan too long.
Betting on Harbaugh is good but be careful hes not looking to beat Purdue by 30 he's looking to beat TCU and Georgia.
A Purdue W would be the most Purdue thing to ever happen
I find it funny that for the last 3 - 4 weeks people were saying that Georgia and Ohio State were the 2 most balanced teams, even though Ohio State had been giving up 20+ points all year to anyone and everyone. Meanwhile, Michigan has been present nearly every week and contained Ohio State's "prolific" offense last week and had dominated Penn State.
Never been to or on a RUclips channel that has someone like Josh who knows his stuff. I was born and raised in Florida before I retired from the U. S. Marines. Now I live in San Francisco, CA since all my family passed away. And look forward to his videos every week and have spread the news of the channel to 100's + people here in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, San Jose, etc. I love your channel so please stay the same for you and your cast have the most complete, informative, professional site. I wish you the utmost respect in all you choose to do. P. S. It very sad that I do not have an Academy Sports store near me. Wishing you the best.
People said the same thing about iowa last year and they lost 42-3
Purdue is not Iowa lol. They leveled Iowa that same season.
Dear Michigan fans: DO NOT underestimate Purdue, they are the upset team, just dont lose focus.
I hope the PLAYERS don't underestimate Purdue. The FANS don't play the game.
I 100% agree. I will be holding my breath until the time I no longer have to.
Yeah Purdue is good at pulling off the upsets. They make me nervous lol
Yep we don't call them the spoilermakers for no reason. Highly unlikely but Imma be pulling for it and Utah and K-State. Chaos!!!
Agreed..I said it a few times already but Michigan should win the game but they will have to earn it! Purdue will not roll over..Go Blue〽️😊
just goes to show you that Michigan will put in the work this week to not take a win for granted!
Michigan fan here, and given the showing by Illinois in the Big House a couple weeks ago, this could be a closer game that odds makers predict. Yes, the Wolverines had a great win in Columbus, but I see that matchup as an anomaly due to the historic rivalry of the two schools and consider Purdue as a serious challenger, especially if Michigan doesn’t bring their A game. We shall see…
I think your comment is the most balanced. I agree. We should never look by anybody call the Big Ten West Champion, ever!
I concur that it could happen I’m not one to bank on massive blowouts or anything. That being said Michigan was in a clear situation of having significant potential to look ahead , and they were down multiple significant starters in that game , top two rbs, a few offensive lineman , best defensive lineman etc . Doesn’t mean that should be overly confident and overlook Purdue …just saying I think we handle bsusiness like usual .stressful first half and then water board em in the second half . But I fully expect Purdue to be on fire j that first quarter especially …and they have a whole bunch of trick plays in their playbook. I’m sure we will be well acquainted with some of them
Not at all am I downplaying the Purdue top 5 stat but we went in against Iowa last year who had a very similar stat of spoiling teams.
and this year at kinnik,
Dont overlook this one boys. Go Blue!
Michigan Offensive line , Don’t let Purdue’s defense breath !
I'm always leary of the upset ability of Purdue since Bob Griese beat us in the 60s. Thank God he made up for it by giving us his son to lead Meechigan to a National championship in 97. Go Blue!!!
Purdue's real moniker is Spoilermakers.
Can you pick Purdue please, I enjoyed laughing my ass off at your Ohio st game prediction.
Haha!! Lmao!!!
〽️
Don’t sleep on Purdue for sure
I'm not cocky but confident Michigan is on a serious mission championship nothing less
70s-2000, The Game typically decided the winner of the Big Ten.
Purdue nickname has been the Spoil Makers. Michigan better be focused.
They will. It’s a championship game
Yes that's all facs but I know Michigan will be well prepared there on a mission from the football gods
Any team that somehow gives up 24 points to probably one of the worst Iowa offenses I have ever seen in my entire life has no shot at winning a conference championship.
Michigan just won by 22 at Columbus. Why would anyone think they can't cover a 17 point spread against Purdue?
All Purdue's top 5 victories have been during the regular season against unprepared teams. Not this year friend. Go Blue!
There was serious Spoilermaker talk all week for each one of those
yes unprepared teams....you can't be serious
Michigan 44-17
Two of those wins were at home. That Iowa team lost to Michigan by a score of 42-3. MSU had a horrible pass defense and the game reflected that.
The pro style O-line and D-line that Harbaugh has implemented will wear down Purdue on both sides of the ball and Michigan will do what they always do in the second half.....UM 17 ~ PU 10 at the half......Final...UM 45 ~ PU 17
Which one of Purdue's wins were in the B1G championship? Winning on a random Sat afternoon during the season is great but way different than when the lights are on and you're the only game everyone is watching.
All 3 upsets were national network tv, two night games, one road game
@@arc-audio And the stakes were.......a win during the season where they felt no pressure. Actually, the MSU one was tailored for their air raid offense and MSU's swiss cheese pass D, I think everyone called that one.
I mean, a 42-10 loss is about the best that Purdue can hope for
You’re prob right, but this is what fans always sound like before they get Spoilermaker’d
Purdue has spoiled more than one teams chances at victory. _Don't take _*_ANYTHING_*_ for granted Michigan faithful!_
I like how big ten is currently structured cause most tge 4 stars and 5 stars are concentrated in Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. It gives other teams a chance like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois to make it to big ten championship. Just making it there and better on consistent basis will have recruits gravitate towards the underdog programs.
This will not be a cake walk for Michigan. Purdue will show to play and they'll play with pride. Michigan better not take this game for granted or they will get embarrassed by the Boilermakers.
they aren't going to. have you even listeed to JJ afer the game, and other players, and the coaches. they were very happy about their win, and said. at this point it means nothing. and that they highly respect purdue and this i not going to be overlooked. relax
@@Johnadams20760 And this right here is why we are fans and not the players. We get the luxury of overlooking. lol
Good point on the potential rematch of Michigan vs. OSU in the championship game if they get rid of divisions diminishes the importance, drama and excitement over The Game.
Of course, as a Michigan fan, I would have paid big to see a rematch after the 2016 robbing of Michigan in The Game. That was a close game despite the bad officiating... 2OT.
But, given large wins like OSU had in 2018, 19 and Michigan had in '21 and '22, maybe with those big wins they don't deserve to have a rematch.
That being said, let's not sleep on Purdue. Michigan having some of their best players banged up can give Purdue a chance. Jeff Brohm is good at finding one small weakness and going at it incessantly and surprising very good teams.
Michigan hopes it won't be that competitive, but you can never sleep on a very hyped group of kids who are excited to be there and want to make a statement.
People said the same thing when Michigan went to IOWA earlier in the season. Michigan needs to come prepared, don’t overlook PUR and handle their business.
It will be for a chance for the other teams in the conference to get to the Big Ten championship game if you have Ohio State and Michigan in the same game every year no other teams going to have a chance.
I have seen a lot of talk in media (like everyone else) but THIS is going to be a game. Purdue is a game opponent at 8-4 and Brohm as a coach? Yeah..don’t count the chickens until they hatch. I believe this is Michigans game to lose but hopefully they come ready, hungry and full of determination or it could be a long day
This is all gravy for Purdue fans, we expect to lose 50-0 but the random wins over ranked teams with cocky fans are FUN when they happen.
Not true we are not all cocky, don't lump us all together, that's lazy. Most football fan understand the game is played on the field and that's why the game is played. We are not taking Purdue for granted. Don't let loud mouth fans give you the impression we think this is a cake walk. When you have Big Ten West Champions after your name you have our attention.
As a Purdue alum I hope you are are wrong, but I fear that you are right. But I won't bet on a game where the spread is more than 10 points. Teams have no incentive to win by more than that, so I am going to pass. But I might take the over.
You think Purdue can't run? Then you have not watched the games after all. That is why y'all (Nerds included) get blind-sided. Your "stats per game" don't cut it. They measure consistency over the season, not game day performance. Will enjoy watching the "experts" scramble again after this one. There's a reason Brohm is 3 for 3 against top five teams. If I'm wrong, I'll come back and eat crow. If I'm right, I'll just watch.
Purdue has nothing to lose. Doesn't matter if they win or lose this game.
They have a rose bowl appearance to lose
@@valdoggold Rose Bowl can pass on Purdue and probably would.
@Mark rapacki But it doesn't change their fate.
I do believe that Michigan will win, but this is a very dangerous game. The Michigan OFFENSIVE LINE will have to continue to be the Best Players on the field and continue to be the true catalyst for Michigan victories. As they wear down Purdue. Michigan ought to win this game quarter by quarter, but I do hope they get off to a Fast Start and do not let off the gas whatsoever. I expect the game to be about 37 to 28.
Purdue by 2. Emotional let down. Talent gap isn't as big as people think.
Purdue doesn’t have the defense to take the run game away or shut down 5 star RBs
I'll be watching...Purdue is no joke offensively, Michigan has unfinished business before they can face Georgia. Jeff Brohm is doing very well at Purdue....I kind of wanted Tennessee to go after him when they were looking a couple years ago. But so far it seems Josh Heupel is turning out OK.
Hopefully Purdue will not become the spoilermaker. They have that ability. I don't believe that Michigan will take this team for granted. I think they'll play it as though it's their last chance to advance. Go Blue Meechigan.
Don't sleep on the Boilermakers. If you look past them to the next game, you may get beat. I don't think that will actually happen but don't take the win for granted. Show the world why you belong in the CFP. GO BLUE!!
Michigan 35
Purdue 17
Rondale Moore isn't walking through those doors. Michigan big. God, that hurts to write about the team up north.
Is Mike Morris going to play ? What is the status of his injury.
Purdue beat Illinois by more points at Illinois than Michigan did at home , good games to look at as it was a common opponent
Michigan has dominated all year on both sides of the ball. Stronger and deeper. Buy the 3rd or 4th quarter the opponent is worn down. Every point the opposition gets with a price.
Michigan has the best O-line in the country and their defense is stellar so Purdue needs at least 5 turnovers to have a chance.
hey let me know what michigan point differential is vs uga against P5 or ranked opponents ? i’ll wait lol - matters a little more - especially knowing uga sits on their leads and is still at what almost 28 ppg too - and uga has given up a ton of fluke garbage time tds as well
@Kevin Hensley - Here's what I know about uga(ly) from this past season when it comes to playing a group of 5 Kent State team that finished 5-7: 39-22. Didn't cover the spread on that one. What about a power 5, but very sub-par Missouri team? Oh yeah, didn't cover the spread on that one either (and should have lost that game). I'm not sure, but I'd venture to guess that the bull (shit)dogs didn't cover on that game against the mighty Samford team of the FCS, and could only muster 3 whole points against them in the 2nd half. LOL. Hey...why don't you go and see how much M beat the team they played this past season against an FCS. Go on...I'll wait (btw...M didn't play an FCS team this past season). Did GA cover and then sit on the lead in their mammoth 10 point win over mediocre Kentucky (a 16-6 win)? Michigan had multiple ass-whoopin' wins this past season over power 5 teams, including a 22 point win over an Ohio State team that smacked your bulldoggies around in the Peach Bowl...a game those bulldoggies only won because the refs didn't have the balls to call a blatant, disgusting targeting penalty (no one seems to have the balls to make proper calls if making those calls could result in E(SEC)PN not getting an SEC team in their precious CFP championship game. You know, the SEC...the conference that has a contract with ESPN, which is the network that just so happens to own the SEC network. What a joke. You know, the bulldogs are a phenomenal team. They really are. And they more than deserve to be the national champs in 2021 and 2022 (although I find it funny that everyone seems to think GA would have beaten M because they whooped TCU, who beat Mich by 6 points. Of course, no one seems to remember the game I just mentioned...OSU vs GA. M made the buckeyes their bitch, and yet the buckeyes bitch slapped the crap put of the bull(shit) doggies. How convenient that is. Finally, I have no issue admitting that GA is a phenomenal team and deserves their championships. Unfortunately, it's all you jack-ass SEC fans who make it impossible for anyone to give two shits about any SEC teams or fans. M not only could have, but would have smacked the bulldogs around. But it was SEC refs who would not let that game come to fruition (taking a td way from M who everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, knew was a sure td). Must have been nice to have that championship game rigged for your little doggies. Btw, you can respond to this if you want, but it'll be a waste of your time. I'm blocking you now...and never read replies anyway. Bye bye now.
Purdue will play a UM team hungry for a championship. Winning the BIG title back to back is an honor, and a national championship.
In my biased view as a Michigan alum, the national championship game will be Georgia vs Michigan and we will win the Big 10 championship in back-to-back years for the first time since the early 90's. I've got nothing against Purdue, I think they're good players with a good coach
Lmao They stated the exact same stats about Iowa before Mich went into Kinnick Stadium this year. What happened?
The playoffs have made this game kinda obsolete which sux cuz we're out there risking injury needlessly
Michigan wins but Purdue in the points. My prediction is 42-27. I give Purdue a chance for sure because their coach with Purdue is 3-0 against top 5 teams. That’s kind of wild and scary lol But I just think this Michigan team is ready for anything. Purdues passing game in a big time game will probably step it up and get more points on a Michigan defense than we expect but I think Michigan will lay it on them in the 4th with that O line and Edwards. I believe Corum will be out to rest for playoffs. I really hope Mike Morris is back to get some pressure on their QB though.
I try to be humble in my prediction. You would think Michigan would blow them out but Purdue is one of those teams that is going to give teams issues.
I'm more worried about the players Michigan is going to sit to get healthy for the playoffs cuz they can't keep rolling out there like they did vs OSU cuz Edward's with 1 hand no balls security,Mike Morris couldn't keep playing, Corum couldn't keep playing, Schoonmaker needed more health and probably some others lol
Oh there is plenty of reasons to have Michigan ranked number one. Lets start with their win against Ohio St that after the loss is still ranked higher than Georgia's best win. Structurally I prefer it, because if Ohio St does manage to get in because USC screws up or TCU gets blown out by Kansas St, then Ohio St will play Georgia instead of a rematch with Michigan. Both will be tested against good opponent and if they survive that then they deserve to be a rematch.
At this point the only reason USC is ranked above Ohio St is because they are playing for their conference championship because Ohio St's loss is still better. If they lose it to a team ranked below Ohio St in the first place then that kind of cements Ohio St's case. TCU is basically the same because of Kansas St's rank even though they have improved it which is probably justified because of the health issues for them during the season if your judging relative strength. Ohio St still would have a better case but thats not necessarily a great case and I think we should favor diversity of conferences inside the playoffs when it is not unfair to do so and its close.
My hats off to USC though. They have definitely made noise the first year with a new coach, I wish them success.
Here is one you should think about. We already know to this day the hardest competition Georgia has seen was teams plagued with defensive issues. What if LSU manages to stop the running game of Georgia and they have to rely on Stetson Bennett who has shown to be very inconsistent and he has an off day? Now I don't think this is gonna happen because I believe Georgia is a very good team and I think the other division as a whole is not as good as in previous years. Are you gonna ignore that?
Spoilermakers! Ask Notre Dame, Michigan State, Iowa of years gone by and the ones recently, mentioned in the broadcast here. With that being said, hopefully we (Purdue) don't get embarrassed!
Michigan 30 Purdue 17
This is exactly how the game is gonna go. Ready? Ok.
The game will start with both teams starting off good but having trouble to score then MI will get a touchdown and a field goal to take a 10-0 lead then Purdue will kick a field goal before the half (10-3) then MI (like they always have been this season) will dominate offensively & defensively the second half scoring 3 or 4 td’s while Purdue either gets another field goal or 1 touchdown. Therefore your final score is MI 34-40, Purdue 10-13. See y’all in 2 days
Josh your a smart man and Michigan isn't buy into Purdue rolling over. No way Jim is taking Purdue for granted no way. He'll spend all week reminding the team what they'll feel like leaving that stadium with an L. If Purdue runs 70 plays, 63 for zero yards and 7 are touchdowns that's not good for Michigan. what did Michigan do to OSU? 5 or 6 big plays, 2 interceptions, should have been 1 fumble and 1 bone head headbutt. That equals 10 plays and you got OSU scratching their heads asking what happened. I've watch this game to long.
After we whoop Purdue's Boilermaking asses, we're gonna forget about them just like we forgot about who ever we played in the Big10 Championship last year. We're scoring 56 on Saturday!!!
@Mark rapacki - Who did we beat today? I can't remember.
Why is this game at night? Hmmm...I'm guessing because of the World Series?
Now If Purdue beat Michigan, they'll win the Big Ten Championship and they'll go to the Rose Bowl, Michigan win or lose they'll still be in the playoffs and Ohio State will go to the New Year's Six Bowl unless either TCU or USC lose and they'll be in the playoffs and Penn State will be out of the New Year's Six Bowl because of Purdue win and they'll go to the Citrus Bowl.
Michigan will win this in dominant fashion probably 41-13. Michigan has a dominant D-Line a good LB group and a top-tier Secondary. The offensive line is the best in the nation as a group. They have above average WR and TE groups and with every game the QB is getting better. Besides Corum Michigan will be returning a lot of our talent next year. LETSGOBLUE.
Boiler up!
It appears every time I watched a Purdue game against an opponent that has everything to lose, Purdue win. Purdue wins this game.
Did Purdue ever do anything worth a shit away from Ross Ade?
I believe Michigan, OSU, PSU, Maryland and even MSU could have won the B1G West if they played Purdue's schedule. Absurd that the 6th best team in the conference plays in the title game. End this absurdity.
It seems like West division was made based on the assumption that Wisconsin and Iowa (and I guess Nebraska lol) would be annual national powerhouses. They all suck this year so Purdue slips in at 8-4. Penn St and/or Mich St should probably be in the West, and maybe a rename is due.
12% chance that Purdue wins. Nothing to do with ranking. Its point spread. Vegas aint wrong often win spread is this wide.
Was Purdue at home for these upsets?
2 home, 1 away
take the points. michigan don't want it as much.
College Football Nerds are great. If their picks don't match the results, it's because something special happened. And that's what makes college football awesome.
Michigan fans have not been humble and I would imagine the mich players are the more or less the same. Purdue won't win but they could pull an illinois and make this game tight. Stay humble wolverines, ya never know!
@Mark rapacki I would imagine that michigan wins easily. But michigan has been business all year. Last year i truly thought mich winning was a fluke. Then, after osu played ND, I started to wonder if what harbaugh said about 3rd base was true. Then i started watching almost all of the mich games this year, obviously osu too. And after about 4-5 games for both teams, I really started to think maybe last year wasn't a fluke and osu is in trouble. I think mich now owns the big 10 and harbaugh will fare better this year in the playoffs. RYAN DAY is not elite. He was def born on 3rd.
Be careful how much stock you put in the nerds of the sec. They haven't picked the michigan ohio state game right in years.
Purdue wins, but does not cover spread.🤪
Everyone in ann arbor is saying just give the trophy to them
No they're not. It’s actually the opposite. All year this Team has focused one game at a time. As JJ in the post game on the field interview, we're not done, which meant next- game focus. No one is taking anything for granted.
@Mark rapacki The next game is this Saturday
They are calling this a conference championship??? If you're playing a team like Purdue in your conference championship, your conference is terrible.
It’s just the Big ten west, not the whole conf
Also the sec west says hello lol LSU getting beat by a 4 win team.
Man the hate for michigan is crazy keep hating we keep winning
Is anyone except the player’s families going to watch this?
One thing to keep in mind about Purdue’s 3-0 record vs top 5 teams is that they all occurred at home. While Indy is only like an hour from west Lafayette, I can guarantee you that it will feel like a home game for Michigan when it comes to the fans who will be there
Can confirm: will be there. Michigan is 13-0 when I have been in attendance so that is pretty much a lock.
Purdue beat number 2 Iowa in Iowa last year
@@cruderschmidt Iowa was super overrated last year. They lost the next week to Wiscy, then won4 1 possession games before getting mollywhopped in the big10 championship and losing a bowl game. The only real top 5 win was the '18 game vs. osu, at home with a blackout, with a kid in a wheelchair on the sideline.
@@arc-audio that wasn't my stat, little buddy
@@arc-audio how was he wrong? granted they did beat Michigan State, but they were almost as overrated as Iowa was being completely one dimensional.
Michigan is not going to do ANYTHING in this game. Just run the ball, show as little as possible
Michigan respects Purdue as an opponent but by no means are they taking them lightly. But as it has done with every other team this season, the Michigan defence will make Purdue one dimensional and shut down Charlie Jones and whoever else poses an offensive threat. A stout mauling defence modelled on the Baltimore Ravens by the way of Jesse Minter, the DC with NFL pedigree will crank up a ferocious pass rush to pressure the Purdue QB into mistakes. Mike Morris, named Big Ten defensive lineman of the year will lead that rush. So expect to see a lot of third and longs for Purdue once the M defence dials it in. On offence, Michigan will grind Purdue down with an offensive line that will maul you and gets stronger as the game goes on. If not Corum, then Donovan Edwards, who went off for 216 yards against a better OSU defence. After returning from the half time break, having made the necessary adjustments, Michigan will go into boa constrictor mode and strangle whatever life is left of Purdue. If you haven't been paying attention, this has been Harbaugh's modus operandi all season. Michigan dictates the terms of play by running it down your throat until you wear out. Statistics show that there isn't a better 2nd half team in the Big10 than Michigan. Wolverines will prevail and more than cover the spread. It won't be close.
I'm surprised you didn't take this time to talk about Texas A&M josh! Hahahah jk but they suck and you're always covering them
It means nothing.
Watch out for the Spoilermakers! B1G >> SEC Go Blue!
Mich 38-20
Michigan fan here , I’m betting on Purdue to win this game ! They’ve got the kryptonite
That’s bold, man! I like it!
Purdue has a chance because they don't play Wisconsin.
C'mon spoilermakers!!!!
@Mark rapacki it is highly unlikely but the way this season has been it definitely could happen.
@Mark rapacki apparently you haven't paid attention to most of the games this season because it's been all over the place. Nothing is a given this season. Not even Georgia. Again as I said highly unlikely but not impossible.
Moving penn st to the west makes sense moving Ohio or Michigan doesn't.that would mean much and Ohio wouldnt play at the end of the year every year.the fact we are even talking about Ohio beyond the rose bowl is funny.its ticket sales and tv ratings.not talent or quality of the product
Ok, let’s remember history. Purdue is what Michigan fans call them, the “Spoiler Makers” ... Why, because these guys have beat Michigan and stopped Michigan from a perfect season before... That's right. Just asked, Bo Schembechler. Do not and I say do not forget the History of these games....GoBlue
@Mark rapacki The Purdue Boilermakers shocked the college football world Saturday night by upsetting No. 2 Ohio State 49-20. The Buckeyes were predicted to run through the remaining Big Ten schedule and make it to the College Football Playoff, but now, the upset loss turns the projections on their head. I believe this happen in 2018.
