Despite me not wanting to 100% use this as a daily camera, I would totally use this on gimbal or rigged up for music videos.
The quality is great. The price is great. The lenses I used were great.

The FX30 has a 6K sensor down-sampled to 4K while the FX3 has a 4K sensor. In a head-to-head test, the FX30 footage came out crisper. I picked the FX30 over the FX3 because of the image quality and because I ain't trying to spend full frame money. I'd rather to put that towards other accessories. I love color grading SLog3 footage in Davinci Resolve. The 7artisans lens series is a low-light fix, especially with the T1.08.
Let’s not kid ourselves. I also have an fx30 and absolutely love it, but it’s not better than an fx3. Pixel size matters, sensor size matters, base iso matters, crop factor matters, etc etc.
I bought the fx30 because I’m too poor for an fx3, not because it’s better. Slapping a lens with a wider aperture on there doesn’t make it just as good as and definitely not better than an fx3.
When you colour grade your footage,what do you set your inputs and outputs to on your cst, please help me 😂

i tried it for a bit, super sharp. i prefer the softer canon look, but i loved the tally lights built in fan and webcam connectivity. solid video camera. also s-cinetone is better for low light, less noise and still 10bit. but slog 3 falls apart at 2500

I like the transparency; did you expose correctly? I've noticed exposing +1.5 or +2 stops really helps with the noise.
Fx30 you can view your own luts so you can expose for the look, people don’t need to expose to a value on a scale
*I LOVE The FX30. It's My Main Camera as I sold My a6400 to get this. For me it's all about the fact that it's a cinema camera and an Affordable one if that. The Fact that it's an APS-C camera that I use My Sigma and Sony 11mm & it works well for me. I'm learning S Log3 an grading still as I've used S Log 2 on Both my a6400 and ZV-1. Nice Video*
I just bought this camera and I honestly love it. The one thing I do not like is all that noise. Other than that the footage looks amazing
I find (at least using native ISO/ S-Log 3) amazingly clean images with minimal noise- easy to remove in post- or cover over with a bit of grain!
What lenses are you using? And are they FF or ASPC?

@@ryanbishop3586 I think if you use S-Log 3 and expose properly the FX 30 does great - up to ISO 3200 for sure. NO camera really does well in NO light (random quantum thermal noise etc) - and no 'real' big-boy cinema camera has a base ISO any higher than 3200 - most are lower!

The battery life is greatly improved in 4k would be intrested in your thoughts vs the R5 which also is a excellent camera imo.

9:15 Totally agree with the feature swamp of Sony codecs and image settings. Like, people think this is a plus to have more control, but how about.. just make the image it makes be good and stand by it, and be done with it, like every other revered camera system (Alexa)? Sony's options are like saying hey, we dont trust our own imaging science, here have a bunch of parameters you can mess with to potentially make it even worse.

Its not just you. I had so much noise in that camera, I sold it after a week and got the fx3. I sold the fx3 because it was so digital looking compared to my BM cameras. Im a BM fanboy but I would be interested in S1H mark 2 because the image in the s1h looks more organic.

If there is larger sensor available - the smaller one will always be labeled as a "bad one." You compare them, and bang ! Damage done! One day, they will come up with Super FF sensor, larger than today's FF sensor, and today's FF sensor will be considered "bad one." And there will be plethora of RUclips videos, mocking today's FF sensor. Don't get fooled, don't get discouraged. Just shoot, create content, show something - and don't care too much of the size of your sensor! That way of thinking will slow you down in your progress. Thank you

The fan takes away way too much battery life away, sony a7iv I can shoot close to 2hrs 4k24fps with fx30 1hr
A7iv can overheat for some with long form recording. Mine hasn’t overheated though
