He was a guitar monster then. He never got the recognition that the British counterparts did. I doubt any of them could play what Ted was doing back then.
I've seen Ted in '73 @ the Allen Park Civic Arena in Allen Park Michigan. He was wearing a loin cloth & not much more & he climbed his amp & jumped off while playing. He tore it up.
That's funny I seen him do that exact same stunt back in 1969 Too much. I seen him on the steps of the Detroit library I've always been a huge fan. He is a hell of a rock guitarist underrated I think. :) Peace

You must have good parents. Ted had a Problem during this time period with Parents dropping young children off at the shows. Once inside they would play tag and run all over the place instead of watching the show. One show that I went to was cut off at a 1/2 hour after repeated warnings to sit down.
The brits had no idea what ted was doing or how he was doing it...his playing is way more complex than most think. He can do more with a small Amp without a drummer or bass than you can imagine. His right hand is the sauce
Ol' Poopies Pants is a better guitarist with a higher-energy stage show than anyone else alive today. I shit my pants during a hangover in my 20's but it didn't improve my playing. I hope Ted's not making up the poopy pants story because it's awesome, but something tells me it's a tall tale.
@@markbassett3864 Were you REALLY at this show ? .....Amazing.....I had all the Amboy Dukes LPs in the 1970s ....I thought the stuff from Call of the Wild & Tooth Fang & Claw were more melodic that a lot of his later solo stuff though I enjoyed that too. The feedback he coaxed out of that Gibson Byrdland was extraordinary.....& this was decades before things like 'sustainer pickups' .
