I exclaim very loudly.....UHHHHHH THIS IS SO GOOD! When music can transcend and take you away from the occasional shit that is life, especially these days, that is truly a blessing. God bless!
I'm 13.5 billion years old and in all that time I have rarely heard such a hypnotic riff. Rock on Uncle Ted! And rock on to all my brothers and sisters in the Metal multiverse! \m/
🤘
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One of THE greatest ones to smoke to and enjoy! ❤
K
You R
This is a kick ass song.i'm 52 years old today kids these days don't know what real music is
❤
Same , born in 73 , and yes I agree BUT their is a younger generation that are realizing that and are stepping up . I have found tons of younger bands and solo artists just on RUclips alone.
You'd be surprised 🤘
Amen Brother
Roger that
I like how the song never gets dull for being over 8 minutes long.
Right! Gotta love our tunes of yesteryear that keep going and never disappoint. Ted is a classic and a real patriot too.
I won't be surprised if Kid Rock had a poster of Ted Nugent on his wall growing up!
Just wish this song was longer!!!!!!
The only drug this guy needed was antibiotics for the cat scratch fever!!!😅
So....... will R&R hall of fame EVER induct Uncle Ted?
This album was released in September 1975 & 49 years later
"Stranglehold" is still the baddest kick-ass rock song on the planet! This is real Rock & Roll!
Word
Pretty gnarly song man, for sure
YES
Absolutely 💯 kickass rock and roll. Great music never dies.
I have this album on vinyl
In my top 10 most badass songs ever recorded. His guitar work so underrated.
Don't' forget his KILLER rhythm section on bass and drums! Those cats are laying down the bedrock for him to do his aural psychedelic painting on TOP of that.
First heard this in 75. Never heard anything like it before. I wore out a Chevy Nova riding the backroads of Greene County Tennessee listening to this. Also drove my mom nuts with this cranked up in my room. I just couldn't understand how anyone could NOT like this. I still love it - I will love it till I die.
You will still love it in the afterlife..... Today's music won't be making the transition to heaven.
Fuck 👍 yezzz
Omg 75 so that makes this 46 years old wow
So THAT explains it. We just thought it was echoing through the mountains in Sullivan county! 😃
@@lauriewolfe5833 if only you could have seen it live you would know that music today is hoping they could make something that can last for the ages and cant
Been rocking with him since the early 70's. Well 62 almost STILL rocking. My grandkids say I'm crazy 🤣🌻💋

This song instantly kills Covid-19
Yeah. No vaccine needed. We have Ted Nugent.
Covid has no chance against the stranglehold. Agreed.
yeah but you'll catch cat scratch fever, but im fine with that.
@@Ty-dp7iv
Love it
Old School never dies ! Keeps the youngsters wondering what came before they were born. Explore youngsters. There is so much music, stories, and history I wish you knew about. Your life would be richer, and your perspective would be wider. God bless anyone who wants to explore. Instead of accepting what you’ve been told. 🙏✌️😎
I always wondered what this song was about and thought it may have been about some relationship breakup. But then I found out it was about how the industry attempted to keep him out. He's so badass.
yeah,we saw it on tv yesterday , on decades tv , he said same thing tellin the excs F u, its on im hot !!!! ,way cool !!!
@@terrydavis2325 Cool. Can u share that link, por favor, for the benefit of all. GOD BLESS 😎.
Isn’t that awesome how he prevailed !!! Damn the Torpedoes, Damn the Politics. Full steam ahead. Love U Ted.
“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs.
Hunter S.Thompson
I hit 92 likes....year i graduated
A recording of this song needs to go on the next intergalactic deep space probe..
Hell yeah!
Love him or hate him the man can play the guitar
I love him and he is one of the best !!!
Theodocious Atrocious has ALWAYS been brilliant, even back in his early days with the Amboy Dukes. Yeah, I'm that old. :)
100% truth
Love him
I got to see him 3 times in mid ‘70’s,he rocked every time. My husband(RIP😢) played this song at our wedding in ‘77,so I smile every time I hear this.
Hard to believe he did not make rolling stone magazines top 100 guitar players. Try to figure that one out.
❤😢😮not right❤
Only stvpid people listen to Rolling Stone magazines’ opinion.
Rolling Stone is a bunch of leftists.
I'm 39 years old and was born in the wrong generation. I love this kind of music. All my friends are listening to rap and hip hop music. Not me I am an old soul.
Good for you! I am 65 and this rocks!
Rock on young man
Awesome
You're too old to make this kind of comment
"old school " is the right school!!
why you think there still history books!
this when actually wrote music! ORIGINAL! LOVED TO LISTEN TO EVERY INSTRUMENT, EVERY BEAT,...
NEVER SAME ANY MORE! 😲😪
Say what you want about Ted the person, it is undeniable he is an extremely talented and underrated guitarist.
Super smart dude, too. Pro 2nd Amendment, conservative values...not like the wimpy woke libs that are ruining our country.
Ted the person is a GREAT human being
I’ll say this about him…. he is an incredibly generous, caring, talented, energetic, patriotic, freedom loving, fun and intelligent man.
He's also been sober every day of his life. That is an achievement!!
WTF is wrong with Ted, 'the person'?
EVERYTIME I HEAR THIS DRIVING I END UP WITH A SPEEDING TICKET !!!😂😂😂😂😂
Im 63 now, still the best music ever made, rock on, baby boomers!!!!
Exactamundo brother 💖
Exactly!
Don't forget Robin Trower BRIDGE OF SIGHS . 😊
I hear ya!! 💪💪
Same age same thought...rock on
One of the best riffs in the history of rock and roll
Go watch Ted on JRE playing this lol. I love that dude.
So agreed
I used to build sound systems for cars and trucks and this was my test song. This is a musical masterpiece.
With a very broad spectrum of audio tones it lets you know the limitations of the speakers!
If you can't be heard audibly from 5 city blocks man just don't embarrass your business or your self it's ridiculous right who does that pigeons seagulls no flying rats...
INTERESTING....!!
absolutely. i find it as a mids feeler.
This song makes my car run faster
It makes everything run faster!
1970 LT-1 Corvette coming out of a high speed sweep with powershift 3rd to 4th gear with the rock crusher 4-speed manual and redline in 4th.... passing a 911 Porsche.... sometimes you want to get higher...................light another...................
"Don't tell me you love me" is another great way to get a super speeder ticket.
Wango Tango gives my car an extra 90 horsepower.
Mine too.
This will get you a speeding ticket late at night on the freeway.
Hands down best song to play when you want to drive like an idiot.
Metallica Dyers Eve
True song get me hyped up.
Yep. this one and Crazy Train by ozzy will gets my foo heavy
Absolutely
I played this song to my parakeet and he turned into an American Bald Eagle with a mullet and cracked open a can of Budweiser 😳
Hilarious, my friend!! Literally laughing out loud!
Haha😂thanks for the laugh
That's as American as Apple pie 🥧 and Wal-Mart 💩
I was around 16 when this song came out and I bought the album. It is 2022 and I am still listening!
i was about 22 and still love it in 2022
I’m 16 in 2022 and I’m listening to it
Fun fact: Uncle Ted wrote this song when he was 16🙂
Fun fact. December 10, 1976, was a Friday. That was the day I turned 16 and got my driver's license after school. I got to go on a date and was allowed to take the family truck. Ted nugent music, a girl, beer. It was the start of many good times in the 70s
One of the best SONG INTROS Ever.....
💯
Right up there with Dire Straights, Money For Nothing.
@@KittKattKlub I love the drums at the beginning of the song
🎯😎🙌
One of the top 10 instrumentals as well right up there with some of if I do say so Edward van Halen & Pink Floyd stuff their instrumental artistry is untouched buy by God Uncle Ted is right there awesomeness for sure!!!
Used to play this before missions in Desert Storm to pump us up. Lotta memories from this song.

Lubbock Texas thanks u for your SERVICE
Hell yeah brother thank you for your service.
Also sorry for what has happened lately. What y'all had to do was not in vain. It was not for nothing. We need an entire overhaul of our system
Big respect from England...
Ever been to a Nugent concert? You won't hear for a week. But it's worth it!
Yes. I have seen Ted Nugent in concert 5 times in the 80's and 90's always awesome brutal kick ass concert, huh? What? Sorry my ears are still ringing.
If I am not mistaken he was credited for playing the loudest.
Yup and he rocked San Diego down back in the early 70s
I was going to Uncle Teddy's concert when Skid Row would open for him and ticket prices for the whole night were only $6.50 ... 1975 Angle Stadium, zztop, Uriah help, Eddie money. Blue oster cult, point blank, Johnny and Edgar winter and of course ( California Worthington & his dog spot) aka Bengal Tiger..
That was a $ 10.00 dollar event. Thats how us 65yr olds partied back in the '70's 🤪
I actually thought I lost my hearing and got tested by an audiologist.
Ted Nugent was my first concert! I was lucky enough to see Ted with Lynyrd Skynyrd, months before the tragic plane crash. Will always remember it!
Lucky!
Dude!
Mine too! KISS and The Nuge, it was AWESOME!
Holy shit that's freaking awesome!!
That's so awesome! Lucky!
Brings back teenage memories smoking hash under the black light in my bedroom listening to this on vinyl with my Pioneer amp cranked 10 pumping those JBL speakers.
Teenage memories? Hell, I did this last week and I'm 45. Smoking with good friends while "Stranglehold" plays in the background is a timeless activity.
@@MrCucamonga1 I'm 65 now and listening to it with my wireless Skaa cans on. Don't want to bother the other seniors in the condo. lol
Tooooo F"*:n' AWESOME 😎. Thank you!!! Stay safe!!!!
Love Ted and the Pioneer
Same noise , same dream , lol !!!!
Man, old people are so badass. I wish I could've been alive to see music like this in concert.

LOL, I like your outlook on life.
How lucky I was to've been a teenager in the '70s. Killer tunage.
That's how I feel. Starting with Zeppelin in 69! When I was 13! ( Their first american tour)
Absofuckinglutely!

Dam your lucky I wish I’ve could of been a teen then I was born in the wrong generation witch is 1993
@@mattheimer2588 My friends and I lived for going to concerts! So many kick ass bands would tour constantly. No matter how big the crowds were everybody was chill. We were hippies and I never saw anybody fight. It was all about the music!
