I wish so bad we could get tanks in that scale! The company should understand that today’s keepers are largely adults that want to do the best for their little pets. It’s extremely hard to accommodate a bubbler and heater in the Tanks currently on the market. Thank you for showing us what could and might be!
I’m currently working on getting some Sea-Monkey tank lids 3D printed that can easily accommodate a heater wire and airline tube :) I’ll hopefully be able to share more about it soon 👍
LOVE the bigger tank. LOVE the dominant illustrations and graphic design. Both are things I wish Transcience / Dragon-I would embrace … a larger tank and a bigger, bolder logo and characters on the packaging. Agree, John. It’s a complete and total direct ripoff of the Ocean-Zoo … but if Sea-Monkeys aren’t going to give their customers what they ask for, this is the consequence. Competition. I don’t normally buy knockoffs but, for the reasons listed above, I’m excited to add this to the collection. Thanks for tracking this foreign kit down and sharing it. Totally agree about the packaging! Even though the tank is a ripoff, they did manage to get so many other things right with this kit. It’s a shame it’s no longer in production but I’m glad I was still able to put this video together. Glad to hear you enjoyed it Tod :) now on to the Magiquarium video 🙌
You have been killing it with the videos lately! Love your style of editing! Also, you should try to sea how well daphnia can thrive in a sea monkey tank!
Where I am from we have magic fish (which is a ripoff of the killifish egg using brine shrimp) and American crayfish. But they all have too much egg and no food while instructing to feed milk or egg so I don’t see anyone could grow them 😢
The illustrations set the expectations of the consumer much better! It could have been a coincidence, but do you think they were shown as green and orange because those who ate algae would look green and those that ate the provided food would look more brown/orange? It could also just be a coincidence, of course- The screw to hold on the bottom piece feel reassuring to me, as it was something that made me feel anxious about the base Sea Monkey tanks- I always found myself feeling scared that it might fall off if it was bumped by mistake? I vaguely remember being given sea monkeys for my siblings and I to take care of, and being confused by what they would look like- I was expecting little translucent vaguely humanoid creatures, and felt let down by the odd appearance of the shrimp. If children were shown these illustrations instead, I think they would find the shrimp much more fascinating!
Oo you might be onto something about the colours there! And the base on the Sea-Monkey tank is very secure. I removed one recently and it was super difficult lol
the art on the box is amazing!! i love seeing how different brands market the sea monkeys. the art style on this box kind of reminds me of spore. great video as always. can’t wait for the next
Love the larger tank! I was surprised to see the lid was two pieces. I'm a little torn if I'd buy such a thing because I have a DIY half gallon tank I really like. If sea monkeys brand produced a larger tank with built in heating, air pump, and lights... well, that'd be really tempting.
I love brine shrimps, they’re so neat! I’m binging your videos and you’re making me want to get a kit. I’d like to gather knowledge on how to keep them happy and healthy, and your channel is a great resource. Thank you!
These are literally my favorite product review/unboxing videos. Brine shrimp are so cute and you always make sure to give good instructions for how to support a healthy colony. Excited to see everything in the future and see everything the world of instant pet husbandry has to offer.
I'm still binging your whole channel and this one is really interesting to me. I think I absolutely would buy this kit if presented with the option between this and the regular ocean zoo. My main qualm with brine shrimp kits is that they tend to be catered towards kids who will treat their new pets as disposable. Without proper heat and oxygen the brine shrimp die off at around the time kids lose interest and move on to the next new and shiny toy. I think I'd genuinely be willing to spend money on a desktop aquarium catered to brine shrimp housing, with a small bubbler, heater, and grow lights built in. A lot of tanks that are advertised as being complete tanks for bettas but are actually way too small COULD be slightly changed to be good tanks for brine shrimp
@@pico-cosmos Maybe one day! It's not hard to find someone who can manufacture dang near anything. I have the knowledge but nowhere near the resources or I'd set out on a grand adventure to do it myself. I think plenty of adults would love a nostalgic brine shrimp tank with the knowledge that it's an appropriate, comfortable environment for the shrimp.
I absolutely love watching your videos, have been watching them with my son who loves sea monkeys. It started as a nostalgia moment, and quickly grew into a desire to actually try a tank again as an adult. Thank you for all you do!
I remember seeing an ad in an argentina channel that somehow transmits to México, i was kind of interested since the tank looked a little bigger, love the marketing, if i was a kid and Saw that box i would cling to it so my parents would Buy it for me 😂😂, theres also an italian kit known as skifidol di mare that has really cool cartoonish designs, i think that one got cancelled cause the idea of them being alive creatures being boxed freaked some people out
Another great video, John, and I think that Argentinian 'Sea Monsters' tank and kit look amazing. I definitely think larger tanks are better and more humane to raise brine shrimp properly and to provide them with more space and variety. They are after all, living creatures and not toys, so the smaller kits always made me shudder a bit while these larger kits are the right direction to go. All the best as always. :)
Yeah I totally agree 👌 I feel like this tank size should really be the standard. Hopefully Sea-Monkeys comes out with a “Deluxe” kit one day with a larger tank and some extra accessories
Thanks again for sending me these Sea Monsters, Patricio! I had a great time making this video :D I’m going to keep this tank going to see if I can establish a full sized colony in there :)
Great Sea Monsters video. A relief 6 or 7 babies hatched of the many in the pouch. I larger tank is something I wanted to see, yes. Thanks for the updates and glad they were able to experience life after 8 years of being dormant.
Nice video. Yes, I would like to see larger tanks. I love the Sea-Monkeys Executive Super-Sized Suite. I am building some custom tanks that will be larger, because I believe it is better for seeing the Sea-Monkeys and provides more areas to swim.
Yeah it's cool that Transcience offers the ESSS, I just wish they would have a more interesting tank for that set. Something like the one in this video, or perhaps a larger Ocean Volcano style tank. Good luck with your DIY tank! Sounds like a cool project 👍
"It originally retailed for 350 argentine pesos, which was somewhere around 25 US dollars at the time." is a pretty crazy sentence given a single dollar is around 900 pesos nowadays. Either way I remember seeing this ad, but my cool mom (allegedly) never managed to find them in any toy store and I ended up getting a nice dinosaur for my birthday instead. All in all I loved the dinosaur and in retrospect I probably wouldn't have been able to keep any of the poor sea monsters given the ammount of eggs and how little extra information I'd have at that age.
If I had the chance to buy this tank (with or without the kit) I would. A larger tank is definitely fun and it's better for accommodating a water heater and air stone, which in comparison to a regular Ocean Zoo or a Magic Castle tank are too big and occupy a lot of the swimming space for the shrimp. If they come up with an official large Ocean Zoo I'd probably be one of the first people in line to buy it xD. Did you ever find out what was the food they came with? Great video, hope you have a great day 💜!
Yeah I totally agree! When I’m done with these videos I usually retire the tank, but I think I’m going to keep this one going. And nope! No idea what the food is 😅
Love your videos! ❤ Would love to see one that shows how you convert an existing colony from their old tank to a new set up as I'm still not sure the best way to do this despite reading lots on it.
The fact you said "the dogs looks kinda high" 😂 Also it's crazy how much they costed back then. $300+! I think I'll stick with the Dollar store kits 😅😅😅😅
The Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys is and always will be my #1 favorite brand, but I do love 💕 to see and collect all types of brine shrimp kits as well. My guess is that since the Sea Monsters people made a replica molding of the Sea-Monkey brand tank, they probably did the same thing with the Sea-Monkey double sided yellow spoon as well. I would love 💗 to see Transcience come out with an official tank like this! Thanks for another amazing video!!
I think you're definitely right about the spoon there - I'm sure they just copied the Sea-Monkeys one because it was easy 😅 Do you have any rare Sea-Monkey kits in your collection?
@@pico-cosmos It depends on your definition of rare. I do have the Robo Diver Tank. That one seems to be pretty desirable in the Sea Monkey community. I also have the Super Sleuth Tank. I think that one is really cool, and one of my favorites, but doesn’t seem to be talked about or mentioned much ? I’m not sure 🤔 why ? The tank that is on the top of my list is the Explor-A-Sub tank. I haven’t seen many come up for sale. To me that one is pretty rare!

Was definitely a surprise to see hatchlings! That second packet really did seem damp so I figured all of the eggs would be ruined. A pleasant surprise ☺️
I would definitely want a larger tank! It'd be nice for sustaining larger populations, and while the variety of little tanks are neat, it is a lot of trouble to get heating and an air line for all of them if you really want to use them all.. Thanks for the video!
Yeah I think that's what I liked the most about this tank - you can put accessories in there and it doesn't feel like they're taking up much space. Really hope to see Sea-Monkeys release something like this in the future 🤞
Hey bro I’m a fellow kiwi, love ya content. Just gotta say. Hand down favorite part about this RUclips channel is it all seems so kid friendly then out of no where “featuring this dog that looked really high”
The Mars Tank is my favorite of all time, but I do plan to set up a 1 gallon glass tank with a heater, airstone, black sand, and a small light. First, I want to see how long I can keep my Mars Tank going, and if It is still going strong after a year, I may go ahead and build the 1 gallon and transfer a couple pairs of adults to see what kind of colony they can create. Interesting that you stopped feeding them. I have a good amount of green in my Mars Tank, so I am going to cut back on feeding them for a while to see if their stomachs turn green like yours.
The Mars tank is definitely my favourite themed one too! Any idea what shape you're going to go with for your 1 gallon tank? Yeah I basically stopped feeding them because I only had 6 and there was so much algae I figured additional food wasn't necessary. If I had 20+ I would've probably still fed them a little
@@pico-cosmos I would go for a 1 gallon cube, or a 1 gallon rectangle. As you stated, the only downside to the Mars tank is the curved plastic which distorts the view. A tank with flat walls will make a better view and gives more space for the Sea-Monkeys to swim. I like the depth of the 1 gallon cube for this purpose. Small enough to fit almost anywhere, easily maintainable, and yet big enough to have a real aquarium feel in regards to the size of the pets.
This is so cool, i love the bigger size and am impressed the sea monsters survived 8 years in a damp pouch. Tho with so many eggs, if the kit was new i forsee too many hatching, causing the tank to become crowded, causing death, and with so many decaying bodies, could mess up the water quality edit: oh you mention this at the end lmao, why i should finish videos b4 commenting
the dog!!🤣🤣but i liked the oversized tank, it is really cool. And i just bought triops because my country does not sell sea monkeys. it is way harder though.
I think you can cach them with the tube. Hold one side shut with your finger, put the other side in the water above a 'sea-monkey' and realise the finger so water with the creature goes in, you hold your finger again and can liift the little guy/girl out.
You know those 2 colors on the box kinda make sense, especially since you turned them red at one point and the green algea they’d eat turning them green
Have you ever thought about putting Brine Shrimp into an actual tank with a substrate, plants, and aqua scapeing? Maybe even with small fish, snails, and other animals as like a self sustaining ecosystem?
I have yeah.. but it’s complicated :/ Since they’re saltwater animals plants don’t really work too well, perhaps some kinda of macroalgae could work? I need to experiment more. I think any fish would probably eat the Brine Shrimp 😅 check out my video review for the Sea-Monkeys Big Show tank! I put snails in that one :)
@@pico-cosmos Fish probably would but that is the circle of life there. Some shrimp will live obviously, especially with little nooks and crannies to hide in. They can't eat everything.
I definitely would have bought it as my first kit fs if it was readily available! At the end of the day, I think that even though they are so small, they still deserve more adequate space to live in. I don't think most people enjoy the idea of living in a box tbh
Daang, I wish that sea monkeys sold bigger tanks like that! Also at 4:50 , I noticed that off brand sea monkey kits use the same mold for that double sided spoon :O I saw it in a couple of Korean sea monkey kits, which I think you should check out if you haven’t yet!
I do have one Sea-Monkey knockoff kit from AliExpress, it has Korean pouches with Chinese packaging.. super weird combo lol. I’ll make a video about it at some point 👍
I'd kind of love a tank of this size 'officially'. Just... minus the thousands of eggs. Your channel's making me so tempted to get some little guys of my own, but I'm just nervous about helping them thrive in the cold climate of England :x
Hello! Just started a new seamonkeys kit. The eggs were green, I think that means that the eggs were too wet so I used the eggs from a another seamonkeys kit I had. My little sister is so excited to see them grow!
They need more large tank designs! The executive set is just kinda... meh, it's a classic fish bowl. I'm currently setting up a DIY half-gallon tank using a tank that's marketed for betta fish. Are you planning any videos with tips for larger tanks? 👀Currently relying on /r/seamonkeys for advice!
i would love some larger tanks. sorry to say it but south park and their sea-men episode with cartman with that 30 gallon tank of sea monkey's sparked a need to have this huge sea monkey world tank
John, I just want to thank you for your info on this channel. I’ve been wanting to grow Sea Monkeys for years, but never could get them to live over a couple of days. I even wondered if they were a scam, until I found your channel. Now my newly hatched Sea Monkeys are thriving much more (and longer) than ever, and I bet they’ll be around longer than my past hatchlings! Also, if it’s okay, I need advice: in the tank are white floating dots. One website said these can kill the Sea Monkeys and need to be taken out immediately. I’ve fished a few out (with great difficulty!) and apparently I need ‘Sea Medic’, but they’re out of stock. My Sea Monkeys haven’t reached Day 5 to feed them yet, and I’m really worried they’ll suffocate. Any advice? Also, apologies for asking about Sea Monkeys under a video about Sea Monsters!
Glad to hear my videos are helping :) and I would’ve worry about the white dots - as long as your baby Sea-Monkeys look healthy that’s all that matters. Remember to only feed them a TINY amount the first time, they really don’t need much at all
Love the tank size. I would love to get 1. What do u think about using other tanks for raising sea monkeys? I recently purchased 1 of those stackable cube tanks to try it.
You can use any tank you like really :) I think the regular Sea-Monkey ones are great, my only real issue with them is that they're so small. The stackable cube should work well, I think I've seen someone in the Sea-Monkey clubhouse facebook group use one of those 👍
Hey so I’ve got some sea monkeys and they’ve been thriving for about 1 month and a half and I’ve noticed that their tank had accumulated a lot of waste on the bottom, do I ever have to clean out the tank or should I leave it?
Any pet store in the world will have tanks in whatever size you like from Betta habitats to globes, salt and brine shrimp eggs. They will also have things like heaters, air pumps and any other thing you may desire. Personally, I'd rather keep Guppies and feed the sea monkeys to them, but to each his own.
I think the product is really good, I just think it's a shame that it's not available in several languages. I'm curious what other products are out there. And now for the update with my Artemia, the first attempt failed for the most part, but I made the next approach a few days later and they are growing really well, I still made approach number three and four, because I put them in an even larger tank want to do where there is sand inside 👍🏽. I would also like to try to buy live algae and then breed them so that I can feed the artemia with them. I hope you're doing well, because you don't post any videos, I have to check on tiktok to see if you've posted anything there
I really like brine shrimp I think they are fun and the sea monkeys are fun I like your video and idea came to mind maybe you can picture frame the sea monster picture

Try to discuss again about freshwater fairy shrimp 🙂
I've thought about bigger tanks for brine shrimp. I might give it a try. I have an old hexagonal beta tank I might see if I can get a colony going in
Some new, larger tanks would be amazing! Especially here in the UK!
5am and watching this. man
the dog!!🤣🤣but i liked the oversized tank, it is really cool. And i just bought triops because my country does not sell sea monkeys. it is way harder though.
Oh nice! I’ll definitely be trying them out later this year. Which Triops kit did you get?
@@pico-cosmos i got a Triops World kit from the company kosmos. The eggs are really tiny so be carefull!
I think you can cach them with the tube. Hold one side shut with your finger, put the other side in the water above a 'sea-monkey' and realise the finger so water with the creature goes in, you hold your finger again and can liift the little guy/girl out.
Ah that’s a good point! Never thought of that 👌
You know those 2 colors on the box kinda make sense, especially since you turned them red at one point and the green algea they’d eat turning them green
Haha that’s a good point! I think a lot of Brine Shrimp in nature are quite red too from eating red algae
@@pico-cosmos despite the overload of eggs they knew their stuff
If Transcience made this tank, I would buy it! I like how it's easier and more room for the heater and bubbles.
I really wish they would offer some larger tank options 😑 all we can do is hope I guess 🤞
@@pico-cosmos
Fish probably would but that is the circle of life there. Some shrimp will live obviously, especially with little nooks and crannies to hide in. They can't eat everything.
¡Muchoicimas Gracias Patricio! 😃👍
That dog is fried lmfao 😂
Massive tank. I need it so bad
I love this tank sm. The more I use it the more it grows on me
Huh. An interesting kit. That’s to be sure
I definitely would have bought it as my first kit fs if it was readily available! At the end of the day, I think that even though they are so small, they still deserve more adequate space to live in. I don't think most people enjoy the idea of living in a box tbh
The box art is pretty cool.
I really like it too, some of the best I’ve seen for a brine shrimp product 👌
I've been hoping for a bigger tank ever since I got my first bunch of sea-monkeys when I was 8, hopefully we see an offical bigger kit soon
Hi! Would you ever make a discord server for sea monkeys?
That's cool 6 made it they are cute 😍
Daang, I wish that sea monkeys sold bigger tanks like that!
Also at 4:50 , I noticed that off brand sea monkey kits use the same mold for that double sided spoon :O I saw it in a couple of Korean sea monkey kits, which I think you should check out if you haven’t yet!
I do have one Sea-Monkey knockoff kit from AliExpress, it has Korean pouches with Chinese packaging.. super weird combo lol. I’ll make a video about it at some point 👍
the kit looks great at that size.
Totally agree! I loved this larger tank
I'd kind of love a tank of this size 'officially'. Just... minus the thousands of eggs.
Your channel's making me so tempted to get some little guys of my own, but I'm just nervous about helping them thrive in the cold climate of England :x
Just get the small USB heater and you’ll be sweet 👌 it’s cheap and only 10w so it doesn’t use much power
@@pico-cosmos Tiny heater will save the day!
Hello! Just started a new seamonkeys kit. The eggs were green, I think that means that the eggs were too wet so I used the eggs from a another seamonkeys kit I had. My little sister is so excited to see them grow!
I'd buy it, I really like the larger size.
I like the bigger tack capacity.
I will make a full DIY tank tutorial at some point 👍
i would love some larger tanks. sorry to say it but south park and their sea-men episode with cartman with that 30 gallon tank of sea monkey's sparked a need to have this huge sea monkey world tank
Haha that’s so true! I still need to make a large tank myself, my biggest one is only 2 litres at the moment
This is so epic ❤❤
Build a aquarium with microfauna, I have one aquarium with detritus worm, bladder snail, clam and duck weed, no filter, they are thriving very well
Duck weed -> snail -> poop -> detritus worm -> poop -> ammonia -> nitrite -> nitrate -> duck weed
I give some fish food for the snails
Will you ever make a video regarding triops???
Yup! Definitely planning on it :)
This looks cool
No it doesn’t
@@adamsharar8166 then why did you watch this lol
@@clapzyplayz3375 have you heard of “sarcasm”
@@adamsharar8166 thats not how sarcasm works lol
@@jasondevelopz thank you
John, I just want to thank you for your info on this channel.
Remember to only feed them a TINY amount the first time, they really don’t need much at all
When will there be a new video
You need to try Aqua Dragons too. I have soo many Dragons, hatch rate is realy good
Definitely will be trying them out! How many of yours survived to adulthood?
Maybe 40 Dragons. They are many.
Im obsessed with small creatures
Nice!
Thanks! :D
This is cool
You can just leave it :) the gunk doesn’t bother them and it’s a good place for algae to naturally grow 👍
@@pico-cosmos thank you! :D
I would definitely want a bigger one like a liter but have a flat round shape.
I hope you're doing well, because you don't post any videos, I have to check on tiktok to see if you've posted anything there
Will be posting more again soon 👍
I like your new profile banner and pic I
Love the hand drawn sea monkey! Who drew it?
Larger tank for sure!
💯!
As a deaf person I really appreciate your Brian trump content 😃
😂😂😂😂😂
Also I do love this kit
Love your videos 🇸🇦 ❤
I got sea monkeys again but they haven’t hatch in the time I thing it would I do have a heat pad
How long ago did you put in packet #2?
@@pico-cosmos same day as packet one for spring water
@@pico-cosmosso two days ago
You think you can review Aqua Dragons next please
Probably later this year!
My opinion this one sea dragon and sea monkeys mixed together work the best and any other breeds you might have available breeding frenzy
Theres allready one swimming around when youre talking about putting the air pump in lol
I think it's just salty debris from those old packets
At 8:34 you can see something in the bottom right bubble go up the side
I really like brine shrimp I think they are fun and the sea monkeys are fun I like your video and idea came to mind maybe you can picture frame the sea monster picture
Larger tanks - YES
Can you do a £1 well on vintage I'll buy it of aqua dragons volcano or something you recommend love he vids
