Well a ton of cards can make you gain life in varying levels of power. Only this card can make you discard your entire hand for one Black at Instant speed.
Coughs arrogantly there is a creature that gives you a instant win condition if you have 40 or more hp(felidar sovereign) if you combine the health gain spell with a spell multiplier (e.g howl of the hoard) that allows you to essentially do that 7 hp gain spell allowing you to win if you have more than 19 hp and if that is the decks gimmick it should be abke to win with idk but it has use
The little “borborygmos for example” with borborygmos enraged showing onscreen as a reference to the iconinic pithing needle targeting “borborygmos” made me laugh.
I may have a hand that can do it better: One with Nothing, Dark Ritual, Rain of Filth, Swamp, Tormod's Crypt, Demonic Consolation, Mishra's Bauble This requires 2 less mana, allows you to lose at the start of an opponents turn, and does exactly what the original hand did. Here's how: Play Swamp, cast Rain of Filth, sacrifice the Swamp to float 1, cast Dark Ritual, Mishra's Bauble, and Tormod's Crypt, sacrifice the Bauble, cast Demonic Consulation, then One with Nothing, and sacrifice Tormod's Crypt. Pass and draw from an empty library on their turn.
No, you won't: Sacrificing the crypt is an activation cost. You activate the crypt by tapping and sacrificing it. The crypt goes into your graveyard. The ability goes on the stack, with your crypt in your graveyard. The ability resolves, exiling your graveyard, including your own crypt.
It's December 23rd, 2023 and Im slowly doing this now with the ORIGINAL Kamigawa foils. Yeah, it sucks with the Mystery Booster foil reprints but the ORIGINALS? Hopefully sonewhere down the road, a new mechanic will draw attention back to this card. Remember Lion's Eye Diamind from the Mirage set?
@Red Trout I wasn't saying that combo in specific was great, just that you can always find a use for a card in a specific deck. If you are already using a lich's mastery based deck then angel's mercy can be a good addition to your deck. I'm not saying build a deck around that combo. Pretty much every card has a great use in one deck or another. That's all I'm saying.
Nah I remember absolutely loving feed the clan It gave you like 4 health or something but if you had a four or greater toughness creature you gained ten and I thought it was the best thing ever
??? i did not pay any attention to instants...creature cards!!! Angel of Dawn, Indestructible golem!!! Avatar of Woe...this cards are amazing and fun if you can make them work. Angels Mercy is a card for nerds, who dont even check you need to defeat your opponent^^ healer are garbage XD
As a 10 year Yu-Gi-Oh veteran, who only recently started playing magic, my first thought when I saw this card was an infernity and darkworld players wet dream
@@Rose_Tinted1 No, it wouldn't. There's a card, full salvo, that does this, but also burns the opponent. Cheerful coffin allows you to discard 3 for free, and if you simply want to discard your hand, card destruction allows you to do so while also drawing a new hand. Infernity can clear their hand by themselves, they don't need a card like this, and probably wouldn't play it. The only way DW would play it is if this card also triggers their second effects, otherwise, card destruction, DWD, Dragged, their field spell, and dangers all give them enough ways to discard whatever they want, while also refilling their hands.
LMAO, yeah ... Card Destruction exists though. So they'd probably say that card exists vs make a new one with this effect. It would be great, though. Extra fodder.
6:19 " It explicitly says 'I go against everything you value in this game' " This really feels like like the finishing line a villain of an MTG anime would say as he plays this card, and somehow doing some crazy madness shenanigans and winning on the spot.
@@Bluecho4 There is a really good manga thats backed by WOTC. "Destroy All of Humanity. It Can't Be Regenerated." Takes place in the 90s, its really cool!
That line is so stupid lmao, that’s like saying a card that’s one black mana ‘loose half your life’ is good because it goes against what you value in the game lmao
I'm a slay the spire player, never played magic. The card can be okay with good discard synergies but seems like there is not many cards the card can synergize with
You could cast it and Sudden substitution with split second to swap control of the spell and make it so your enemy discards hand, and then if you have something like raiders wake, they take 2 dmg for each card they discard
...I don't think there are any truly bad cards in Magic the Gathering. It's just some are so situational or the benefit is so small that there's too much that's better
@@Mercy4Hire it's all starting to come back. The only really bad cards are ones that have been outclassed by power creep based replacements that are cheaper, or whose win conditions/ability is so niche or so easily countered or that opens up easy to exploit weaknesses for your opponent to exploit.
I really love how just looking at this card makes me feel. The name, the illustration, the flavor text and the fact that it's a rare. I would feel much like the dude in the illustration if opened it in a booster
It looks like it's for a dredge deck (black/green). Dredge plays most all its cards from the graveyard so that card starts up your dredge engine for one black. To be fair, I haven't played magic in a looooong time so maybe dredge isn't a thing anymore, but it looks like that's what that card is for.
Dredge hasn't been around for a long time, but you're right. It's meant to set up either dredge or necromancy. I had a deck that would have been supercharged by one with nothing. The idea: Mono black. Turn 1, I would draw, then discard. It's a waste of a turn, but I would discard a powerful eldrazi, like It That Betrays. Next turn, I'd use a dark ritual to cast necromancy. By resurrecting It That Betrays on turn 2, I lock my opponent down completely. They have 1 turn to stop my creature or they lose. Everything on the battlefield that was theirs becomes mine, and all because I played a 12 mana cost creature for 3 mana.

So, I love this card. I first started playing magic years and years ago at the end of the onslaught block. Played for a bit but none of my friends were really interested so I never invested much money or time into it as a hobby until highschool. Saviors had just came out when a bunch of us started getting into magic and we all bought some packs one day. Mind you I hadn't really bought that many cards up to this point, probably less then 20, and I pulled this card. Everyone else's first impression of this card was, "Why?, Why would you ever play this card?" My first impression was "How do you play this card". The card was just so interesting and different from every other card I had ever seen that I instantly fell in love with it, and just the idea of "How do I make wacky shit work", and I have been a johny ever since. This card might have had the single biggest influence on me in terms of what decks I like to play, how I play the game, and how I approach deck building. Now it is entirely possible I would have ended up in the same or a similar place without this card, but it still holds a special place in my heart as one of the biggest inspirations to me personally as a player.
@Unknown Entity Yes but the same logic of asking how before why is how we get the destruction of the nuke, it is how we get globe warming, it is how we get cults formed, it is how we make rash decisions that only help us in the short term, because we do not think of the long term impact of things. Asking how before we ask why will invarably cause things we do not wish to happen, because we never ask why we are doing these things. Why are we invading this country, why are we following this guy, why am i doing what i am doing. These are all valid and important questions to ask your self, but is so often ignored because we are to focus on the how. We need a balance of asking how and asking why, rather than only asking one thing or the other.
So, a Buddhist monk finds himself on a pilgrimage in The United States to become more affiliated with the innate mysticism that influences the modern world. He decides to start in America's intellectual capital, New York City, mind open and ready to learn. He got plenty of strange looks from the cynical locals, and had his picture taken by many tourists wondering if it was "just another day in New York" as he walked through the city's labyrinthine streets. He eventually got hungry in Time's Square, and decided that it would be appropriate to patronize one of its many stands and food vendors. The Buddhist Monk walks up to a hot dog stand, looks to the vendor, and says "Make me one with everything."
the hot dog vendor says, "that'll be $2.50." the monk hands him a five dollar bill. the hot dog man says, "thanks have a nice day." the buddhist monk says, "where's my change?" the hot dog man says, "change must come from within."
I looked for a one with nothing for a Blue-Green-Black deck I had. For every creature in my grave yard, over half of my monsters gained that, +X/+X. Being able to just scrap a handful of creatures, would have instantly boosted the abilities and spells I was using, as well as made my powerhouses, even more powerful.
Brian Halphin on top of that having monsters in your graveyard whike playing black usually means summoning them from the graveyard at a discounted cost and gaining the zombie attribute which can be beneficial especially with a lilianna on the field.
IllogicalBear you'd be better off with a card that discards from your library, that way you'd still be able to power up your creatures without sacrificing your hand.
Nathan Froese Self mill is always a dangerous game. Discarding from hand, while reducing options, ensures you know what is going into your graveyard and when.
I love that this video is currently your second-most popular, only behind The Black Lotus. That and the number of comments here that have been posted since well after the was released really highlight the main point: This card is constantly intriguing and is always on everyone's mind.
5:16 Just to add a little more context, Owling Mine typically included Sudden Impact as a finisher, and One with Nothing was a panic button against it, and you probably had it in your hand because you were drawing 2-3 extra cards a turn. The 4 life a turn from the owl was easier to handle in other ways.
He put Break Through The Line in a section on forgettable cards when I literally built a whole deck around using it on small creatures and fire-breathing them to deal lots of damage and then flinging them to deal like, 18 damage in one turn...
one with nothing is a fixed Black Lotus. they tried to fix Lotus by making you discard your hand with Lions eye diamond, but it was still too good, so they increased the mana cost by 3B
With the recent recursion of graveyard recursion decks, this card is good because most graveyard decks are based on recurring high CMC cards for a low cost. The Whip of Erebos is a good example of this.
I bought One With Nothing from Card Kingdom because of this video. I have made it one of my goals to see how I can break the magic mold by making a deck that is 100% terrible, but can still compete. Thank you for giving me a challenge.
Welcome to my lifestyle. Go wacky or walk home. I want to see my opponent experiencing temporary madness while they watch me do the weirdest thing they've ever seen anyone do in the game before I blow their mind with crystal clear insanity or bizarre play-styles. I never even care if i win. I simply want to dunk on ppl and scream in their face, if I happen to win, cool. I made perhaps the first Warcry Barbarian on battlenet and the comic shop erupted in endless laughter when i dueled my friend and literally blew his speakers out from screaming rapidly while stunning his character. He scrambled to turn the volume down but it was too late and then he DIED. HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH It was glorious and I live for these moments. Tbh, I'm the most legendary among my friends because i always pull this shit. My brother is often top competitor and another friend of mine buts heads with him but ppl remember my shit because I literally spend countless hours secretly building something absurd to spring on all of them at exactly the right moment. They don't see it coming because I'm actually just clowning these games that I can master without effort but I just like to make ppl smile and laugh way more than win. Its not about winning, its about looking amazing no matter what you are doing. Keep the path, force them to feel the weird!
I would go for a commander deck seeing as your commander would be safe from the discard effect and could either use the newly discarded hand or draw into things that could, and yes I know this comment is 10 months old I’m mostly taking to myself.
@@khurgar8120 But life is a resource, too. You're discarding your hand at the expense of 0 mana and 3 life. Or you could spend 1 mana and 0 life to use OwN.
An old gem from Gatherer: Goes well with a new card from Gatecrash: Enter the Infinite (Draw your whole deck, put one card back, no max hand size). So what you do is cast Enter the Infinite. Next turn do the following: 1) Draw last card 2) Tap 7 lands, cast Jokulhaups 3) Cast Tormod's Crypt 4) Cast One with Nothing 5) Sac the crypt targeting yourself (note that it will be in the graveyard and exile itself) Result: No cards in hand, library, graveyard or in play. You have become completely one with nothing. Imagine the looks on your opponent's faces! Then reality sinks in, and they realize that they have to keep playing, and they have nothing left in play either...
So they now should just make a card with: "When this card is in exile and you don't have any cards in your hand, library, graveyard and battlefield, you win the game."
Zach Chaffee Except that Sam creates original, creative and valuable videos. Sam's channel is like a good book while a lot of other channels are... a tabloid.
Erik Cobra Right. Other MTG channels are guilty of the same thing, so I don't wanna single him out now, but stuff like worst cards ever is just this terrible low level clickbait stuff like you see in online ads on porn sites. So I very much appreciate original works of art like Sam's. There are little creators out there who are as original, PROFessional and creative.
Momo Mikoshiba Worst cards ever isn't even the worst offender. His spoiler videos, deck techs, commander spotlights. All he does is look at mythicspoiler, a random deck, or edhrec and make a video about it. It's almost 0 effort.
I see wedge as less of an entertainer and more of a magic news source. His goal isn't to create new amazing content but to keep you up to date on what is happening in the world of mtg. Hence the name of his channel, the Mana SOURCE.
In response to you responding and surrendering, I put me surrendering on the stack. The game ends before you even join. Thus there is no game, and I am one with nothing.
With the amount of cards/interactions/combos that are possible in Magic, you can't really call anything a 'bad' card. There could be a spell that costs 30 mana and does literally nothing, and some crazy deck out there is gonna OTK you with it.
Textless creatures with a CMC of 3/4 will be bad if their stats aren't stellar. He showed it in the video, a 3/2 for 3 is just bad. Noone wants to play that. It will never see play.
I was playing against a burn deck once that was utterly destroying me. I then played a card that caused him to flip cards from his deck until he reached a creature, then I came in control of it. It was a full burn deck not a single creature... I killed his ENTIRE deck with one card and won the game.
man i now value bad cards more than anything. To be honest though, how come there is no synergy with this? I literally cannot believe there isn't an artifact or enchantment, or creature even that doesn't do any sort of direct damage towards players or creatures everytime you discard cards. Seems unreal to me.
Ancestral amnesia or three with nothing: discard 3 cards Probably a white card lol, it's honestly better than Healing Salve because it works in reanimator or dredge etc
I don't think it's fair to compare most cards to something that's restricted in vintage. That's like saying "dude, why can't these lame ass draw spells/1 mana cantrips be as good as ancestral recall?" Now, comparing it to say... putrid imp would be something worth considering. Though anyone that has played putrid imp in the appropriate deck knows it can do some prettttty busted stuff and you could argue that R&D has since learned its lesson and one with nothing is the "fixed" putrid imp.
AgaresOaks it's totally fair to compare it. Formats are a "player" invention, for kitchen table-type and in general it is totally alright to compare every card to every other.
Kitchen tables are just flowing with all those $100+ reserve list cards. If you're insistent on that point I'd like to note for kitchen tables it's important for budget versions of cards to exist and that $2 is a much more reasonable price point than $100. You could see why I would encourge comparing it to a 25 cent card instead.
literally there are so many better ways to do everything one with nothing does. i think the only thing one with nothing has is that it is an instant. so until we find a reason to instant speed discard hand in some way where led cant then one with nothing will continue to be bad in every deck
I just found your channel and boy am i glad! Your taste in background music, the skillfull edit of your videos and to showcase some of the cards and the artists is great! i'm glad i found this channel and i wont leave soon! Keep going man, your doing great!
I’ve got an okay combo, Opening hand: swamp, dark ritual, exhume, and your favorite fatty. T1: swamp dark ritual, let it resolve then cast exhume, while exhume is on the stack, cast one with nothing, putting the fatty into the graveyard, and then into play
This channel has probably the best editing skills on RUclips. Everytime i watch one of your videos it just leaves my mouth wide open. I wonder why the hell does this channel does not have more than 150k subs. Your videos are AMAZING and I always look forward to watching them. I hope you post your videos more oftenly and thank you for getting me into magic
This card is kinda like scornful egotist, a bad card that actually good. Egotist's cost of 8 is great with homarid spawning bed, giving you 8 1/1s on turn 4. Also it was kind of a bluff card in drafts, since noone knew what it was due to morph, and some play around it, even though its a 1/1. By itself it isn't that great, but in a deck centered around it it can do hilarious things.
I think it would have been awesome if morph cards face down had an effect when it dies face down. It would definitely play mind games as they don't know which creature they should destroy.
Scornful Egotist at least had a purpose - fueling in-block cards like Rush of Knowledge and Torrent of Fire. Onslaught Block had a lot of "CMC matters" cards that he was meant to fuel - drop him as a morph, throw a spell, morph him face-up for one mana for huge effect. Not at all efficient by modern Magic standards, but it was a thing and you'd see some people run him back then for that reason.
Here's another way I think this could actually be played; So I've come across a card in the Unglued set that cracked me up but also left me wondering. This card is "The Cheese Stands Alone" and it goes like this "If you control no cards in play other than The Cheese Stands Alone and have no cards in your hand, you win the game." As it is an enchantment and does literally nothing else, most would just chuckle at for a bit and wonder how this would ever actually be used. WELL, here you go. If you were somehow be able to get both of these cards in your hand at the same time, whilst having no other cards on the table, it would be an instant win. This would of course still be quite ridiculous as T.C.S.A has a mana cost of 6, which would mean that you'd have to go AT LEAST 6 rounds without putting in anything, only in the hope of getting both of these cards. So I figure you'd probably would also have to have a sacrificing system in place, to get rid of your stuff and ideally make you some extra mana in the progress. So there you go.
Done it once with a Razia's Purification and two creature with sacrifice effects. Sure most games you lose horribly but on the rare chance you can stall long enough to board clear and empty your hand it's quite memorable.
I could see it working with a few other cards. Wrath of God (or equivalent), Flashfires, and some non-land source of a single red and a single black mana, and, obviously, One with Nothing. Wrath of God buries all creatures on the field, Flashfires destroys all plains, One with Nothing gets rid of your hand. You just need to find a way to play a Black card and a Red card in an otherwise white deck.
@@dusklunistheumbreon OG Dual lands and checklands count as basic land types, and you can get them with fetchlands. Armageddon is better though, it's white and destroys all lands. That said, I think the simplest combo is with Decree of Annihilation or Kaervek's Spite. There is also a tournament legal clone of The Cheese Stands Alone called Barren Glory. Then of course your opponent plays Rainbow Vale, blocking your Barren Glory with a card that seems almost as useless as One With Nothing.
@@BaddeJimme I love all these ideas here in the comments :D I love weird win conditions (just started thinking about a self-mill deck with the new Jace, wielder of mysteries).
I come back and watch this video once a year or so, I love the artistic value in it and how the whole video is put together. I haven't even played magic for literally 20 years but I still love this video, it just FEELS good to watch
I recently discovered your videos and they're so impressively well made. But man, pulling off a Willhem Scream was absolutely wonderful. 10/10 would blast-snort again
You're absolutely right about how shitty cards inspire players to try and build viable decks around them. When I first discovered Lich (Enchantment), it completely changed the way I look at the game. I thought it was unplayable when I first saw it, but now I use it to one shot everyone in a multiplayer game... and having 0 life has it's advantages, you know ; )
Rhystic Studies with lich and other similar cards. You pay life usually via necropotence to pull up your library, then cast all the dark rituals and repay in kind
@@johnroush1099 no, but once it hits the table, contrary to One with nothing which can be counterspelled, very few things can stop you from discarding your hand since it is a cost. Also, you get 3 mana for it.
This is my favourite video on youtube. Goddamn. The style is just incredible and I keep coming back to it. It's almost entirely aesthetic but I'm totally cool with that.
I built a one with nothing deck for casual play. Using necro impotence, and a dark ritual in my opening hand, you draw down to 1/2 a life before your opponents endstep and then play the combo in the video on turn 2. Its absolutely awe inspiring result of being able to exile your entire deck, leaving you with 1/2 a life. Using London mulligans and serum powder - its actually super consistent.
how dare you suggest the afformentioned cards are medeoker! imagine, break through the line on the field. Play an adaptive snapjaw and give it haste. then play canyon minotaur evolving the snapjaw and getting in for three unlockable damage. for only twelve mana!??
When I saw One With Nothing, my very first thought was "oh, you mean madness vampires?", or even sultai reanimate, or using Feldon of The Third Path for some really fun Artifact reanimator.
I actually played one with nothing as four of in a sideboard when we played team magic. it was for our teams black white agro deck. the card allowed you to be competitive against a deck in that format that played like 12 howling mine effects and stuff that dealt damage to you based on handsize. played on turn 3 in response to an instant that dealt damage equal to the number of cards in your hand it was a full blowout.
As a Yugioh player, I like to look at other TCG cards and image what it'd be like if YGO had it This card would be absolutly insanity for most modern decks and it'd reach infamous status alongside Pot of Greed
Thank you so much for this video. Though I don't play magic much (I would love to but I never seem to have the time or money) I played tons of yugioh years ago. I love all the crazy "crappy" cards that everyone would say are bad. I would build decks around stupid cards, but by doing so it made me a far better player. I learned how to use every card in my deck in limitless ways. Yugioh players get so set in having otk's and rigid ways to play cards, but when you mess that up by playing some random card they are unable to adapt and work around it.
So... Magic the Gathering: Arena is free... BUT it's a Free-To-Sell-Your-Time-And-Soul-Instead-Of-Paying-Money game. Or a kind of pay to win game that you COULD grind to get everything you need... or just pay money. I don't recommend it because it's too much of a time sink.
Making blatantly bad cards moves new players in the right direction of realizing that it is up to them to switch them out of their deck. Fact. And if experienced players can use a bad card in inventive ways that is just a double punch. Sometimes you can learn more from pulling a stupidly bad card because it makes you think. Most people just go online and buy decks, but there are some people out there who actually play the game like it was designed.
The oponent cast something "discard 3 cards" MC: think u missed my untapped land anda Felt into my trap ONE WITH NOTHING and now I discard my entire hand, your spell os useless now Other characthers : shocked in surprise
this is the very video that made me discover your channel. I stumbled upon your latests ones and went back here. This video is great, but man, your latest stuff is amazing ! i am impressed at how much you evolved and gained skills over the years. Congrats, i'll keep watching you
At the very least, we need a entire set, full of 'bad' cards. Such as 'One with Nothing' or 'Tibalt the Fiend Blooded'. This should be a completely valid set, with true ways to win, to counter each other. But the cards, will make anyone, new or old, say 'What the fuck?' It'd be, extremly, extremly interesting. (And I want a reprinted Tibalt, cause he's amazing)
Honestly? I don't really care about outright winning. I love finding unusual or off the wall approaches to a game that, even if they don't win, definitely give opponents a fright or two on the way to the victory podium. I mean why else would I play a stall deck in Yugioh or go out of my way to find reasons to use One with Nothing to put pressure on an opponent? I mean it might help with Delirium decks to get those 4 card types in grave. That's a thought.
I love this. I play commander, and I actually run One with Nothing in a deck. I challenged myself to build a deck where the only win con is Barren Glory, and One with Nothing is one of the best ways to clear my hand for the win trigger.
7:23 Wait, doesn't this card have potential? Either use it for "When this creature deals damage to a player..." or use it as a combo piece to destroy your opponent in one hit with pump spells and perhaps infect.
Yeah, I would not dismiss this card at all. Everything you mentioned is right, and a token deck would work well too. Imagine a horde of 1/1s, you play a card that makes them all 2/2, then dump the rest of your mana on this card turn after turn.
I kinda stumbled on this video, and just wanted to say your editing is amazing. Keep up the good work! Editing like this makes watching a lot more fun.
Great video, keep up the good work ! You accidently called Angel's Grace a bad card near the end of the video (you probably meant Angel's Mercy). Angel's Grace is actually pretty great and very playable in Ad Nauseam. ;-)
In a lot of ways angels grace seemed pretty pointless too except in a very niche build where it happens to be awesome. This can fuel delve trigger madness and turn lupine prototype and ensnaring bridge online. I'm sure in the future something will make it more appealing. How far down the road is anybody's guess.

This requires 2 less mana, allows you to lose at the start of an opponents turn, and does exactly what the original hand did. Here's how:
Play Swamp, cast Rain of Filth, sacrifice the Swamp to float 1, cast Dark Ritual, Mishra's Bauble, and Tormod's Crypt, sacrifice the Bauble, cast Demonic Consulation, then One with Nothing, and sacrifice Tormod's Crypt. Pass and draw from an empty library on their turn.
...holy shit.
it has been found!
You will have a Crypt in you graveyard
No, you won't: Sacrificing the crypt is an activation cost. You activate the crypt by tapping and sacrificing it. The crypt goes into your graveyard. The ability goes on the stack, with your crypt in your graveyard. The ability resolves, exiling your graveyard, including your own crypt.

@Red Trout I wasn't saying that combo in specific was great, just that you can always find a use for a card in a specific deck.

Infernity can clear their hand by themselves, they don't need a card like this, and probably wouldn't play it.

Not to mention cards that work with CMC values...
@@BaddeJimme I love all these ideas here in the comments :D
I love weird win conditions (just started thinking about a self-mill deck with the new Jace, wielder of mysteries).
Play normally, put down TCSA as soon as you can, cast decree of annihilation the next turn.
I thought it was unplayable when I first saw it, but now I use it to one shot everyone in a multiplayer game... and having 0 life has it's advantages, you know ; )
I can't believe I've never seen this card before. it's incredible!
I'm curious to know what the deck is. Do you have it on tappedout or something?
U use token spam or damage lock?
theres also a gideon that can let you remain alive on 0hp too. or on 10+poison counters or even with no library left
Rhystic Studies with lich and other similar cards. You pay life usually via necropotence to pull up your library, then cast all the dark rituals and repay in kind
Congrats! Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis has finally made this a good card.
How? At most it gives you a handful of Delve fuel (pun intended). At that point couldn't you run Gurmag Angler and get more value?
Wait nvm the cast from gy effect makes it work
And it's gone

Yo, i dont personally play magic all that much but i can still appreciate this well-edited well-commentated vid. Map respect, keep up the good work.
thanks for stopping by and giving it a chance.
I'm sorry, your Video Production is too high for a MtG RUclips channel.
Oi there Rhystic, ye got a loicense for that quality?
BARREN GLORY! The combo he mentioned at the end would be an awesome way to trigger barren glories auto win condition!
A Cabal Ritual instead one Dark Ritual makes the suicide combo possible in Commander and doesn't leave mana in the pool. :D
so efficient it hurts.
Now i'm seriously thinking in make a commander deck with this combo in it.
You can play small pox instead of sink hole and you don't even need one with nothing. If you are looking for consistence that is.
nice to know, now that they eradicated mana burn...
“One with nothing is unmatched in the history of the game” lions eye diamond does it at instant speed for 0 mana
Can you cast it instantly?
@@johnroush1099 you can activate the ability at instant speed to discard your hand.
@@just_no2764 is that what I asked? >.>
Whenever I see One with Nothing, I keep thinking that Dredge almost wants it.
me no know
Seeing what dredge is capable of, I totally agree
Not one with nothing, dredge wants Breakthrough
Glorious End is the card that rewired my brain like this. I still try to think through how to make it work
I've never met someone who can turn MTG Metagame into a story. Until now. Sam, you make some pretty neat videos.
how dare you suggest the afformentioned cards are medeoker! imagine, break through the line on the field. Play an adaptive snapjaw and give it haste. then play canyon minotaur evolving the snapjaw and getting in for three unlockable damage. for only twelve mana!??
the value (!!!)
jazzwlf jazzwlf My God... Have mercy on us!
Seriously though, Break Through The Line was great in its format, and I have it as a secret tech card in my Cube.
That spelling of "mediocre" was pretty awesome. If only you could right click words and correct spelling.
passive aggressive grammar nazis are a thing now?
naiz
When I saw One With Nothing, my very first thought was "oh, you mean madness vampires?", or even sultai reanimate, or using Feldon of The Third Path for some really fun Artifact reanimator.
Buddhism in a card
Julian Laureano only if the buddah was actually a necromancer
@@drsatanrx well ghandi is a nuke expert so who knows
I actually played one with nothing as four of in a sideboard when we played team magic. it was for our teams black white agro deck. the card allowed you to be competitive against a deck in that format that played like 12 howling mine effects and stuff that dealt damage to you based on handsize. played on turn 3 in response to an instant that dealt damage equal to the number of cards in your hand it was a full blowout.
Yes, might I recommend this video ruclips.net/video/A_ndD-QmPJg/видео.html where the creator goes over this line of play against that deck
As a Yugioh player, I like to look at other TCG cards and image what it'd be like if YGO had it
This card would be absolutly insanity for most modern decks and it'd reach infamous status alongside Pot of Greed
The oponent cast something "discard 3 cards"
MC: think u missed my untapped land anda Felt into my trap ONE WITH NOTHING and now I discard my entire hand, your spell os useless now
Other characthers : shocked in surprise
Can we get a change in the rule book? If you can exile all your cards and board you win?
The Cheese Stands Alone? Barren Glory?
One with Nothing is good for
Warlock quest
YES!
this is the very video that made me discover your channel.
But the cards, will make anyone, new or old, say 'What the fuck?'
It'd be, extremly, extremly interesting.
(And I want a reprinted Tibalt, cause he's amazing)
funnily enough, there would emerge a hierarchy of good cards in such a pool! it's all relative, as it were.
I challenged myself to build a deck where the only win con is Barren Glory, and One with Nothing is one of the best ways to clear my hand for the win trigger.
that was so good. i thought you were going to do something similar to TheManaSource but it was not. this was really good and really original. 10/10
yeah I didn't like how that was on worst cards ever. it wasn't a mistake like the other cards in the series
Idk man. I play dredge, always looking for turn 1 discard outlets
I love that callback to your pithing needle video shouting out borborygmos. I wonder if there are more nods I've missed in other videos...
Angel's Grace is actually pretty great and very playable in Ad Nauseam. ;-)
damn it, you're right! my mistake.
A simple slip of the tongue, happens to all of us.
In a way, it sorta proves the point he was making at the time if he can't even properly remember the name of the card...
In a lot of ways angels grace seemed pretty pointless too except in a very niche build where it happens to be awesome. This can fuel delve trigger madness and turn lupine prototype and ensnaring bridge online. I'm sure in the future something will make it more appealing. How far down the road is anybody's guess.
a Tragic Slip of the tongue
