He is aware that his singing voice isn’t as strong as his deathcore vocals yet he covered this song anyways. One of many reasons I am an even bigger fan of Slaughter To Prevail and especially Alex Terrible.
Come on...Pantera was not good at singing and this song is not some vocal gold standard. Just get drunk, smoke a pack of cigarettes, and bam, you can sing a Pantera song.

Using the names of people, places & things adds a sense of depth making a more meaningful connection between the reader & yourself. Also be mindful of the when & where regarding punctuation. Your sentence would read much better if it were two sentences instead. A period or exclamation mark, for emphasis, after “this” & before Phil is great point to separate the two sentences. A few words of to describe “this” at the end would help the reader understand the context behind your statement. What is Phil one of the greats at?

Takes balls to do this song brother, especially the high notes. As a life long Pantera fan, it was always frustrating to watch Phil lose the ability to sing this song live. No amount of shouting for it at a concert would ever convince him to try it again after the 90's.

I gotta say this takes BALLS. You're the singer of a super heavy deathcore band that is known for crazy vocals. Cemetery Gates has probably some of the greatest vocals of any song out there. Good on you for challenging yourself!
The outro on the orginal with Phil is insane,he goes higher and higher on "gates" while Dime follows with the guitar solo :O

You sing in a different register from Phil, so this was never going to have the same sound. The fact that you’re aware of your clean vocals and have the presence of mind to be concerned with the outcome tells me (and others) that you do care about your clean vocals, which is awesome. Once you have really found your groove for your cleans, you can integrate them into different songs even better than you already do. This is what makes you a great singer, and not just another good singer.
Keep doing what you’re doing!
I think this throws people for a loop because they expect a completely harsh vocal cover but when they hear the cleans it just defies their expectations. This is a totally respectable cover. Alex, it's uniquely you and that's important! Your clean vocals are decent. It's too easy for people to just post hate and negativity. A little vocal coaching and you'll absolutely tear this up🤘🏼

Your cleans are very different from what people are used to, myself included. That being said, dude, they are harsh and have a violent edge to them, and I can't lie. I preferred this version personally. Just feels more raw and uncut. Amazing bro keep it up Alex 🤘🏻🤘🏻
