I’ve found that any fish that feeds on baitfish will hit one. Don’t do much salt water fishing but when I have a Trap will catch fish. My go to for any gamefish I have never fished for before.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, love the channel concept. LC’s were like the third type of bass lure I learned to use. I caughta ton of bass on them, even fishing them slowly in the winter on my home body of water where I was growing up. Electric/ holographic shad was my go to rattle trap color.

We were fishing yellow Sonics for bass in San Diego in the late 50's, caught lots of them.

Lipless crankbaits work in the saltwater too. Snook bite them and a bunch more species.
