Thanks Matt. I always want to see the actual retrieves and the drone footage is a valueable, excellent idea. Most of videos, the camera is behind the fisherman, and only show after he has caught a fish, and him fighting it. That quickly gets old !!! I always wanted to see his actual retrieve, and working the rod, cranking the reel, stop and go, or how fast of the cranking, even when he is not getting bites. I always want to see the lure hit the water, and how the bank structure relates, and then the actual retrieve. I have a good selection of Warpigs but don't use them enough, till now.
This is my first year back serious fishing in 15 years or more . I’m trying to learn bass lures I’ve never used . Just bought a lipless crank bait and didn’t get any catches . Thanks for showing how to use these .

Before i watch the vid i must say ive had an amazing year with a small lipless (secret color lol) this year. everytime i went fishing it worked and 75% of them were with a yoyo retrieve and 25% straight with a stop here and there. The Biospawn Rattlebot is my favorite lipless crank at this point. It doesn't foul and it just flat out works. I still have a whole bunch of Rattletraps, but I won't be replacing them once I lose them. The Rattlebot is taking over my lipless tackle box!!!

Great video!! I use lipped and lipless crankbait. Sometimes I get alittle stuck but pull threw the brush and weeds. I feel like I am just cleaning the bottom of the lake!!

I think chatterbaits have anglers throwing lippless less and that's a mistake. That spring drag retrieve sounds interesting and looking forward to trying it thanks again.
Drone is working well for showing the details that are hard to put into words. Slow yo-yo is my fav for my area. I'll use braid/carbon combo, lets me really key in on the baits normal feel.... anything different is usually small debris or subtle bite.... plus the jarring bites are magnified by the braid.... thats the cooool part... lol. I love a lipless and i just don’t throw it enough lol caught my first 6lb on one in 25 wind lol. But Do you have use it In windy conditions or can it be a claim day since it’s a noisy bait? That’s something I get confused on. Like a spinner bait or chatter bait has to be used in windy conditions.
@@kevinbeaudean704 yessir! We troll with the 3/4 oz traps too and striper hammer them! Chrome if its sunny, white/bone if its cloudy. I was throwing the 1/2 oz warpig on the flats in June and they loved it. Fun on bass tackle to fight a 25+".
I use all those retrieves at one time or other. Those long rocky points are good to. They seem to be ignored in these parts, good for me. I also keep a mixed bag of lipless, never know what the fish fancy at any one day.
Spro Aruka shad has been my best lipless for multiple bodies of water. Largemouth and smallmouth. I love rattle traps and rattle spots. Strikeking makes a good one too but the spro is awesome. It runs a little more nose down and does get hung up as much. I'm not a fan of the war pig but maybe I haven't given it a fair chance

When buying a lipless, one of the things I look for is how it flutters down on the fall because I like to jerk and snatch mine around a lot like you were showing. But a good flutter on the fall is important to mimic a wounded or dying baitfish. I've found that a Red Eye Shad and 6th Sense Quake 70 excel doing that. Also, am I crazy or were your power poles gone?
Hey Matt good advice but I got a question when you sign up to fish the moment one of the laks I fish here in Akron ohio is the only lake here I can't get a map of the lake from the Rangers. But this lake has some I'm not going to say pig BUT HOGS IN IT can fish the moment help me with this. Bank fishermen
I never used my lipless crankbaits as i did not know how to fish the. As it is getting warmer here in South Africa i cannot wait to fish it in warmer water.
One of my favorite baits to fish especially on the tidal Potomac river. But on the upper Potomac river where we have more smallmouth it's not as productive fish catcher. I don't know why.

I throw them on a medium rod and upgrade the hooks depending on the brand. I've had good luck with the Biospawn Rattlebot. The hooks on it are excellent.

Fishing from the riverbank I can't bounce my lippless baits off the bottom. I wouldn't be able to retrieve it from the grass if it gets to deep without a boat
Standing on the riverbank fishing rattle traps lures by knocking them into cover isn't always a good thing. Without a kayak, small boat I can't get right over the cover to get the lure unstuck. Being on the riverbank I am pulling it at a lower angle and digging the hooks deeper into the wood

One other retrieve is burn stop with the rod tip up and keep it in the topwater to 2' foot of water. My other favorite is burn and sweep. Nice tips.

Maybe you’ve addressed this previously, but have you ever tried or heard of removing the front hook of lipless or lipped crankbaits.
i dont remove it but i cut the front hook of the treble

I don't mind lipless but I tend to loose more fish on it. Therefore I only fish it when I feel like I can't trigger them on a lipped crank.

EWG hooks it will change your ratio. I haven't lost a bass on a lippless in years. I was the same way and almost stopped throwing them.
