- Here is a short look into what it's like to own a Classic Mini.
Before I brought the black Mini shown in the thumbnail I watched just about every Classic Mini video on RUclips to get an understanding of what its like to drive and work on one, I didn't find what I was looking for, just a few un-stabilised GoPro shots, Hopefully this will give you a better understanding of what it is truly like to own one of these fantastic cars!
I produced the video for my final unit on the Creative Media course at Abingdon and Witney College.

What can you say. Pain in the arse at times and look at the bills to keep her going and scratch my head wondering if it's worth it. Then every day I get in and drive it and my face lights up with a huge smile. Worth it oh yes.
I've just bought a Mini Cooper S from 1994, i love it, my wife and I had minis back in the early 60's and bought bigger cars as our family grew,, i love that old feeling of driving the mini again.

I brought my 1st Mini in '87 too a Mini City E. Have had a Clubman Estate,a Studio2 & now drive a John Cooper Le 40. Have always been obsessed with these fantastic little cars, nothing drives like a Mini,so much fun 💚

Well done video! I've owned a '63 Austin Cooper 997 here in the states for a little over 20 years, but it's been almost 15 years since I drove it last. This gives me some good inspiration to push it up in the priority list!

Thanks for the video! I am from the US and very interested in a classic mini. There is something that catches my eyes about it and have been wondering how it feels to drive one and working on one. As far as liking modern cars, there has always been something very awesome about being able to own classic cars and I am thrilled and excited to one day own one; besides datsuns and an ae86, I think I love to own one as my first car
+Synth8693 working on one can sometimes be a pain in the ass, but that aside it is a small price you pay for such an amazing little car! and well driving one, feels like a go-kart! it sticks to the road!

I have a 1976 Mini 1098. It is the South African short stroke 1098 motor with a Dellorto DHLA 40 carb. I love it! Great video!
Classic minis get under your skin in a good way Thay are such a joy to drive I love my two classic minis and will never get rid of them
Great Video! I was going to sell my mini as we had too many cars. My friend said "you can always buy another Yaris but you won't always find another mini". Also a lot of former owners I meet always say they regret selling theirs. So good bye Yaris and back to the Mini (out of the garage and slowly getting it back in shape). Lots of fun

I always liked the classic mini, and I bought my first one (and first car) almost a year ago now. I have been working on it on the driveway ever since, to get it back on the road, hopefully before I get my driving licence in Oktober.
Can't wait to finally get to drive it!

You do not see many classic cars on the roads these days, certainly not as daily drives, but I always see minis around norfolk, more than any other classic car, though when car shows are on, all the Morris Minors come out to play, but these are not daily drives like the mini is, which speaks volumes for the awesome little car.
I will be honest, I am too chicken to buy a classic mini, i know as much about car engines as i do brain surgery, so i settled for a BMW MINI, which i know is not the same at all, but that car makes me smile more than any other i have owned.
Just buy one Thay a so easy to work on and You’ll never regret it
such an amazing video, I love the can as well, I got my first one when I was 14 and sold it to buy a second 25 year silver anniversary mini, I've still got half a year until I can drive it but it's exiting to customise it and make it my own, great video!!

Great video mate. :) Can't wait to have my wiring done so that i can finally drive the Mini that i just bought. It needed an engine swap as the old one was dead. I'm quite happy tho as the old one was a 900cc or something like that and this one is a 1300cc from a mini metro. Oh and what is the name of the songs please? They are so relaxing.

I can defiantly recommend it, just remember they are old and they go wrong but its part of the experience learning how to put them right. So for the car + Insurance mine was £3400. But keep checking ebay and Facebook, there will be ones cheaper. Where are you based? I hope to be in London to Brighton too!.

Just bought a 1963 Morris mini 850 from South Africa with no rust and 27000 miles on the clock from new. Itching for it to come so I can drive it! Maybe sell it n the near future to buy a 80s mini so I can use it as a daily drive

i have a 1987 mini advantage with a big bore '64 cooper s engine (1275cc) my restoration project at the moment. shes does 86k on the clock and a solid subframe!

Despite its apparent rarity would love to own a Mini 1275 Automatic though concerned about being able to keep up with modern traffic, would a stage 1 upgrade be sufficient enough to put such concerns to rest?
Avoid the automatics, unless you like rebuilding transmissions.
My 1st car was a '63 Woody Wagon Mini with Van doors on the back I wish that I never sold it.
My Mini is a 1961 (registered Jan 1962), I have owned it since 1969. Anyone got an older one, or owned one longer?
Where can I get the roof rack?
Recommend for a first car? I don't have a garage to put it in and I live in Scotland so the weather is very wet.

+Interlock Productions Well, I didn't get a Mini... Every possible hurdle to get in the way of buying one did and so I gave up trying to find the perfect one. As a result I have ended up buying a Citroen C1 Airscape Flair Puretech 82.

I recently passed my driving test and I have always wanted a mini could anyone suggest some cheap car insurance for these cars!
Admiral do a classic car insurance scheme and as well as that if you get multi-car insurance that can bring the price down. An 18 year old can get a 998cc mini insured at £1300
awesome what would the price difference be if you got a 1275cc mini?
I'm not 100% sure, mine is a 998cc and insurance is around £1450 and I'm 17. Going by that guideline I'd suggest yours would maybe be £1600+depending on your age, after you turn 18 it goes down rapidly
If you've just passed your test, getting a 998 is better than a 1275 simply for the insurance

Lanre Oladejo I bought my Mini in January, and I use it everyday. Put 4,500 miles on the clock without a hiccup. I spent around £200 on the MOT, but the previous owner must have had a dodgy MOT.
Everyone will tell you they are terrible cars, but if you want one, get one. I wont go to anything else.
