  • KEEP IN MIND! I have heard that the RAF is apparently only allowing the DAA to be taken once, I'm not 100% sure if this is true so do your own research
So this is a video in which I explain how I personally passed my DAA, I've done my interview so I'll be uploading that shortly as well. Let me know how you guys go and I look forward to your responses. Good Luck!

@@michaelholtz2243 Maybe but I did score higher in the maths, like my electrical and mechanical. It might be best to message your recruiter about the actual scores but I am sure maths is one of the ones tho.
In regards to being good or bad at maths it comes down to one main thing, learn how to work it out overall. Meaning if your struggling on fractions for example simply learn how to multiply single digit fractions, double digit and whole numbered fractions, once you understand that you can't go wrong. Don't try to do: 'What's 1/4 divided by 3/7's' instead learn HOW to divide fractions in general if that makes sense.
Same goes for decimal and percentages. The more you study the better you'll get. I struggled with decimals in certain place so I went mad on it but keep in mind to also factor in the other subjects when studying as you want to score as high as possible in everything.

I only knew from trying it out myself (trial and error) on the day you do tell them what to set the speed on but from then you're on your own. Keep in mind each treadmill is different so if you went 14 speed and you hit 10:40 min then just keep in mind that may increase on a different treadmill (hopefully they tell you this as they did for me). It's nothing to worry about as long as you're conscious of the time while you are taking the test to workout where you are. Hope this helps.

I would recommend doing intervals of work, say 2hr of continuous studying (what I did was lots of practice questions, How2Become is a great resource to use, take advantage of the tests they provide. Anything you see weaknesses in after doing some tests, write them down and prioritize them for studying) and then maybe 30 minutes break to cool down. @JakeGchannel yes it was enough thankfully. I'm going for mechanical Engineer and have the interview in May but I'm 90% sure I'll get held back on the medical.

@@DopeyDyl Oh nice that's not an easy one to get into. I think most people do so don't get beat up about it I got held back for months so just chillout if it does take a while and it will eventually all fall into place, given its not a serious condition/issue of course.

@JakeGchannel yeah it's a similar thing to you with anti depressants etc but at least I'll have more time to get fit. Thank you for the support though and good luck with your journey.

what were the options you were given when you failed both the tests?

I got give a boat load to be fair. Everything logistical virtually like cryptographer, communications etc, a few general technician roles and the cyberspace.

They basically send an email out and I believe (don't quote me) that you can also look up the roles you can choose through your portal.

I've got my daa on the 25th in 2 days. I'm hoping to get the cyberspace communication role. Do you remember the pass standards for the role, or the areas where you needed to score higher?

    • @JakeGchannel
      @JakeGchannel  2 месяца назад

@@lewiswoodward8282 ah the trade I am doing! Erm I can’t remember off the top of my head but I got 50% in maths, both engineering and slightly lower scores in the others I believe (due to lack of preparation) and got the role with like 62% overall pass rate I think. I don’t think you need that much but obviously I don’t know what the minimum standard is so just aim for the highest you can. Hope this helps 🙂

Ah ok. Yh I'm aiming to get a good score overall. I just didnt want to under-prepare for a certain area. fingers crossed 🤞

@@lewiswoodward8282 yeah the best thing to do is prepare as much as you can but don’t over do it, I realised (when I was revising) that there is only so much I can do before burning myself out so if you feel like you’ve done all you can then there’s nothing to be ashamed of similar to what I said in the video as I tried really hard 👍 good luck and let us know how it goes 🙂

Hi. I'm happy to say I passed for the cyberspace communication role and for a few more roles, which I wasn't expecting, ha. It was definitely challenging, but I did better than I thought I would. Also, this video definitely helped, so I wanted to say thank you, and I'll continue to follow this series 👍

@@lewiswoodward8282 yes nice work! That’s great to hear are you going to pursue the cyberspace role or go for some of the others you got offered? Yeah it’s a big challenge something I wasn’t expecting when I did the DAA. I’m glad to hear it helped 🙂but you did the hard work and got over the line a winner so hats off to you 👍 let us know how the interview goes.

Ugh, I can relate to the electrical comprehension test I found it very difficult. I thought it would be the easiest for me I managed to answer 10 questions right tho. I've done great in maths mechanics and work rate, hated spatial and logical reasoning tests, and regarding verbal test I found it challenging a bit since english is my second language. I am going to retake the assessments soon I am applying to be an air engineer officer. I have a degree in aerospace engineering and done like 20 hours of flying, I find it ridiculous to complete the spatial reasoning test and the logical one! Thanks for the tips I hope I pass this time :(
