I’m using one of these at my local club and I love it! I have a question though… What pinion do you think I should change to improve its straight line speed? It’s far too slow on the straights compared to the others!
This is a problem we have had but we have not experimented with gearing as we have kept it slow for a beginner… if you go larger on the pinion I would recommend adding a fan to keep motor temp down
Great video and comparison...I'm gutted I sold my FTX as it was the second RC car I bought after getting back into RC...was a brilliant car considering many pretentious folks within our Hobby scorn their noses at any brands that arent Axial, Arrma etc etc... I've since got a few tamiyas...so I might get another Banzai...Already got the HPI Maverick Strada (blue s15 shell version) and the Banzai is very similar. 👍
@@PopalongRC Re close racing when everyone runs the same car...you've pretty much nailed what we do at WLRC....their 'entry level' is tamiya class...pretty much no upgrades, torque tuned motor, limited pinion choice..all we can really mess about with it the suspension....so costs are kept down which is great for us newbies to club racing...it also means we hone our race craft....I only wish they allowed us to run other brands like the Banzai/Maverixk Strada so that it opens up and allows more to join in...at the mo we can only run them on fun days (so like open days to ease prospective/new members into a club day). 👍👍😎
I’ve see that some clubs run tub chassis equivalent class which opens up the Banzai Strada to run with the TT01 and TT02 cars. As long as the motor and batteries are similar or the same it remains a fair class.
Nice vid bro,,so banzai is for pavement,,is the ftx hooligan,,I thinks it called that 😅🤔,,the rally version, ftx geo,,,new ftx crawler,,,have you seen one 🤔,,,they look nice 😉👍
I have seen a couple of the new crawlers but not had a proper look. I liked the look of the hooligans but they don’t do them anymore. But they would have been fun ,, think they are a different scale though 1/9 -1/8 as not true 1/10
Hello there. Nice vid 😊 I have one of these on order. Can you please tell me: what specifoc tyres (make and size) I need to get to change the tyres to touring-style? Im baffled by the amount of choice / teamed with my lack-of-rc-knowledge (... it's my first ever car!). Thanks mate 😊 JpD.
It depends where you run it and what you want to do with it. Racing indoor on carpet core A30s are good value and good grip. Outdoor racing I’d say rush 30s are good If just driving around and whizzing round parking lots the Fastrax range of tyres will last longer
I use my banzai at the club bud and it keeps up well in both drift and racing. it is running a 9t motor but did ok on the stock 20t . thing has a right kicking as it's more like a destruction Derby sometimes 🤣👍🐿
Cheaper to get the Banzai drifting as it comes with everything Whereas Tamiya will need Radio gear and servo so will work out at close to double the price ..
Ftx make some great entry level RTR cars and they are very drivable. For pure drifting some of the 3Racing drift cars are good out the box… not sure how easy it is to get spares though… ftx and Tamiya are sold at Local model shops so easier to get spares …
@@PopalongRC I can't quite make it in 2 hrs to Milton-Keynes from Bonny Scotland. think I may have found an indoor racing club reasonable local to me. WHOOP WHOOP!
Great RC car review and video. 😊👍

I have looked at the Strada cars on a few occasion. The racing was so close, it is great when everyone is running a similar car.

I personally think clubs need to open it up if they want to grow.. the industry is massive at the moment but clubs are struggling

You’re welcome
Beautiful review😍👏
Thank you Rene
Ive got one and put a 3000kv brushless motor and 60a esc with standard gears, touring wheels and tyres, top speed is 34mph 😎
I have a similar set up I could put in it

What type of racing is this?
Tub chassis touring cars - basically tt01 racing with the addition of some RTR cars to help include newcomers
It was poised and planted because it was so slow haha
Great video music is too annoying and unnecessary
Yeah we have learnt a lot since our early videos … thanks for watching
