I love all the old sitcoms like Mom and Gunsmoke, and all the news channels from CNN, CSPAN to Fox, and The History, Daystar, etc, but no sports. I love to DVR. Do you think RUclips would be the best subscription for me with an antenna for local channels! Very excited to find out Pluto is even better than I knew. Just hooked up my antenna, it's wired directly into the tv, and my OTA channels appeared on my Pluto guide! Look at that, all you rip off streaming services, trying to make us buy various pieces of equipment before you can include them on your guide. Apparently, it's kind of easy to do without your expensive boxes.

I have a Superbox. Get several hundred channels including locals for only the purchase price of the box ($300.00). I truly believe this is the way to cut the cord. It also offers many movies and also a way to watch programming you missed.
I'd sent a query to specifically show "FREE" tv streaming but what I got was information of what I can pay to buy. Naturally, I understand that search engines typically route you to whomever is paying them.
If you have a Roku tv it's available on that, but if you have a plug n play Roku device you have to switch to your antenna through your TV remote by hitting input and choosing TV with antenna connected to your TV.
Have you heard of kanopy? It's an app you can download on fire tv roku and apple tv. It's through your local library if they have it. You can watch 15 movies a month ad free.

Great video and informational, but it completely misses the point that isps screw you on internet service if you don't take their television packages , so you end up paying more than $100 a month anyway. I'm paying nearly $150 a month for internet service plus a few streaming services. I may as well go back to cable. It's all just a huge racket, mainly because the FCC allows internet service providers to get away with rip off pricing.
Since I am not subscribed to services like RUclips tv, how do I get my local channels, NBC, CBS, ABC? I watch TV shows and I've tried peacock, for shows like This is Us, and I get episodes that I have seen and nothing new. I can't get certain channels live on NBC, and ABC without subscription to a service. I can get some CBS
I have been online with Locast for free local channels. Now, I am aware Locast is undergoing some legal issues but when last I checked, it was working fine. They do nag you for a donation but that is not required. If/when they get the legal issues resolved, I certainly would consider giving them their suggested $5/month donation. Good quality signal. Seems to work fine. I run Locast on a Roku channel.
It would be more useful to provide a list of tv channe lineups for each service so that someone can pick a service given the shows they are interested in.
What are some options when I just want football and want to stream whatever game is on. I have done without NFL Sunday Ticket with apps that have youtube links. Tereeka Bruno it depends on what you want to watch. He gave you a lot of low cost/ no cost options. I’m an On I Amazon Prime member, so they have a free channel with no adds. I bought an Apple phone, so it has a free one year Apple + channel. (I’ll drop it then) There is a lot of free stuff on RUclips (not RUclips tv.) My library has a free app, Kanopy. Plex is great. Newsy and Haystack are terrific free news channels. I pay $9.95 a month for Netflix. I get Abc, NBC, cbs, pbs, fox and 16 other stations with my OVER THE AIR antennae that sticks in my window. So keep watching these cord cutting stations and you’ll realize there is a lot of free tv out there.
NewsOn may have been ok 9 months ago but it is has an annoying amount of commercials now. And I don't see a subscription price to avoid the commercials. I would never recommend it. Locast is probably better
I think using a browser on either platform and pulling up the station's web address is likely the best way. The Firestick being Android allows you to download the station's app if available. RUclips maybe a viable alternative too. Let me add, if you're using a Firestick you may need it to allow downloads from unknown sources. It's easy to do. Thanks

I have and love ROKU but there is a drawback. I have Spectrum for phone and WiFi which I run my ROKU from. I have the app MyTCM. When I go to try and launch it I get a Failure to Authenticate notice. It tells me to call my cable provider. Do I need cable TV to use the app?

We got Philo TV about a month ago, just so we could get Discovery ID. When we returned to Comcast, we found out we couldn't have that channel anymore. Phil is a good deal. You get 58 channels for $20 a month.
You can’t really save because first, you still need to have the internet, that is money. Then you start paying for what you want to see. It adds up fast so, I don’t get what you’re saying.

Try Sling TV cause I also use Antenna for my Locals I have Netflix Sling has all the channels I want cause cable in used to pay 177 dollars for cable and internet
Yeah cable prices are high plus the content is meager with constantly rerun movies. I suppose one of the discussed paid streaming services would still cost way less than the cable or other satellite tv providers.
There is a couple of concerns that I do have for those channels that you have mentioned they're not available on my Roku TV it seems like that you and a bunch of other people are forgetting something Canadians we are not eligible to receive some of those channels that you mentioned the only reason why I'm saying that is because I've looked and I looked for the channels on my Roku TV it would be good if you guys actually start explaining these chains are for us and these channels are Canadians or is there something special that I need to get 4 my Roku TV so I can get those channels because I'm interested in the PlayStation Channel and also a few others I just can't find them!
I love my ROKU Channel! FYI I was able to install it without giving them my credit card. There’s a way to bypass it ...I forgot how I did it but I did looked it up on RUclips. There are so many free channels you can install on your ROKU. When I miss my shows on local channels (let’s say NBC, ABC, etc) i just go to those channels that I have installed on my ROKU and watch it from there. You have to create an account and from there it’ll ask you to create your PIN # which you will be needing every time you install a new channel. And of course you need to have wifi.
You should mention that your presentation is intended to a US audience only. Due to geoblocking few, if any, of those feeds are available to the rest of the world.
@@berrywr1 you can’t side load any apps. Meaning what’s in the Roku store is what you’re stuck with. So no, they aren’t really the same. There are private channels you can get for roku but they aren’t that great

3:20 you still have to use the service provider’s internet. Add the cost of that in. Right now, dec 2019, RUclips tv and spectrum internet service is 2 dollars cheaper than spectrum and their streaming streaming service with 5 premium channels and cloud Dvr with all local. The cheap days of streaming services are over. Hulu going up to 54 a month dec 18th. I’m going to lock the spectrum deal in for the next 2 years ( no contract) in the next day or 2. I wonder how much these streaming service will be in 2021.

Is Hulu TV still the best choice for watching Dallas Cowboy football either live or on demand because sometimes I cannot be home to watch live? I guess NFL Game Pass still will not allow you to watch live but will let you watch it later that day. Hulu's Cloud will allow you to DVR for later. I noticed my CBS All Access did not even show the game here in my area which was on last night.
Cowboys only play on Fox, they cover the NFC games. Local antenna gets Fox for free or if you know someone who has a fox sports subscription, you can watch it thru the app.
just go get a verizon phone plan. It comes with an NFL app. You pick your favorite team and you can watch them live. Thats what I have to do living in Pittsburgh. All my Cowboys games come accross my FREE NFL app.
DirectTV Now Update - Aug 9, 2019. Still no local CBS Channel. They say it might be the 12th before added. Plus, found an additional nugget regarding On-Demand. DirectTV Now (or whatever they call it) updates On-Demand shows on Wednesday and Sunday. Example: Yellowstone aired Wednesday night. It won't be available until noon CDT Sunday. Online chat indicated they had issues with On-Demand content. Supposedly this will stop those issues. If I wasn't grandfathered in my plan, I'd dump this service. To be fair, they reduced my monthly bill $15 for my patience.

Watched a few of these videos and am always amazed by how much you pay for internet. Here In the UK internet phone and TV plus sports can be got for less 100 British pounds. If you only want internet it's about 30 British pounds .free over the air TV has over 100 channels nation wide.
Anton Chigurh If you are referring to the outdoor off air antenna the correct language is preamp. If you are referring to amplifying indoors then a simple amplifier is needed. But it will not improve existing signal only amplify to run more tv’s.
Anton Chigurh A pre amp is for amplifying antenna signals. An amplifier only amplifies distribution to more TV’s. Be correct or he will buy the wrong thing.

When Locast decides to serve Cleveland, I'll gladly donate. I can't get certain channels where I live.
The resolution depends on the ammountbof wind outside. If their signal gets disrupted, you see the same.

How do you get a web address on roku or whay I mean a web browser to searh internet on your tv.
Here in Lampasas, Texas we are in a bit of a hope and we have trouble getting channels with antennas unless you build a big tower.

I have a very good antenna. Unfortunately, the direction it needs to be pointed is obscured by lots of buildings and I cannot get a station I really want which is METV. Can I stream METV using roku or does roku simply rely on the antenna reception?

I have and love ROKU but there is a drawback. I have Spectrum for phone and WiFi which I run my ROKU from. I have the app MyTCM. When I go to try and launch it I get a Failure to Authenticate notice. It tells me to call my cable provider. Do I need cable TV to use the app?

We got Philo TV about a month ago, just so we could get Discovery ID. When we returned to Comcast, we found out we couldn't have that channel anymore. Phil is a good deal. You get 58 channels for $20 a month.
But you still NEED internet so you're still paying someone.

Yes, you do have to have internet. I would suggest starting off with the free Roku streaming apps and add an OTA antenna to watch local channels.

Try Sling TV cause I also use Antenna for my Locals I have Netflix Sling has all the channels I want cause cable in used to pay 177 dollars for cable and internet
I use my TMOBILE smart phone hotspot to get internet which let's me connect to my channels.
Yeah cable prices are high plus the content is meager with constantly rerun movies. I suppose one of the discussed paid streaming services would still cost way less than the cable or other satellite tv providers.

There is a couple of concerns that I do have for those channels that you have mentioned they're not available on my Roku TV it seems like that you and a bunch of other people are forgetting something Canadians we are not eligible to receive some of those channels that you mentioned the only reason why I'm saying that is because I've looked and I looked for the channels on my Roku TV it would be good if you guys actually start explaining these chains are for us and these channels are Canadians or is there something special that I need to get 4 my Roku TV so I can get those channels because I'm interested in the PlayStation Channel and also a few others I just can't find them!

I love my ROKU Channel! FYI I was able to install it without giving them my credit card. There’s a way to bypass it ...I forgot how I did it but I did looked it up on RUclips.
There are so many free channels you can install on your ROKU. When I miss my shows on local channels (let’s say NBC, ABC, etc) i just go to those channels that I have installed on my ROKU and watch it from there. You have to create an account and from there it’ll ask you to create your PIN # which you will be needing every time you install a new channel. And of course you need to have wifi.
You should mention that your presentation is intended to a US audience only. Due to geoblocking few, if any, of those feeds are available to the rest of the world.
Free VPN, set it up via computer or phone off same internet modem and boom, you have access. Opera browser has one free and good.

They're one and the same! If you mean the Firestick vs Roku; it's the Firestick if you want Live TV.

3:20 you still have to use the service provider’s internet. Add the cost of that in. Right now, dec 2019, RUclips tv and spectrum internet service is 2 dollars cheaper than spectrum and their streaming streaming service with 5 premium channels and cloud Dvr with all local. The cheap days of streaming services are over. Hulu going up to 54 a month dec 18th. I’m going to lock the spectrum deal in for the next 2 years ( no contract) in the next day or 2. I wonder how much these streaming service will be in 2021.

Is Hulu TV still the best choice for watching Dallas Cowboy football either live or on demand because sometimes I cannot be home to watch live? I guess NFL Game Pass still will not allow you to watch live but will let you watch it later that day. Hulu's Cloud will allow you to DVR for later. I noticed my CBS All Access did not even show the game here in my area which was on last night.
Cowboys only play on Fox, they cover the NFC games. Local antenna gets Fox for free or if you know someone who has a fox sports subscription, you can watch it thru the app.

just go get a verizon phone plan. It comes with an NFL app. You pick your favorite team and you can watch them live. Thats what I have to do living in Pittsburgh. All my Cowboys games come accross my FREE NFL app.

DirectTV Now Update - Aug 9, 2019. Still no local CBS Channel. They say it might be the 12th before added. Plus, found an additional nugget regarding On-Demand. DirectTV Now (or whatever they call it) updates On-Demand shows on Wednesday and Sunday. Example: Yellowstone aired Wednesday night. It won't be available until noon CDT Sunday. Online chat indicated they had issues with On-Demand content. Supposedly this will stop those issues. If I wasn't grandfathered in my plan, I'd dump this service. To be fair, they reduced my monthly bill $15 for my patience.

Watched a few of these videos and am always amazed by how much you pay for internet. Here In the UK internet phone and TV plus sports can be got for less 100 British pounds. If you only want internet it's about 30 British pounds .free over the air TV has over 100 channels nation wide.

Anton Chigurh If you are referring to the outdoor off air antenna the correct language is preamp. If you are referring to amplifying indoors then a simple amplifier is needed. But it will not improve existing signal only amplify to run more tv’s.
Anton Chigurh A pre amp is for amplifying antenna signals. An amplifier only amplifies distribution to more TV’s. Be correct or he will buy the wrong thing.
