''En-tire?" Hate to be this person but I believe you meant to say 'Enter*'... lol
@@JaMeYc420 Yeah I know. But I can't edit anymore or the heart is lost.
It’s a freaking miracle the Old Republic lasted 25,000 years let alone 25 years
That's why Emperor called it ''The crowning achievement of civilized beings''.
Honestly, that's a VERY ABSURD number of years and I wonder if the writers knew how big 25,000 years actually is! (or in this case, George Lucas, since he's the one who wrote "for over a thousand generations")
Just to put things in perspective: on Earth, the invention of agriculture happened about 12,000 years ago (according to Wikipedia).
Yup. We were still cavemen who had JUST invented agriculture!
@@cubescihist6737 Warhammer lasts 40,000 years lol
@@mingthan7028 Yes indeed, lol
@Celestial Hylos imperium has an army, navy, inquisition, astartes e.t.c. to sustain repression machine. republic does not. it hasn't an army prior clone wars lol
I'd love to see an in-depth video on Alderaan, its culture, what led it to become pacifist and then at least its leaders change their mind and join the Rebel Alliance.
And maybe even some of its darker historical aspects. For example, the Organas actually had some flawed moments during the Old Republic era.
@@michaelandreipalon359 I saw a video with an Organa in it dated to the Sith Wars. Only a bit sus…
If you haven't done these planets already, how about:
Alderaan (is it just Naboo in the Core?)
Duro (supposedly the most important non-human species in the Republic)
The Floating Cities found through out the SW universe
Competition during the early days of the Galactic Republic was absolutely fierce and ruthless and the core worlds were always tying to up do each other for the fame and glory, and sadly it was a sentiment that stay with the Galactic Republic even to the Galactic Empire.
seems like it stopped with the clone wars
Talk about Alderaan. Besides their Civil War and conflict with the Killiks they seem pretty chill.
Another Alsakan Conflict occurs.
Corellia: "Ah shit. Here we go again".
Shocking that their very first piece of Star Wars is actually a book from 1976. Say, Geetsly's, any plans to make a "spin-off" video series about strange yet interesting real life Star Wars facts?
Got a lot of plans for 2023, so that could be part of some of our Shorts Content!
@@geetslys Oh, nice, upcoming shorts!
Congratulations, Michael, you may have just given Geetsly a cool video idea series, which is something I too would like to see. :)
Heh, don't get your hopes up immediately.
@@michaelandreipalon359 Don't worry I won't. That's why I said you may have. But I'm also patient, so I can wait if I have to. I waited for Geetsly to eventually discuss the Battle of Cato Nemodia during the Outer Rim Siege for a while, and it was well worth it.
Imagine all the drama that must be happening on Space Twitter with all the Core worlds trying to one-up each other.
If you switch the a and s in Alsakan, you get Alaskan
Their description sounded like Anchorage all the way to chickaloon
Basically our own real life version of the US, China, and Russia (those 3 super power core worlds) battling over smaller countries (outter rim worlds).
Nice to see someone use the picture of Shawken Spire. I would love to see a video on 20 Wonders of the galaxy by Vicendi (I think) at 10.000 BBY. And did you know that Alsakan had one of the Wonder too? It's called Alsakan mosaic. While Coruscant had two: the kilometers high Imperial Palace, and the Cold crypt.
Great videos! Now I know more about the Alsakan, a forgotten super power core world.
*USSR
soulds like corelia was like a big brother or a mother that got so angry with the unruly kids that they took them by the ears and forced them to stop the fighting during the 17th conflict
A strange miracle, them becoming a united front later on... shame they've transferred their saber-measuring and -rattling to the other lesser and even impoverished worlds and systems.
Edit: Strange. Why no blame on the Force itself?
Kreia: Nice question, Padawan.
The force never influenced them, as they cannot feel nor hear it. It was mortal pride and greed.
@@year111 Does the Force not flow through every form of life?
The Senate is always at war.
Congratulations on you're 1000 video, Geetsly.
I was kind of hoping for something a bit more entertaining than just some stuff about the Core Worlds Lightsaber measuring contests. But, like all of you're videos, this one was still very enjoyable, Grand Master Geetsly. This is why you're the best and only Star Wars RUclipsr I subscribe too. :)
Although I think you're a little hard on the Core Worlds they aren't all bad, and not all of them are Human dominated, there are a few alien worlds in there like Duro. And speaking of, since you asked if we'd be interested in learning about more Core Worlds, I'd be interested in learning more about Duro and if they ever recovered after what Grevious did to them during Operation Durges Lance.
Legend of Galactic Heroes screenshots? Geetsly's has good taste in space-warfare shows.
Can you do a video commenting your opnion about how Dave Filoni developed the Jedi in clone wars as an institution that made big mistakes and if that deviated from what George Lucas developed the jedi to symbolically represent in history? Do you think this "subversion" ended up working and giving the story the depth it needed? Do you think that George Lucas already raised this question, but didn't develop it in the story of the Prequels because that wasn't the focus of the plot?
Dave Filoni is only following Luca's original interpretation and vision of SW story. The Prequel movies showed us a glimpse of how far the Jedi had fallen from their ideals and what they were supposed to be in the OT. TCW show and now the Dooku episodes from Tales of the Jedi only added further detail showing the Jedi being as inefficient, dogmatic, blind, and corrupt as the Senate it now serves as opposed to the Will of the Force.
Not only that, but the clone culture greatly differed from established Legends or at the time EU content especially the works of Karen Travis
@@worldwanderer91 The Jedi are not an “institution”. They’re not some government bureaucracy, they’re tasked with keeping peace and balance in the force, and that’s what they tried to do at every point they could. It was not through any fault of the Jedi that Order 66 happened, it was only though Palpatine’s evil genius political maneuvering.
@@felicitys3621 Even without Sith shenanagans, the Jedi was also rotting away from within like the Republic was. It got more dogmatic, rigid, inflexible, bureaucratic, near-emotionless, and more concerned about blindly obeying the Will of the Senate as opposed to following the Will of the Force. They essentially became Force-using Senate law enforcement officers who delude themselves into believing they are somehow neutral peacekeepers.
@@lawrencetalbot8346 The Karen Travis Mandalorians are infinitely better than Clone Wars, as much as I love it they really fucked up in that regard.
Can't really blame the separatist if they weren't being controlled by sith their actions would probably have been more justified and less chaotic.
1976 - whoever wrote that quote at 1:17 predicted how the Sith weakened the Republic before any of the prequel stuff was made.
Predicted? It's in the drafts of A New Hope
@@user-yq9im9dk9z damn.
Cheers. Actually the new hope novel was the first thing i read after the movies.
1:21 until me and the the boys (the vong) show up with a massive chain saw
Well back in the good old days the outer rim and sith space could rival the core worlds in grandeur.
Dromund Kaas , Ziost , Zygerria , Ord Radama to name a few of the great planets that where left meaningless by the time of the clone wars.
While mostly the sith were some real bastards, some of them were actually empire builders like darth Marr who low-key wanted the best for their people. In a sense even vitiate, till he ditched the sith for his new eternal empire.
Core Worlds: We rule the Gaalxy!
Chiss, Yuuzhan vong and First Order: Hold our blue milk.

Also, best friends.
Would definitely love to see more on Duro
Since you mentioned them in the video, how about you cover the galaxy’s Major hyperspace routes?
Alaskan and coruscant are the two little brothers fighting each other over something petty and corellia is the big brother that tired of their shit
5:47 this artwork depicts ships from wh40k. Tau vs Chaos to be precise
Ha, ha! Love your great (and very relevant) synopsis of what this galaxy suffered from.
Quite similar to what of course, our own planet suffers from.
It's often very difficult to understand how a species (humans) can be so incredibly gifted at great concepts and ideas and yet still so animalistic when it comes to desires.
Videos on either Alderaan, Anaxes or Fornost would all be appreciated.
Like I said before, the Outer Rim should unite together and form their own government when the Core Worlds attempted to form the Forth Republic.
That statement regarding the fall of the republic describes the earth Federation to a T, no one could stop it; but in the end it killed itself.
Corellia: 🩴
Coruscant/Alsakan: 😐
Video about lord Momin?
He was a interesting character in the star wars comics his story was pretty cool
I'm mostly interested in Corellia. I was surprised to learn that it was one of the dominant worlds of the Core. I assumed that It was kind of like Detroit at its prime, known for great industrial input but not a nice place to live. It was probably because my only view into Corellia was from Solo. My impression may be partly because Solo focused its attention on the world's crime ridden underbelly but I had a feeling that Imperialization of Corellian Engineering Corporation was a major factor. Did Corellia gradually decline in status before the Clone Wars? Was there a specific period where Corellia's fortunes sharply changed? I would like to know these things.
Where can I find that image of the fleet at 2:03, any link?
Just imagine how things might change if the capital of the republic or it's equivalent changed to somewhere else like the Mid Rim.
Nice video
That outright tho, that was funny
Since when is Eriadu a core world? Eriadu is located in the outer Rim last time I checked.
Maybe planets change places in EU and canon like anaxis
@@bikesrcool_1958 nope eriadu is also located in the outer rim in the expanded universe.
@@starbird8999 then idk
Loving the legend of the galactic heroes. As an example of old republic warfare 😂
What I've learned about the Star Wars galaxy today; if the problem's not obvious then it's the core.
I honestly hated the Core Worlds altogether. Nothing but a bunch of rich people and fancy living conditions while most of the Outer Rim lives in poverty. Very few planets in the Outer Rim have places that have great conditions that always its citizens to prosper.
Core worlds fighting among one another outweighs all other conflicts except perhaps the ones started by Jedi and sith
I look at the human civilizations in Star Wars kind of like the United States (my home country). California hates Oklahoma, Oklahoma hates Texas, Texas hates New York, New York hates Florida, Florida hates Oregon, Oregon hates North Carolina, North Carolina hates South Carolina (and vice-versa), Hawai'i hates everyone, and so on. We all get along most of the time, but not always.
For some states, it boils down to major ideological/political differences (see: California vs. Oklahoma), others regional rivalries (see: Oklahoma vs. Texas, North vs. South Carolina), and still others petty d*ck measuring contests or all of the above.
But what happens if you were to go and give us a common enemy and/or attack one of the 50 states? If our leadership is smart and competent, may god have mercy on your soul because all of us, regardless of homestate, we will come for you and make you regret ALL of your life choices while you're on your way to the afterlife. But if our leadership is idiotic and incompetent...you get our present reality.
5:43 Look at my Flagship.
Mon Mothmas planet, Chandrila. Seems quite a decadent core world.
@user-db4ch8cb7t claim what?
All the squabbling of the core worlds makes the outer rim more civilised in comparison
I mean they dont call it star wars for nothing thats the whole point lol
Even in a galaxy far, far away, humans can’t do anything right.
With Friends like that, who needs enemies?!!
I feel like you need to clarify that this is Legends. The Canon Core worlds were benevolant for a while before becoming assholes in the run up to the Prequels.
Video Idea: History of Ossus
Light saber measuring lol
Imagine if The Balkan States ruled the world? That's basically The Core Worlds of The Star Wars Galaxy.
I'm thinking that Corellia doesn't deserve to be painted with the same brush as coruscant and Co..
Eriadu is outer rim.
You know, I was almost going to call out Geetsly at the end for saying everything wrong with the galaxy can be traced back to the Core until he noted all these other factions. To be fair though, whoever controls the Core controls the galaxy. Under the reign of the Jedi and Republic, everything was peaceful but nobody ever bothered with the many nonviolent issues plaguing the Rim. And under the reign of the Sith and Empires, life just became a living hell for everybody including the Core Worlds. I watched a fan video where a Republic officer became a nihilist or maybe just went crazy. Either way, he tried to crash a Republic ship filled with toxic gas into Coruscant to spare its people from Separatist brutality, and this was early in the war. Anyways, I wonder how many people throughout the galaxy wondered if life would get better if the Core Worlds were just gone. Since the Core sits at the end of most hyperspace lanes by being at the center of the galaxy, it of course can charge all trade that has to go through it. So, what if the Core was gone? These worlds didn’t exist? Would a leaderless galaxy work towards equality or would somebody else take the reigns? Think if this happened during the 1,000 years of peace for the Galactic Republic. No Sith, No Mandalorians, and before the last few hundred years when megacorporations became powerful.
Question: who wrote the first Star Wars book? George Lucas?
Alan Dean Foster, I guess.
@@michaelandreipalon359 If that's true, thanks
You're welcome, if it is so.
I like to compare it to our world,
African former colonies have become independent but corruption does not go away, if anything it becomes more prevalent as the limited duty of care also fell away, the outer rim becoming the roaming place for tyranical dictatorial and or downright criminal regimes that would take great care to keep their power centralized and so doing, without any sort of importance being given to public oppinion and the keys of power being in the hands of those that controlled the strategic resources , militairy,... these worlds, which being actual worlds should be able to be self substainable at least, became nothing more than the resource extraction points.
No doubt the rulers of these dystopian hellscapes would at least try to placate their populations as effectively and cheaply as possible, mainly trough taking great care to push all the blame for the suffering onto the core worlds and humanity (and other core species) in general.
over time the better situated outer rim worlds would develop into healthier countries as internal and external developments pushed those into systems where the keys of power ended in ever more hands and eventually a system where accountabillity to the populace was reached. Most of the outer rim would not develop at all however, (in fact those worlds with decent climatological conditions but little to no important resources would be much more likely to develop into functioning self sufficient systems.
or the skywalkers
Tell us about Duros.
i honestly kind of wonder if for most of the time the republic was even really something the member worlds felt part of. i mean the average non belgian european won't see anything special in brussels.
i mean once the republic navies stop being a thing, the only real impact you'd have would be a few set up common law codes and the occasional holonet news about court rulings affecting some place on the other end of the galaxy.
If even that. A lot of planets that were technically under the rule of the Old Republic were brutally poor and used purely to fuel the Old Republic’s insatiable need for resources.
It would be like how France ruled over Vietnam, or how Britain treated India and Africa. The people in those countries were mistreated, enslaved and used to farm resources until they simply died.
None of them were ***ever*** experience the luxuries France and Britain got to experience so far away.
.
This was the relationship of most planets with the Core Worlds of the Republic. They were isolated, abused, stripped of their resources and left to die.
But a small handful of planets became unbelievably powerful, with places like Coruscant having all 100% of their conceivable available landmass completely covered in Ultra-Utopian Megacities.
Meanwhile, for just Coruscant alone to reach such a feat, at least a dozen planets had to be stripped bare of all conceivable resources, turning them into barren and lifeless worlds.
The core seems to have developed through imperialism, very similar to how Europe and the US did, with the outer rim and expansion regions standing in for 3rd world nations
Basically. . .avoid the core worlds, avoid the outer rim and stick to the mid rim.
*Gets invaded by Trade Federation*
Meanwhile, Corellia spent much of the 25,000 years of the Republic going back and forth on whether or not they wanted to keep supporting those spoiled brats or to _legally_ leave them to fend for themselves, all while maintaining their own unique culture. XD
Like one of my professors once told us: The problem, is people.
Is it me or does alsakan is just alaskan with a single letter change
Where is the New Jersey of the core? The Florida?
🤔 . . . Before you do the entire list, starting with the Core Worlds featured in _Star Wars: Galaxies_ & then _Old Republic, The_ & whatever is last, be sure to recap events before those worlds became part of the greater galaxy. Basically, briefly go over the divine intervention that colonized Tython, followed by the Rakatan conquests, & finally how each of these worlds were reached & such…
The outer rim was right to secede.
Based -1st World- uh I mean Core World -Countries- Planets. 😎👍
