I did this on my fiance's hair and he loved it, has has super wavy fine hair so it was a challeneg the first time but we figured out rubberband and hairspray go a loooonng way
I appreciate seeing this so much!! I'm half Mexican and definitely got the hair. Super thick and mixed texture. I used to keep my hair in braids and cornrows when I was younger, but when I moved I had no one to do them. Trying to do braids myself has some slipping and some holding super well. I'm gonna try this and fingers crossed it works 😅
what happens when they grow out? Do you have to take them all out and get them redone? Really been thinking about doing this for a long long time. I have pretty long hair already, but I'm wanting to grow it out way longer, and my roommate says getting it braided and doing something like this, which I've been wanting to do for a long time anyway, will help me get there with less damage, since my hair won't be getting brushed or straightened and be less exposed to the elements.
Amy Williams hey hun if they grow out you just take them all out and redo them, I say give it a try the worst that can happen is you don’t like them and you take them out. Try it out lmk how it turns out , tag me on Instagram :) so I can see
You can actually extend the style by crocheting in and wrapping a piece of salary textured hair at the base where it has grown or loosened up. U have to wrap firmly and just blend the scraggly ends in with the existing loc.
I would have rather hear you explain what you were doing instead of the music that's the part my friend gets too and then she messes up so that's the part that really needed the instruction all the same thank you for taking time to make videos it's appreciated
My daughter has been wanting box braids for like a year or two because she needs a protective hair style. After watching this video I am going to ATTEMPT this. Her hair is shorter but hella thick. (I mean HELLA thick & kinky). Would you recommend I use larger sections or make them small like you did? Thanks for any advice!!!
Her sections are actually considered large but the locs she used are thicker so it's ok. Some faux locs are significantly thinner so u would have to use much smaller sections, meaning u would likely end up with 60-80 locs depending on head size and how full u want it to look
I ended up doing this to my hair. I’m Caucasian. Loved it! But I ended up having an allergic reaction to the hair 😰😰😰 had to take it out and go to a dermatologist. Now I’m waiting for my scalp to heal. And I’m going to loc my own hair!!!
Rachel Jones I’m sorry to hear about the reaction, you have to check some of the hairs are processed differently but I’m glad you decided to get Locs and give it a try !
Awesome I needed this, I’m gonna be doing this on a classmate this Friday. So you put her braid into the loc, no need for wrapping?

They look really good... so natural looking❤
Day's Beauty thank you !!! 😬😬😬
How did you get the crochet loc on the braid? Did you loop it and wrap the natural hair? How did you keep it in place so it doesn’t fall out?
thank you for replying to the question
No answer?
Did you braid her hair and twisted the braid on the loc? Looks lovely 😊

Hey honey. Did the rubber bands damage her hair? Did you guys put any products or treatments before?
William Martin no they didn’t damage her hair but make sure it’s tight because the loose ones slide off
William Martin gel is the only product we used
