Minthara in Bhaal's Temple: omg, Wellens, where are you?! I'm suffering!! Wellens: *gets comfy with friendly bear* Jaheira: *transforms into a peeping squirrel*
I imagine there's someone in Larion whose job is to choreograph all those 'intimate" scenes, to make them realistic, interesting and distinct from each other. I wonder if they put it on the job description...
Who was hurt most this episode? Sarevok being crushed by a level 1 spell? Asterion being on the verge of death 5 times in a row? or Halsin being led on for days, only to be rejected by a reformed monk?
The room you unlocked isn't where Orin is, it's just a side chamber to the tribunal. You don't need to put off exploring it. 23:55 Sendai and Illasera were part of group of Bhaalspawn known as 'The Five' and served as antagonists in BG2. Amelyssan was a priestess of Bhaal as well as the final boss in BG2 as she hoped to steal the power of Bhaal for herself. The notes at each of the murder scenes were written by Orin referring to each scene as an effigy to each member of The Five and one for Amelyssan. 27:15 Sarevok's resurrection took place in BG2, at the hands of the protagonist of those games (usually referred to as 'Gorion's Ward' or the canonical Abdel Adrian). 51:52 Sarevok and the other Bhaalspawn are the actual children of Bhaal, so Orin is indeed descended from Bhaal.
Welonz: I just need you guys to perceive stuff!! Halsin: I perceive us togeth-. Welonz: NO! Sarevok has a nice deep voice. Sarevok: I’ll be the thumbnail, right? 🥺👉👈 I know you can just google things but I wish BG3 had an in-game bestiary/character index that filled out as you progressed.
Bhaalists plot is one of my favourite in Act 3, and seeing Sarevok again was incredible (who knew back in the old good days of previous BG games that we get a new content with Sarevok?!), absolutely send chills down the spine just listening to him so casually and nonchalantly talking about murders and what happened in his family. I just love the aestetics of Bhaal's related design (and no, I'm not a serial killer irl because of that lol), there are so many interesting details, the color of red is so overwhelming it makes you almost hypnotic, and very disturbing silence - all these creepy undercity vibes contrasts so much with BG streets full of every color of life, childrens and animals running, laugh and constant talk between (drunk or sober) citizens. Again, I'm impressed with Wellens (and MVP Gale, yes!) beating Sarevok with ease. But, to be fair, I find combat in side quests (you know which ones when you'll get there lol) more tough than combat in main quest. Still, it so good to see you doing great in fights (from Auntie Ethel to current day it's a huge growth for Wellens' team, imo)!
1:50 - I'm not sure how to best describe Welonz's style of badassery, but it's certainly one of my favourites. I still haven't gotten over her confronting a boss in Crisis Core with the immortal utterance, "Woah, you look like a Digimon!" 23:30 - Bhaal only craves fatality! ...And, on occasion, poetry. 34:16 - Uh-oh ... I suspect that Wellens is about to become a deformed monk.
I had a feeling it was the painting due to the hint but it's kind of funny how you were so focused on opening the bookcase that you kept the camera facing it the whole time, which made the paintng invisible although a second look at it might have been enough to get the idea :x Congrats on beating the Tribunal AND being a good reformed monk! :P
Us in Act 1: save Minthara! We'll tell you how to do it! 😡 Also us in Act 3: do not worry about Minthara, she's fineeee and look at all the nice things you can do other than saving Minthara 😘
Nice work with the Sarevok fight! he almost can be considered an endgame boss, partly. You were lucky though that the 3 'dark paladins' by the entrance didn't join the fight from the beginning (they did in my game), and I passed the first test consequently I also had to deal with a dozen ghost assassins too from the next chamber. So, this fight can be much harder if all Sarevok's adds join the fight.
Sarevok, one of many of Bhaal's children. After his defeat in BG1, he was later revived by the protagonist in BG2's expansion, Throne of Bhaal. During this expansion, he joins the protagonist's party and helps him fight off the other Bhaalspawn, who are warring with each other for the chance to take Bhaal's place. Interestingly, it's actually possible redeem him, shifting his alignment to Chaotic Good. I don't know for sure if his character regressed, or if his redemption was simply ruled non-canon, but this has led to some being dissatisfied with Sarevok's role in BG3, having reverted to his more evil self. It is worth mentioning though that Sarevok's return to Bhaal was established in Forgotten Realms lore well before the release of BG3.
You're right, who cares about Sarevok, one of the most important characters of BG franchise, and the main plot ? We wanted drama, shattered hopes and we're all sad about this dramatic ending with Halsin. You should be ashamed, Wellens ! Joking aside, yes, Jaheira would have had something to say if she had confronted Sarevok.
While his appearance here was a cool reference to the original games, some felt his role here didn't fit Sarevok's character, as only ever covetet his father's role, he wasn't really a Bhaalist. His past actions were all to serve as a means for his own ascension to godhood because at the time Bhaal was in fact dead, so the position was vacant, so him appearing so devoted to him here felt like a poor fit for how personally ambitious he was. Of course its been about a century since than- his aim of being a god having long since been dashed with Bhaal's revival. So one could interpret his actions here as someone "turning to faith" albeit a very twisted one, after the events of the Bhaalspawn crisis, left him directionless.
That's what WoTC decided as canon for Sarevok (I honestly don't care that much, but I get people gripes), just like with other legacy characters (including protagonist, see Abdel Adrian) Basically if someone would make BG4 or any other material with BG3 characters, that are canon to DnD now, WoTC would decide what is there canon fate would be going into BG4 or any new material that uses these characters or references events of BG3 in any shape or form (and thus plenty would be upset about Astarion or Gale or SH, because of how variant their fate could be and what is "fit" for their character or not)
Funnily enough, by moving everyone to be really close to Sarevok and not staying near the entrance, you probably saved yourself from the hard version of this fight where the Death Knights also join in and attack you at the same time. I stumbled into it one time on Tactician not knowing it would happen and it was kind of awesome, trying to just slow down the knights with big walls and Ice Storm and stuff while dealing with main fight. But yeah Sarevok is one of my favorite fights, because all you do is hit him really hard and nothing else, then he'll win that fight every time, so you have to use their weaknesses to your advantage. Using the silence ability on his helpers was actually perfect because it kept them from healing him and giving him a variety of really scary buffs, so very well played there. My personal favorite is to spam hold person on him until one of them lands (exploiting his low wisdom save) and then throwing my melee people in his face to rip him to shreds, but there are a lot of options out there to deal with him. Of course, we all seem to agree that the one who really got ripped to shreds today was Halsin, whose new relationship lasted approximately 5 minutes. He took it like a champ, though. Godspeed, buddy.
Later than night at the bar of the Elfsong to some random stranger sitting next to Halsin: I wanted more than to fight at Wellens side, I wanted to lay with her under the stars and feel her skin against mine. But it was not to be, just as we met under the moon she admitted a mistake and come the morning she also no longer wanted to be more than friends. When she explained herself... alas she only wanted to be with me to get through a door.
Episode Title: I am a Reformed Monk (actually) Episode audio: "I'm never going to be able to get that kiss in, then." 46:15 It'd be kind of funny if the first time you summoned a Cambion with Planar Ally while Mizora was in your camp, you summoned her by accident before she teleported in a replacement Cambion. EDIT: Congratulations on taking out the Murder Tribunal so cleanly. I believe the button hidden behind the painting makes more sense if you've played Larien's other games, since IIRC paintings are a very good source of money in Divinity Original Sin 2, so DoS2 players would've stumbled upon it completely by accident while they were looting.
Great job with Sarevok...and Gale finally getting some recognition warms my heart:) It's a shame Sarevok turned out to be such a disappointing boss for such a huge character. Unless the dead knights join the fight, it's one of the easiest boss fights in act 3, when it should have been one of the toughest...
Bringing Jehira and her friend here is amazing because all 3 have so much history. And if you being Karlach as well, she's just fangirling the whole time xD
Dang, you really lead Halsin around? That's mean. Like you went up until the very end just to say no. You didn't even need to do any of that to have him in your party
Woof so close to Sarevok’s desk and no bueno! Argh. Next time then. I really thought with Wellons style of reading and going through everything we would find some very juicy stuff for her to read. Oh well.
spoilers for this video
alternate timeline where wellens goes to the dark side: ruclips.net/video/kKODC2_KDU0n/видео.html
I am proud of you for making what you think best and of course what makes you happy n.n and seriousley Halsin is so creepy, there’s no chemistry xD
Minthara in Bhaal's Temple: omg, Wellens, where are you?! I'm suffering!!
Wellens: *gets comfy with friendly bear*
Jaheira: *transforms into a peeping squirrel*
and that's with "show nudity" in "off" btw :)

THE BEAR SCENE! THE BEAR SCENE IS REAL!
Who was hurt most this episode?
Sarevok being crushed by a level 1 spell?
Asterion being on the verge of death 5 times in a row?
or Halsin being led on for days, only to be rejected by a reformed monk?
What an episode!

56:13 There's one more disturbing document at this room, one that's actually going to shock you.
Astarion getting repeatedly downed by the vortex thing KILLED me
"They all laughed when I said I was bringing Magic Missile to a Bhaal fight. Who's laughing now?"
The past few episodes have been some of the funniest let's plays ive ever seen, i love this channel so much
Welonz: I just need you guys to perceive stuff!!
Halsin: I perceive us togeth-.
Welonz: NO!
Sarevok has a nice deep voice.
Sarevok: I’ll be the thumbnail, right? 🥺👉👈

"Sarevok: I’ll be the thumbnail, right" I snorted so hard!!!!!!

Same VA as 20+ years ago btw
Poor Astarion, how soon a 56 damage crit is forgotten.
All that shade towards Astarion...😂I still remember Astarion rejecting welonz. I couldn't stop cackling.

Insert Marie Kondo meme where "this one sparks joy" is that thumbnail.

Congrats on beating the Tribunal AND being a good reformed monk! :P
So we replaced the angelic stripper with the demonic stripper
Shadowheart is super freaky and I love it
Us in Act 1: save Minthara! We'll tell you how to do it! 😡
Also us in Act 3: do not worry about Minthara, she's fineeee and look at all the nice things you can do other than saving Minthara 😘
Tbh it would just make sense to bring you-know-who to the rescue and to the fight, since he does have less content compared to everyone else.
Us? Who's us? Like, The Last of Us - the video game?
Honestly this LP more than anything else has made me respect Larian's original intent of tying Minthara to more of an "evil" playthrough.😅
Welonz making only one's foe's ki resonate before detonation is killing me.

>redemption was simply ruled non-canon
basically, yeah, non-canon by WoTC
he died and then got ressed and "soul-bound to this husk", as he says
Ach yes, clishé secret button under the painting problem :)

Immediately raise a glass because of the title lmao
9:07 "My love". Lmao
Also, "Bhaal said it is my turn to enter the temple" 😂

Gorion's ward is Gorion's adoptiv child and a child of Bhaal. Your Tav in BG1-2
LMAO, poor Halsin. At least he's old enough so that probably doesn't hurt as much as this would hurt any one of us.
Sarevok's helmet also reduces the threshold for rolling a critical hit which is pretty strong.
Episode Title: I am a Reformed Monk (actually)

It'd be kind of funny if the first time you summoned a Cambion with Planar Ally while Mizora was in your camp, you summoned her by accident before she teleported in a replacement Cambion.

Either you stuff the bear or the bear stuffs you
Lmao it's moments like this that make you deserve what happened with Cassandra and Dorian in DAI, just saying 😂
Hope everyone's doing well today
Great job with Sarevok...and Gale finally getting some recognition warms my heart:)

1:43 very spooky
Bringing Jehira and her friend here is amazing because all 3 have so much history. And if you being Karlach as well, she's just fangirling the whole time xD
I love the music dureing Sarevok's fight, it rules.
Saw the title and clicked faster than the speed of light 😂
52:51 Calls arguably one of the best helmets in the game as not bad lol
In my run the Death Knights joined the fight after a few rounds, maybe I left the door open? Fight seemed a bit underwhelming without them
Dang, you really lead Halsin around? That's mean. Like you went up until the very end just to say no. You didn't even need to do any of that to have him in your party
...as she realized afterwards, so unintentionally mean.
Woof so close to Sarevok’s desk and no bueno! Argh. Next time then. I really thought with Wellons style of reading and going through everything we would find some very juicy stuff for her to read. Oh well.
