You don't have to like Astarion's personality or play with him or help him with his trauma, but saying that he's about walking all over Tav and ignoring consent if you don't romance him is just factually wrong.
How does he walk all over you and ignore consent? When you first meet him, if you say no to letting him travel with you, he doesn’t force the issue . He whines a little then just lets you walk away, just standing there, hoping you’ll change your mind eventually and come back for him. In the bite scene, after being found out he asks to bite you and again doesn’t force himself on you if you say no. When he comes to you proposing to have sex with you, he only does so with you saying you want it too.

She has become Bakugo
I never found Araj in Baldur's Gate. How do you trigger this one exactly? Does she survive Moonrise Towers after I storm it or do I have to do something different?
Just wander around until a house blows up next to you and you've found her. AFAIK she escapes Moonrise regardless, unless you kill her before then of course
@@slayerdwarfify Oooh! Thank you so much! 🥰
You have to do the potion thing in act 2 to get it. Otherwise she doesn’t show up in act 3.
Wow. How did you get this scene? Because I only saw her at the Moonrise Tower. I have never been saw her in other places. 😮
You can find this scene when you get into the lower city proper, that is if she lived through Moonrise Towers.
If you gave blood walking through the city you'll hear a shop explode and she'll run out
You have to walk about baldur's gate in act 3!
She's right next to the Mermaid inn
hes like that if your just friends to.

i@@Awomanontheinternet how is it taking it from you? you have a vampire super best friend or a super vampire boyfriend, either way it's win win
@@lonewolfclan1073True. I played a Selûnite Wizard (Light Cleric 2/Evocation Wizard X) who was never really great friends with Astarion before meeting the Drow. I mean, I let him have all the tadpiles he wanted since I wasn't going to use them and let him have The Necromancy of Thay but that was mostly a case of me giving him a rope and watching carefully to see if he'd hang himself with it. It wasn't until after I backed him up when he told the Drow "No." at Moonrise that he actually seemed like he liked and trusted my Selûnite. Not like I was trying to romance him at all, my Selûnite as a man of faith actually found Shadowheart to be quite pleasant company, even while they were still in the early stages of their relationship as worshippers of opposing goddesses. My Selûnite was overjoyed when Shadowheart joined him in prayer to Selûne

missed this encounter
I wanted to do this quest but i think its bugged for me because when she is supposed to give me the potion my inventory doesnt have it and ive reloaded and still the same problem.
It may be in the inventory of one of your other characters
I missed this 2nd interaction...
Funny only Astarion defeats you . The others standig there and 😐. Wow best friends there 😂
this interaction is personal for Astarion. you also generally only get one companion chiming in for any given scene like this; two at most.
Do you have to romance Astarion for this interaction or do you just have to defend him from her in moonrise?
I was wondering the same thing, sigh :/
I would like to see you try *My Escanor build rolls in*
Astarion broke up with me after the strength potion thing.
if you forced him to drink her foul blood after he said "no", ignoring his consent in favor of getting a benefit for yourself? yeah, of course he did. it's the capital sin for him, after being forced to do the same thing by Cazador
How do you get this?
Your Tav is so gorgeous and I need the name of Astarion’s armor asap PLEASE don’t tell me it’s a mod 😟‼️
Explosive blood?
Also, what location is that?
Is this a scenario you only get if you Don't wipe out the Moon Tower?
it's in the really big area before you actually enter into baldur's gate. i think it's called wyrm crossing. you can get the scenario even if you wipe out the moon tower! just explore as you usually do and you should run across her house (or whoever's house she has taken residence in)
@@liushe8024 Huh...i sorta pride myself as someone who explores a map to a fault, yet i never came across this, welp, back to exploring, gotta right this wrong!
Cheers!
It's in the city itself not at the crossing I'm pretty sure. Not far from the Blushing Mermaid if I recall

you have to meet Araj in act two and give her your blood in exchange for a potion that grants you racial benefits (this is not the same as making Astarion bite her, you have to trade your *own* blood for a one-time use potion).
then when you get near to her shop in act three (which is roughly next to The Blushing Mermaid), there's an explosion and she runs outside. you have to talk to her and let her take her experiment on you a step further (I've never done this because Astarion will ask you not to if you're romancing him, so I don't remember if this step is another potion or more of your blood or both, but it should be obvious when you get there).
at that point your blood develops a fire / explosive condition, which is why when you come back to her again for this dialog, she's surprised that you're alive.
and as others have said elsewhere in the comments, some of the dialog options here will end the conversation earlier and you won't get Astarion defending you or her declaring a fight.

Araj Oblodra, moonrise towers downstairs. She has a merchant map mark, iirc. This scene is when you encounter her again in the city (if a house explodes when you walk by, she'll run out and you get this scene)

Might be
In contrast, if your persuasion is very high you can force astarion to drink HER blood and then he breaks up with you :)
ew
She sounds like the female version of Asterion.
Who? What??
Am I the only one who sees a black woman with her skin color changed? Be honest.
Which would be fine if all drows shared those facial traits, but they don't, and I find it very unimmersive, because I see a black woman, not a drow.
Is there an issue with her facial features being of a Black woman...?
@@Awomanontheinternet To racist people like this there is, yes
it’s absolutely wild to me how many comments I see on Araj’s cutscene videos where people are throwing a fit because she has full lips and it’s “not immersive” because it vaguely reminds them of black women
In a game with giant floating eye monsters, devils, hags, changelings, sorcerers and a plethora of Gods/Goddesses, someone having not-entirely-European features in a game where Europe doesn’t even exist is “unimmersive.” I’m just so over it 🤷🏻♀️
To bad he's an abuser...
Except he's not?
You mean the man who was enslaved, tortured and raped and forced to hurt people for his master has, gasp, abused people and has a messed up perspective of right and wrong? Wow, what a new concept.
@@AwomanontheinternetHow old are you?
I love how his relationship without romance is all about him walking all over you and ignoring consent. Letting him tag along once was my only mistake, since then he gets staked every single time.
it's really not like that?? I haven't romanced him in a playthrough and he's a good friend if you are a good friend to him (have high approval). all the companions are.
All the companions have flaws and make mistakes or errors in judgement, and those errors come from their backstory/history. Tav's journey with them helps them develop, like yknow, character development.
