  • Today, I ride some fabulous intermediate "flow" trails in the Mount Seymour region of North Vancouver, BC. Mountain bike trails on Mount Seymour are characterized as steep, janky and rooty with dozens of man-made wooden features such as ladder bridges and rideable skinny logs. So, intermediate flow trails are a rarity, and John Deer and Asian Adonis are two such trails. If you visit Mount Seymour, these are two of the trails I would recommend you start with.

    awesome content! Great to see a detailed perspective of some nice trails before I hit them up. Where should you park to get access to a couple runs like you just did? Thanks again

      Park at the Old Buck parking lot and climb up Old Buck. You can do a loop on each of John Deer and Asian Adonis…and if you are up for it, also try out Pangor which is along the same route.

    Hey Ron, just wondering what your camera setup is? Camera type and where/how it's mounted?

    • @ronsanderson99
      @ronsanderson99  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'm now using the GoPro Hero 12 and I have it mounted on my chest with a Stuntman chest mount. I have the Hero 12 set on wide view, with full stabilization and I've added the lens modification so I get an even wider view while still getting 4K resolution. I see lots of guys mount their camera's on the chin of a full face helmet, but I don't like the way it tilts downward so much and swings back and forth as the rider is tilting his neck. The chest mount is way more stable and smooth, but also contributes to the GoPro "effect" where the steeps are way steeper than it looks like on the camera.

    Whole lot of chunk for an intermediate trail. You sure were bouncing around.

      Yup, there's a whole lot of chunk! And these are the flow trails! So, the North Shore of Vancouver has a reputation for being a challenging place to ride...and it is. The blues are often closer to blacks in other regions. But, there are lots of very cool man made wooden features that make riding very interesting throughout our trails, and challenging for those that seek it. In the Mount Fromme region of North Vancouver, you can find more typical flow trails that aren't as janky as those on Mount Seymour - so Fromme is a better place to ride for those just starting to explore Vancouver trails. But for me, I live at the base of Mount Seymour and can ride directly from my house and get a great ride and a lot of exercise. Thanks for watching!
