*UPDATE:* The latest errata adds the Attack trait to the Tanglefoot spell (as well as others).

6:40 please read the errata, this particular error has been addressed and Tanglefoot, Disintegrate and Polar Ray now have the Attack Trait.

Though good. You really should have some pictures/figures showing what you talk about.
Your LoS and LoE was more confusing that whats in the book. Also LoS always grants LoE, but not the opposite.
LoE: Unblocked path, know the place to create the effect, vision not required.
LoS: Unblocked path, visual or other sense to know precisely where the target is.

Funny you mention that -- I'm outputting a full examples video about Line of Effect as we speak and it will be published to my Patreon today (and go public next week).
And I'm not entirely sure I agree that LoS always grants LoE. Take a glass wall for example. You have LoS to what is on the other side, but do not have LoE because the glass wall obstructs your path to that target.

Okay, just re-read it. That's kind of odd wording about "it is not blocked by a solid barrier" in LoS... so they're saying there is no LoS to things on the other side of glass wall? That makes no sense to me... maybe "solid barrier" is supposed to imply it's opaque?

@@HowItsPlayed LoS does also mean you can target it with an arrow or similar. Behind a glass window is visible, but not LoS and LoE.
So... LoS and visible are not the same. A bit confusing.

Tanglefoot has the attack trait as of the newest errata, so your example is no longer valid. The last errata corrected the last few spells that had a spell attack and now all spells with spell attack have the 'attack' trait as, I believe, was originally intended.

Darn it -- you're absolutely right. This video was actually recorded weeks ago before the errata came out. And I forgot to update it. Thanks for pointing this out to me... I'll add a pinned comment and will see about posting an update to the video.

Do all reactions not contribute to your Multiple Attack Penalty, or is there a general rule that they follow, where they either must say that they do or don't? The Attack trait portion of the video reminded me of my own confusion xD

Nevermind, answered my own question! Bottom of page 446 CRB you don't have to keep track of MAP when it isn't on your turn.

The attack trait portion is based on wrong information; Tanglefoot has been errata'd to have the Attack Trait.
Additionally, MAP only applies ON YOUR TURN. Hence, AoO does not suffer any of it. A notable exception is the Ready action, which takes whatever MAP you had into the reaction.
Also I recall an ability/spell that lets your allies attack but they all take 1 stage of MAP, but I can't remember what it is.

How much would it break the game to just draw some templates and say "if this template covers 50% of the square, it is included in the AOE of the spell"?
