    Ok you guys, just one more pattern tutorial 😂This was too fun and too easy to resist sharing. The last couple of pattern tutorials were definitely on the more advanced side, but this one is perfect for intermediate/ambitious beginners!
    We’ll start by making our lettering brush and I’ll show you an easy way to preview/adjust the pattern before adding it to the brush. I share all of my brush settings and then we start playing with it! You’ll see how to apply it to shapes for quick wreaths and then we’ll fill out our summery lettering with florals and foliage accents, finished off with some paint splatter and a watercolor paper texture.

    TECH STUFF + ACCESSORIES I USE
    ✨ This artwork was created on a 5th gen iPad Pro (12.9”, 256GB) with a 2nd gen Apple Pencil using the Procreate app (v.5.2.5)
    ✨ I use the Paperlike screen protector on my iPad Pro along with their pencil grips, more info here: every-tuesday.com/paperlike
    ✨ When not in use, I keep my Apple Pencil in the NimbleStand: every-tuesday.com/stand
    ✨I recommend any iPad listed here for working in Procreate: every-tuesday.com/ipads as they all allow for pressure sensitivity. I only recommend an Apple Pencil because of its reliability compared to other 3rd party styluses

    I’ve been following you for years, and when I googled about this, it was no surprise you did a tutorial! Even if I was trying to make a zipper brush, it still helped immensely!! Thank you!

    There is no edit button when creating brushes for me - am I missing something?

    • @erikaborrego3398
      @erikaborrego3398 Год назад

      I was having the same issue and it was driving me crazy! You need to hold your tablet horizontally in order to see the edit button. (Holding it vertically changes the menu arrangement and the edit button totally disappears.) Big UX fail, Procreate! 🤦🏼‍♀️

    Loved this tutorial! I’m very new to procreate so loving to experiment. I have a question, why does my leaf pattern have a dull white background behind it? I followed all the steps.

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  2 года назад +1

      Hey Rita! That means when you set your black background it wasn't completely black. Make sure you double tap where the black is so it snaps to true black before dragging it in 👍

    I'm having issues with my leaf brush. I followed your brush settings and the preview shows my leaves going up/down, but when I use it on my canvas they are sideways 🤷🏻‍♀️

      I had the same problem, than I turned my iPad 90 degrees and now it works 😂

      @@wendyharrison3794 when you turn the little green dot to 180 degrees insted of 90 degrees, thant it works too.
      My friend made the tutorial too on her IPad and she had the same problem.
      You’re not an idiot. 😂🥰🤗🧡

    Teela, I love your tutorials. Thank you. The first set of leaves, always comes out sideways. Why is that?

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  2 года назад

      I think it has something to do with Procreate figuring out how your pencil is placed on the canvas so it can follow the stroke after that. It always happens when you have a brush with a rotation that follows stroke - def frustrating and something I hope they will fix 🤞

    I am not sure I understand the relationship between the color palette and the brush. I saw folks on social media lettering with multi-colored or even different textures but the speed is too high or they said they had used another app in addition to that, to CREATE the brush. So, the question, I guess is, the Kaleidoscope brush you created is already colored or....? and if so, why do you need to pick a color? again, what is the relationship between the color palette and the brush when you use a brush within a text (with clipping mask) or even to write on top(and I am not referring to using the eraser on top of a layer with a picture or another pattern or swatch of colors). Love your work, thank you!

    Bonjour Teela, merci pour ce tuto que j'ai suivi rigoureusement 😊 par contre, il y a comme une vignette autour de ma forme à la création de ma brush. Comment enlever ce carré présent à chaque répétition du motif? Merci de votre réponse, je n'ose pas aller plus loin que l'étape de l'écriture 😢

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  Месяц назад +1

      Bonjour Celine! If that's happening, it means your black square wasn't true black (it may have looked like black, but wasn't 100% black). You'll have to go back and remake your shape with a true black background and then all should work as expected 👍

    I love your ideas, but I find that you go so fast, it’s too much to try to follow you. Particularly when you were giving us the specifications for the brush; sometimes you . just point at something and go this thing over here, and never tell us exactly what it is. It’s as if you forget that we are using a split screen.
    I thank you very much, and when I’m more experienced, hopefully I’ll be able to follow you.

      Hey Lisa! This is an intermediate tutorial, so the pace is a little quicker. You can always slow me down by hitting the little gear icon in the bottom right corner of RUclips's player and adjusting the playback speed. Here's my playlist with slower beginner tuts :) ruclips.net/p/PLOaLExfvXZWIKx2_iGcs9q4oYd0RQpN5Q

      RUclips allows PIP now so that might help. I rewatch her videos a lot when creating even if I don’t necessarily need to

      I so appreciate all your work and sharing. Thank you for the tip of slowing you down! I’ m watching this video and practicing multiple times! Right now I’m just listening as I’m cooking. I find that getting familiar with new info helps me pick up on the info and gelling it in my head. I also like to take notes and transcribe these types of videos. Teela, you are a great teacher!
